1. वनस्पति विज्ञानी पंचानन माहेश्वरी: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1904 को वनस्पति विज्ञानी पंचानन माहेश्वरी का जन्म जयपुर (राजस्थान में हुआ था. माहेश्वरी ने इलाहाबाद विश्वविद्यालय में शिक्षा प्राप्त की और आगरा कॉलेज से अध्यापन कार्य आरंभ किया था. पंचानन माहेश्वरी ने पादप भ्रूणविज्ञान पर विशेष कार्य किया था. भ्रूणविज्ञान और पादप क्रियाविज्ञान के सम्मिश्रण से इन्होंने एक नई शाखा का विकास कियाथा. जिससे फूलों के विभिन्न भागों की कृत्रिम पोषण द्वारा वृद्धि कराने में पर्याप्त सफलता मिली थी. माहेश्वरी ने अपने विषय के अनेक अंतर्राष्ट्रीय सम्मेलनों में भारत का प्रतिनिधित्व किया. टिशू कल्चर प्रयोगशाला की स्थापना तथा टेस्ट ट्यूब कल्चर पर शोध के लिए लंदन की रॉयल सोसाइटी ने पंचानन माहेश्वरी को अपना फैलो बनाकर सम्मानित किया था.  
2. गणितज्ञ शकुंतला देवी: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1936 में गणितज्ञ शकुंतला देवी का जन्म बंगलौर (कर्नाटक) के कन्नड़ ब्राह्मण परिवार में हुआ था. गरीब परिवार में जन्म होने के कारण शकुंतला की शिक्षा नहीं हो पाई थी. उनके पिता सर्कस के कलाकार थे. जब शकुंतला की उम्र तीन वर्ष की थी तब वो अपने पिता को ताश के खेल में 03 बार हराया था. जब शकुंतला के इस गन के बारें पता चला तब उन्होंने शकुंतला देवी के प्रोग्राम आयोजित करने लगे. शकुंतला देवीबचपन से ही अद्भुत प्रतिभा की धनी एवं मानसिक परिकलित्र (गणितज्ञ) थीं. शकुंतला देवी का विवाह वर्ष 1960 में कोलकत्ता के एक आई.ए. एस अधिकारी के साथ हुआ था लेकिन जल्द ही दोनों का संबंध विच्छेद हो गया था. 16 वर्ष की अवस्थ में शकुंतला देवी को बहुत ही प्रसिद्ध मिली, जब इन्होंने दो 13 अंकों की संख्याओं का गुणनफल 28 सेकंड में निकाल कर उस समय के संसार के सबसे तेज कंप्यूटर को 10 सेकंड के अंतर से हराया था. इस घटना के बाद शकुंतला देवी का नाम ‘भारतीय मानव कंप्यूटर’ के रूप में विख्यात हो गया था. 
3. संस्कृत भाषा के पंडित गंगानाथ झा: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1941 को संस्कृत भाषा के प्रकाण्ड पंडित गंगानाथ झा का निधन इलाहाबाद, उत्तर प्रदेश में हुआ था.
4. जूनागढ़ मुक्त कराया: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1947 को भारत सरकार ने सैन्य कार्यवाई द्धारा जूनागढ़ मुक्त कराया था.
5. अभिनेत्री तन्वी आज़मी: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1960 को अभिनेत्री तन्वी आज़मी का जन्म मुंबई में हुआ था. उनके पिता का नाम डा. मनोहर खेर और माँ का नाम उषा किरण है जो कि एक मराठी अभिनेत्रीं हैं. उनकी चचेरी बहन का नाम ममता कुलकर्णी है जो कि अभिनेत्रीं हैं. तन्वी आजमी ने अपने कैरियर की शुरुआत वर्ष 1985 में टेलीविजन शो ‘जीवनरेखा लाइफलाइन’ से की थी. तन्वी आजमी ने अपने फ़िल्मी अभिनय कैरियर की शुरुआत वर्ष 1998 में फिल्म दुश्मन से की थी. तन्वी आजमी ने सिनेमैटोग्राफर बाबा आज़मी से शादी की है.
6. स्वतंत्रता सेनानी पूरन चन्द जोशी: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1980 को स्वतंत्रता सेनानी पूरन चन्द जोशी का निधन नई दिल्ली में हुआ था.
