Worship of the Goddess takes place, while the ‘goddess’ of the home is sacrificed…

India is a country where the worship of goddesses has a long history. Goddess worship is also known as Shakti Puja, in which goddesses Durga, Kali, Lakshmi, Saraswati, and other goddesses are worshipped. These goddesses are considered symbols of power, knowledge, prosperity, and destruction. But, the irony is that on one hand we worship goddesses, but on the other hand we do not respect the women of our own house, do not give them equal status. This is an irony that has been going on for centuries.
In Indian culture, women have been considered a form of goddess. They are worshipped as mother, sister, wife, and daughter. But, in reality, women have to face many problems. They are confined to household chores, they are not given education and career opportunities, they are harassed for dowry, and they also have to become victims of rape and sexual harassment.
There are many reasons for the lack of respect for women. Among them, our society is male-dominated, where men are considered superior to women. This thinking is a big reason for the lack of respect for women. Illiteracy is also a big reason for the lack of respect for women. Uneducated people consider women weak and trivial. Economic dependence of women is also a reason for the lack of respect for them. Women who are not financially self-dependent often have to suffer from an inferiority complex.
To give women their rightful place in society, we need to change our thinking towards women. We should give them equal status, give them education and career opportunities, and protect them from violence and harassment. By educating women, they will become self-dependent and will be able to make their place in society. By making women financially independent, they will not be dependent on men, and their respect will increase. The government should make strict laws for the safety of women and follow them strictly.
Respecting women is not only a moral responsibility, but it is also a social and economic necessity. Only when women are empowered, our society and country prosper.
Heartiest wishes for Sharadiya Navratri
