राष्ट्रीय प्रदूषण नियंत्रण दिवस

राष्ट्रीय प्रदूषण नियंत्रण दिवस हर वर्ष 02 दिसंबर को मनाया जाता है. इस दिवस को  मनाने का मुख्य उद्देश्य है कि प्रदूषण के खतरों के प्रति लोगों को जागरूक करना और पर्यावरण संरक्षण के महत्व को समझाना है. यह दिन उन लोगों की स्मृति में भी समर्पित है, जिन्होंने वर्ष 1984 के भोपाल गैस त्रासदी में अपनी जान गंवाई थी.

राष्ट्रीय प्रदूषण नियंत्रण दिवस का मुख्य उद्देश्य है कि प्रदूषण के खतरों के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाना और पर्यावरण की सुरक्षा और संरक्षण के लिए कदम उठाना. औद्योगिक आपदाओं को रोकने के लिए उपाय सुनिश्चित करना. प्रदूषण नियंत्रण से संबंधित सरकारी नीतियों को बढ़ावा देना.

ज्ञात है कि वर्ष1984 में मध्य प्रदेश के भोपाल में यूनियन कार्बाइड नामक कंपनी से मिथाइल आइसोसाइनेट गैस का रिसाव हुआ था. यह भारत के इतिहास की सबसे भीषण औद्योगिक दुर्घटनाओं में से एक थी. इस त्रासदी में हजारों लोग मारे गए और लाखों लोग इससे प्रभावित हुए.

राष्ट्रीय प्रदूषण नियंत्रण दिवस हमें यह याद दिलाता है कि एक स्वस्थ और स्वच्छ पर्यावरण न केवल हमारे लिए, बल्कि आने वाली पीढ़ियों के लिए भी आवश्यक है.