7. अभिनेत्री पायल रोहतगी: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1984 को अभिनेत्री पायल रोहतगी का जन्म तेलंगाना ( हैदराबाद ) में हुआ था. उनके पिता का नाम उनके पिता शशांक रोहतगी है जो कि एक पूर्व केमिकल इंजीनियर हैं और उनकी माँ का नाम वीना रोहतगी हैं जो कि एक पूर्व पर्यवेक्षक शिक्षक हैं. उन्होंने अपनी प्रारम्भिक शिक्षा अहमदाबाद के ‘उदगाम स्कूल’ और ‘ट्रिनिटी इंग्लिश स्कूल’ से की बाद में पायल ने बी.टेक करने के लिए लालभाई दलपतभाई कॉलेज ऑफ इंजीनियरिंग में दाखिला लिया था. पायल रोहतगी ने अपने कैरियर की शुरुआत मॉडलिंग से की थी. पायल रोहतगी ने अपने अभिनय कैरियर की शुरुआत वर्ष 2002 में फिल्म “ये क्या हो रहा है” से की थी. उन्होंने कई टीवी धारावाहिकों के लिए भी काम किया है.
8. संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा को सम्बोधित: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2001 में पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री स्व. अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी ने संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा के 75वें सत्र को को सम्बोधित किया था.
9. राष्ट्रपति के. आर. नारायणन: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2005 में पूर्व राष्ट्रपति के. आर. नारायणन का निधन नई दिल्ली में हुआ था. 
10. वैज्ञानिक हरगोविन्द खुराना: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2011 में जैव रसायनज्ञ, शरीर विज्ञान के क्षेत्र में चिकित्सा के ‘नोबेल पुरस्कार’ से सम्मानित हरगोविन्द खुराना का निधन कॉनकॉर्ड, मैसाचुसेट्स, संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका में हुआ था.

1. Botanist Panchanan Maheshwari: – On this day in the year 1904, botanist Panchanan Maheshwari was born in Jaipur (Rajasthan). Maheshwari received education from Allahabad University and started teaching from Agra College. Panchanan Maheshwari did special work on plant embryology. He developed a new branch by combining embryology and plant physiology. Due to this considerable success was achieved in growing different parts of flowers through artificial nutrition. Maheshwari represented India in many international conferences on his subject. The Royal Society of London honoured Panchanan Maheshwari by making him its Fellow for the establishment of a tissue culture laboratory and research on test tube culture.
2. Mathematician Shakuntala Devi: – On this day in the year 1936, Mathematician Shakuntala Devi was born in a Kannada Brahmin family in Bangalore (Karnataka). Shakuntala could not get an education due to her birth in a poor family. His father was a circus artist. When Shakuntala was three years old, she defeated her father three times in a card game. When Shakuntala came to know about this gun, he started organizing programs for Shakuntala Devi. Shakuntala Devi was an amazingly talented mental calculator (mathematician) since childhood. Shakuntala Devi was married to an IA from Kolkata in the year 1960. It was with S Adhikari but soon their relationship broke up. Shakuntala Devi became very famous at the age of 16 when she calculated the product of two 13-digit numbers in 28 seconds and defeated the world’s fastest computer of that time by a margin of 10 seconds. After this incident, Shakuntala Devi’s name became famous as ‘Indian Human Computer’.
3. Pandit Ganganath Jha of Sanskrit language: – On this day in the year 1941, the great Pandit Ganganath Jha of Sanskrit language died in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh.

5. Actress Tanvi Azmi: – On this day in the year 1960, actress Tanvi Azmi was born in Mumbai. Her father’s name is Dr. Manohar Kher and her mother’s name is Usha Kiran, who is a Marathi actress. Her cousin’s sister’s name is Mamta Kulkarni she is an actress. Tanvi Azmi started her career in the year 1985 with the television show Jeevanrekha Lifeline. Tanvi Azmi started her film acting career in the year 1998 with the film Dushman. Tanvi Azmi is married to cinematographer Baba Azmi.
6. Freedom fighter Puran Chand Joshi: – On this day in the year 1980, freedom fighter Puran Chand Joshi died in New Delhi.
7. Actress Payal Rohatgi: – On this day in the year 1984, actress Payal Rohatgi was born in Telangana (Hyderabad). His father’s name is Shashank Rohatgi, who is a former chemical engineer and his mother’s name is Veena Rohatgi, who is a former supervisory teacher. She did her primary education at ‘Udgam School’ and ‘Trinity English School’ in Ahmedabad. Later, Payal was admitted to Lalbhai Dalpatbhai College of Engineering to pursue a B.Tech. Payal Rohatgi started her career in modelling. Payal Rohatgi started her acting career in the year 2002 with the film “Yeh Kya Ho Raha Hai”. He has also worked on many TV serials.
