हर वर्ष 24 जनवरी को उत्तर प्रदेश का स्थापना दिवस मनाया जाता है. यह दिन हमें याद दिलाता है कि कैसे “यूनाइटेड प्रोविंस” से बदलकर वर्ष 1950 में उत्तर प्रदेश का जन्म हुआ और आज यह भारत का सबसे अधिक जनसंख्या वाला राज्य बन चुका है.
उत्तर प्रदेश का इतिहास हजारों वर्ष पुराना है, लेकिन एक प्रशासनिक इकाई के रूप में इसका आधुनिक स्वरूप ब्रिटिश काल में गढ़ा गया. वर्ष 1902: इसे ‘नॉर्थ-वेस्टर्न प्रोविंस’ से बदलकर ‘यूनाइटेड प्रोविंस ऑफ आगरा एंड अवध’ नाम दिया गया. वर्ष 1935 नाम संक्षिप्त कर ‘यूनाइटेड प्रोविंस’ (संयुक्त प्रांत) कर दिया गया.
24 जनवरी 1950 को भारत के तत्कालीन गवर्नर जनरल ने ‘यूनाइटेड प्रोविंस ऑर्डर 1950’ पारित किया और राज्य का नाम आधिकारिक रूप से उत्तर प्रदेश रखा गया. हालांकि राज्य वर्ष 1950 में बना, लेकिन ‘उत्तर प्रदेश दिवस’ मनाने की परंपरा वर्ष 2017 में तत्कालीन राज्यपाल राम नाईक के सुझाव पर शुरू हुई थी. पहला आधिकारिक समारोह 24 जनवरी 2018 को आयोजित किया गया था.
उत्तर प्रदेश को भारत का ‘राजनीतिक हृदय’ माना जाता है. यहाँ से 80 लोकसभा सांसद आते हैं, और इस राज्य ने देश को 9 प्रधानमंत्री दिए हैं. अयोध्या, काशी (वाराणसी) और मथुरा जैसे केंद्र न केवल धार्मिक आस्था के स्तंभ हैं, बल्कि अब ये ‘टूरिज्म इकोनॉमी’ के नए मॉडल के रूप में उभर रहे हैं.
मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ के निर्देश पर इसे पूरे राज्य में सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रमों, प्रदर्शनियों और मेलों के रूप में मनाया जाता है. इस वर्ष उत्तर प्रदेश का स्थापना दिवस का आयोजन विशेष रूप से भव्य है क्योंकि यह भारत के ‘अमृत काल’ और राज्य की आर्थिक शक्ति बनने की दिशा में एक बड़ा कदम है. हर वर्ष की तरह इस वर्ष भी थीम रखी गई है. इस वर्ष की थीम “विकसित उत्तर प्रदेश, विकसित भारत”. यह प्रधानमंत्री के 2047 तक भारत को विकसित राष्ट्र बनाने के दृष्टिकोण के साथ राज्य के योगदान को रेखांकित करती है.
राज्य स्तरीय मुख्य कार्यक्रम लखनऊ स्थित ‘राष्ट्र प्रेरणा स्थल’ पर आयोजित किया जा रहा है. इसके अलावा नोएडा शिल्प हाट में भी बड़े स्तर पर तीन दिवसीय (24-26 जनवरी) समारोह हो रहा है. वहीँ, ‘एक जनपद-एक उत्पाद’ (ODOP) की सफलता के बाद, इस बार ‘एक जनपद-एक व्यंजन’ मुख्य आकर्षण है. जैसे गोरखपुर का ‘लिट्टी-चोखा’, आगरा का पेठा और अवध की बिरयानी को वैश्विक पहचान दिलाने का प्रयास किया जा रहा है.
वर्तमान समय के उत्तर प्रदेश ‘एक्सप्रेसवे प्रदेश’ के रूप में अपनी पहचान बना चुका है.एक तरफ गंगा एक्सप्रेसवे और जेवर इंटरनेशनल एयरपोर्ट जैसे प्रोजेक्ट्स राज्य की रफ़्तार को बढ़ा रहे हैं वहीँ, ‘ईज ऑफ डूइंग बिजनेस’ में सुधार और कानून व्यवस्था के कड़े होने से ग्लोबल इन्वेस्टर्स समिट के माध्यम से करोड़ों का निवेश धरातल पर उतर रहा है.
वर्तमान समय का उत्तर प्रदेश अपनी पुरानी ‘बीमारू राज्य’ वाली छवि को पीछे छोड़कर 1 ट्रिलियन डॉलर की अर्थव्यवस्था बनने की दिशा में अग्रसर है. उत्तर प्रदेश स्थापना दिवस हमें याद दिलाता है कि विविधता में एकता और परंपरा के साथ आधुनिकता का समन्वय ही उत्तर प्रदेश की असली ताकत है.

Uttar Pradesh Foundation Day
Every year, January 24th marks the foundation day of Uttar Pradesh. This day reminds us how Uttar Pradesh was born in 1950 from the “United Provinces” and has become India’s most populous state.
Uttar Pradesh’s history dates back thousands of years, but its modern form as an administrative unit was shaped during the British period. In 1902, it was renamed from “North-Western Provinces” to “United Provinces of Agra and Awadh.” In 1935, the name was shortened to “United Provinces.”
On January 24th, 1950, the then Governor General of India passed the “United Provinces Order 1950,” officially renaming the state Uttar Pradesh. Although the state was formed in 1950, the tradition of celebrating “Uttar Pradesh Day” began in 2017 at the suggestion of then Governor Ram Naik. The first official celebration was held on January 24, 2018.
Uttar Pradesh is considered the “political heart” of India. It sends 80 Lok Sabha MPs, and the state has given the country nine Prime Ministers. Centers like Ayodhya, Kashi (Varanasi), and Mathura are not only pillars of religious faith but are also emerging as new models of the tourism economy.
On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, it is celebrated throughout the state with cultural programs, exhibitions, and fairs. This year’s Uttar Pradesh Foundation Day celebrations are particularly grand as it marks a major step towards India’s “Amrit Kaal” (Amrit Kaal) and the state’s transition to becoming an economic power. As with every year, a theme has been set. This year’s theme is “Developed Uttar Pradesh, Developed India.” It underlines the state’s contribution to the Prime Minister’s vision of making India a developed nation by 2047.
The main state-level event is being held at the “Rashtra Prerna Sthal” in Lucknow. Additionally, a large-scale three-day event (January 24-26) is being held at the Noida Crafts Haat. Following the success of the “One District-One Product” (ODOP) initiative, this time the “One District-One Cuisine” initiative is the main attraction. Efforts are being made to give global recognition to products like Gorakhpur’s “Litti-Chokha,” Agra’s “Petha,” and Awadh’s “Biryani.”
Currently, Uttar Pradesh has established itself as the “Expressway State.” Projects like the Ganga Expressway and Jewar International Airport are accelerating the state’s growth, while improvements in ease of doing business and tightening law and order are bringing in billions of dollars in investment through the Global Investors Summit.
Currently, Uttar Pradesh is shedding its former image as a “BIMARU state” and moving towards becoming a $1 trillion economy. Uttar Pradesh Foundation Day reminds us that unity in diversity and the integration of tradition with modernity are Uttar Pradesh’s true strengths.
