फूलों की रंग-बिरंगी दुनिया में हर एक फूल आकर, प्रकार, रंग और सुगंध के अनुसार एक दुसरे से भिन्न होती है. फिल्म संसार में फूल पर गीत लिखे गये थे जो फूल के अनुसार ही उसके मोहक और आकर्षक ( फूल आहिस्ता फेंको, फूल बड़े नाज़ुक होते हैं…) हैं. लेकिन आज आपको हम एक ऐसे फूल के बारे में बताने जा रहे है जो विश्व का सबसे बड़ा, वजनदार, बदबूदार और दुर्लभ फूलों में एक फूल है जो आमतौर पर मलेशिया, सुमात्रा, फिलिपिन्स और इंडोनेशिया में पाया जाता है. इस फूल का नाम है रेफ्लेशिया (Rafflesia). इस फूल का वानस्पतिक नाम रफ्लेसिया ओरलैंडी (Rafflesia orlandii ) है. इंडोनेशिया में आमतौर पर ‘पदम् रक्षसा’ और ‘बूंगा बंगाकाई’ के नाम से भी जाना जाता है. यह फूल इंडोनेशिया का राष्ट्रीय फूलों में से एक है. यह फूल काफी दुर्लभ है और लुप्त होने की स्थिति पर है.
इतिहास: –
इस फूल की खोज सर्वप्रथम डाक्टर जोसेफ अर्नाल्ड व एक स्थानीय गाइड ने देखा था. इस फूल का नामकरण उसी खोजी दल के नेता सर थॉमस स्टैमफोर्ड रेफ्लस के नाम पर हुआ है. अब तक इसकी 26 प्रजातियों की खोज की जा चुकी है जिनमें से 04 का नामकरण स्पष्ट रूप से नहीं हुआ है. रेफ्लेशिया पृथ्वी पर मौजूद सबसे दुर्लभ पौधों में से एक है. यह फूल गर्म एवं आद्र जलवायु या यूँ कहें कि, उष्णकटिबंधीय वर्ष वन में पैदा होते हैं. रेफ्लेशिया का फूल वर्षा के मौसम में रात्री के समय खिलते हैं.
मिटटी: –
रेफ्लेशिया के फूलों को किसी प्रकार की मिटटी की आवश्यकता नहीं होती है चुकिं यह एक परजीवी पौधा होता है.
इस पौधे का जन्म किसी संक्रमित पेड़ की जड़ से होता है. सर्वप्रथम एक गाँठ बनती है और बड़ी होकर बंदगोभी के आकर की हो जाती है. करीब चार दिनों बाद इसकी पंखुडियां खुल कर प्रे फूल का आकर ले लेती है. रेफ्लेशिया फूल से सड़े मांस की दुर्गंध आती है, इसीलिए इसे कोर्पस् (लाश) फ्लावर या मीट (मांस) फ्लावर भी कहा जाता है. रेफ्लेशिया के फूल लाल रंग के होते हैं और इस फूल की पांच पंखुड़ियां चमकीली और धब्बेदार होती हैं.
रेफ्लेशिया का फूल बीच में से कुएं की तरह होता है. इस कुएं में एक उभरी हुई सेंट्रल डिस्क होती है, जिस पर वर्टिकली कई कांटें लगे होते हैं. रेफ्लेशिया का फूल केवल 5-7 दिनों तक ही खिला रहता है, इसके बाद ये काला पड़कर सड़ने लगता है. बताते चलें कि, रेफ्लेशिया पौधे की मौजूदगी तभी पता चलती है, जब वाईन पर इसकी कली आती है. इस कली को खिलने में नौ से बारह महीने का समय लगता है.
ये फूल युनिसेक्शुअल होते हैं यानी नर और मादा फूल अलग-अलग होते हैं, इसलिए ये फूल पोलिनेशन के लिए दूसरे जीवों पर निर्भर होता है. रेफ्लेशिया फूल की दुर्गंध से कीड़े-मकोड़े आकर्षित होते हैं जिससे फूल के परागन में सहायक होती है. इस फूल की सभी प्रजातियों की त्वचा को छूने या स्पर्श करने पर मांस की तरह प्रतीत होता है.इनके फूलों से सड़े मांस के जैसी दुर्गन्ध आती है.
इस फूल के पौधे की खासियत है कि इसमें कोई पत्ती या जड़ नहीं होती है. ये अपना भोजन पानी दुसरे पौधों से प्राप्त करता है. इसकी प्यालीनुमा पुष्पनाल में मौजूद गंध कीट-पतंगों को आकर्षित करता है. इस फूल के खिलने की शुरुआत अक्टूबर से होती है और अगले साल मार्च तक पूरी तरह से खिल जाता है. रेफ्लेशिया के फूलों का जीवन कुछ ही दिनों का होता है. यह फूल 05-07 दिनों तक खिला हुआ रहता है उसके बाद काला पड़ कर सड़ जाता है.
इस पौधे में केवल फूल ही एक ऐसा भाग है जो जमीन के ऊपर रहता है शेष सब भाग कवक जाल की भांति पतले – पतले होते है और जमीन के अंदर ही धागों के रूप में फैले रहते हैं. बताते चलें कि, वर्ष 2017 में पश्चिम मध्य सुमात्रा के जंगलों में सबसे बड़ा फूल खिला हुआ मिला जो करीब चार वर्ग फिट में फैला हुआ था और उसका करीब 12 किलो का था.

The Largest Flower Rafflesia…
In the colourful world of flowers, every flower differs according to its shape, type, colour and fragrance. In the film world, songs were written on flowers which were as charming and attractive as the flower itself (Throw flowers slowly, Flowers are very delicate…). But today we are going to tell you about a flower that is the largest, heaviest, smelliest and rarest flower in the world, which is usually found in Malaysia, Sumatra, Philippines and Indonesia. The name of this flower is Rafflesia. The botanical name of this flower is Rafflesia orlandii. In Indonesia, it is also commonly known as ‘Padma Rakshasa’ and ‘Buanga Bangakai’. This flower is one of the national flowers of Indonesia. This flower is quite rare and is on the verge of extinction.
History: –
This flower was first discovered by Dr. Joseph Arnold and a local guide. This flower is named after the leader of the same exploration team, Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles. So far 26 species have been discovered, out of which 04 have not been named clearly. Rafflesia is one of the rarest plants on earth. These flowers grow in hot and humid climate or rather, in tropical forests. Rafflesia flowers bloom at night during the rainy season.
Soil: –
Rafflesia flowers do not require any kind of soil because it is a parasitic plant.
This plant originates from the roots of an infected tree. First a knot is formed and it grows and becomes the size of a cabbage. After about four days its petals open and take the shape of a flower. Rafflesia flower smells of rotten meat that is why it is also called corpse flower or meat flower. Rafflesia flowers are red in color and the five petals of this flower are bright and spotted.
The Rafflesia flower is like a well in the middle. This well has a raised central disk, on which many thorns are mounted vertically. Rafflesia flower remains in bloom only for 5-7 days, after which it turns black and starts rotting. Let us tell you that the presence of Rafflesia plant is known only when its bud appears on the vine. This bud takes nine to twelve months to bloom.
These flowers are unisexual, that is, male and female flowers are different, and hence this flower is dependent on other organisms for pollination. The foul smell of Rafflesia flower attracts insects which help in pollination of the flower. The skin of all species of this flower feels like flesh when touched. Their flowers smell like rotten meat.
The specialty of this flowering plant is that it has no leaves or roots. It gets its food and water from other plants. The smell present in its cup-shaped flower pipe attracts insects. The blooming of this flower starts from October and blooms completely by March next year. The life of Rafflesia flowers is only a few days. This flower remains in bloom for 05-07 days, after which it turns black and rots.
In this plant, the flower is the only part that remains above the ground, all the remaining parts are thin like a fungal web and are spread in the form of threads inside the ground. Let us tell you that in the year 2017, the largest flower was found blooming in the forests of West Central Sumatra, which was spread over about four square feet and weighed about 12 kg.
