पौष पुत्रदा एकादशी…

वालव्याससुमनजीमहाराज कहते हैं पौष (पूस) का महीना अत्यंत ही पावन और पवित्र महीना होता है. हिन्दू पंचांग के अनुसार साल के दसवें माह का नाम पौष हैं चुकिं इस महीने में चंद्रमा पुष्य नक्षत्र में रहता है इसीलिये इस मास का नाम पौष पड़ा. महाराजजी कहते हैं कि,  पद्म पुराण में पौषमास के कृष्णपक्ष की एकादशी के बारे में विस्तृत चर्चा की गई है.

महाराजजी कहते हैं कि, पौष (पूस) मास के शुक्ल पक्ष की एकादशी को श्रावण पुत्रदा एकादशी कहते हैं और  इस व्रत की कथा सुनने मात्र से वाजपेयी यज्ञ का फल प्राप्त हो जाता है. संतान सुख की इच्छा रखने वालों इस व्रत का पालन करने से संतान की प्राप्ति होती है. पुराणों के अनुसार दशमी तिथि को शाम में सूर्यास्त के बाद भोजन नहीं करना चाहिए और रात्रि में भगवान का ध्यान करते हुए सोना चाहिए. एकादशी का व्रत रखने वाले को अपने मन को शांत व स्थिर रखना चाहिए, और किसी भी प्रकार के द्वेष की भावना या क्रोध नहीं करना चाहिए साथ ही परनिंदा व चुगली से दूर रहना चाहिए.

व्रत विधि: –

एकादशी के पूर्व दशमी को रात्री में एक बार ही भोजन करना आवाश्यक है उसके बाद दुसरे दिन सुबह उठ कर स्नान आदि कार्यो से निवृत होने के बाद व्रत का संकल्प भगवान विष्णु के सामने संकल्प लेना चाहिए. उसके बाद भगवान विष्णु की मूर्ति या चित्र की स्थापना करें. भगवान विष्णु की पूजा के लिए धूप, दीप, फल और पंचामृ्त से पूजन करना चाहिए. भगवान विष्णु के स्वरूप का स्मरण करते हुए ध्यान लगायें, उसके बाद विष्णु सहस्त्रनाम का पाठ करके, कथा पढ़ते हुए विधिपूर्वक पूजन करें.

पूजन सामाग्री: –

रोली, गोपी चन्दन, गंगा जल, दूध, दही, गाय का घी, दीपक, हरा रंग का धागा, सुपाड़ी, मोगरे की अगरबत्ती, ऋतू फल, फुल, आंवला, अनार, लौंग, नारियल, नीबूं, नवैध, केला, कद्दू का खीर और तुलसी पत्र व मंजरी.

कथा: –

द्वापर युग के आरंभ में महिष्मति नाम की एक नगरी थी, जिसमें महीजित नाम का राजा राज्य करता था, लेकिन पुत्रहीन होने के कारण राजा को राज्य सुखदायक नहीं लगता था. उसका मानना था कि, जिसके संतान न हो, उसके लिए यह लोक और परलोक दोनों ही दु:खदायक होते हैं. पुत्र सुख की प्राप्ति के लिए राजा ने अनेक उपाय किए, परंतु राजा को पुत्र की प्राप्ति नहीं हुई. वृद्धावस्था आती देखकर राजा ने प्रजा के प्रतिनिधियों को बुलाया और कहा, हे “प्रजाजनों” मेरे खजाने में अन्याय से उपार्जन किया हुआ धन नहीं है, न ही मैंने कभी देवताओं तथा ब्राह्मणों का धन भी छीना हूँ. किसी दूसरे की धरोहर को भी मैंने नहीं ‍ली है, प्रजा को पुत्र के समान पालता रहा हूँ.  मैं अपराधियों को पुत्र तथा बाँधवों की तरह दंड देता रहा, कभी भी किसी से घृणा नहीं की, और सबको समान भी माना हूँ, सज्जनों की सदा पूजा करता हूँ, इस प्रकार धर्मपूर्वक राज्य करते हुए भी मेरे पु‍त्र नहीं है. सो मैं अत्यंत दुखी अनुभव कर रहा हूँ, इसका क्या कारण है आपलोग ही बताइए?

राजा महीजित की इस बात को विचारने के लिए मं‍त्री तथा प्रजा के प्रतिनिधि वन को गए, वहाँ बड़े-बड़े ऋषि-मुनियों के दर्शन किए और राजा की उत्तम कामना की पूर्ति के लिए किसी श्रेष्ठ तपस्वी मुनि को देखते-फिरते रहे. एक आश्रम में उन्होंने एक अत्यंत वयोवृद्ध धर्म के ज्ञाता, बड़े तपस्वी, परमात्मा में मन लगाए हुए निराहार, जितेंद्रीय, सनातन धर्म के गूढ़ तत्वों को जानने वाले, समस्त शास्त्रों के ज्ञाता महात्मा लोमश मुनि को देखा, जिनका कल्प के व्यतीत होने पर एक रोम गिरता था. सबने जाकर ऋषि को प्रणाम किया, और उन लोगों को देखकर मुनि ने पूछा कि, आप लोग किस कारण से आए हैं? नि:संदेह मैं आप लोगों का हित ही करूँगा, मेरा जन्म केवल दूसरों के उपकार के लिए हुआ है, इसमें संदेह मत करना. लोमश ऋषि के ऐसे वचन सुनकर सब लोग बोले, “हे महर्षे” आप हमारी बात जानने में ब्रह्मा से भी अधिक समर्थ हैं, अत: आप हमारे इस संदेह को दूर कीजिए. महिष्मति पुरी का धर्मात्मा राजा महीजित प्रजा का पुत्र के समान पालन करता है, फिर भी वह पुत्रहीन होने के कारण दु:खी है. उन लोगों ने आगे कहा कि, हम लोग उसकी प्रजा हैं, और हम सभी राजा के दुःख में दुखी: हैं, अत: आपके दर्शन से हमें पूर्ण विश्वास हो रहा है कि हमारा यह संकट अवश्य दूर हो जाएगा, क्योंकि महान पुरुषों के दर्शन मात्र से भी अनेक कष्ट दूर हो जाते हैं. अत: अब आप कृपा करके राजा के पुत्र होने का उपाय हमें बताने का कष्ट करें.

इन सभी बातों को सुनकर ऋषि ने थोड़ी देर के लिए नेत्र बंद किए और राजा के पूर्व जन्म का वृत्तांत जानकर कहने लगे कि, यह राजा पूर्व जन्म में एक निर्धन वैश्य था. निर्धन होने के कारण इसने कई बुरे कर्म भी किए. यह एक गाँव से दूसरे गाँव व्यापार करने जाया करता था. एक समय ज्येष्ठ मास के शुक्ल पक्ष की द्वादशी के दिन मध्याह्न के समय वह जबकि खुद भी दो दिन से भूखा-प्यासा था, और एक जलाशय पर जल पीने गया. उसी स्थान पर एक तत्काल की ब्याही हुई प्यासी गौ जल पी रही थी.

राजा ने उस प्यासी गाय को जल पीते हुए हटा दिया और स्वयं जल पीने लगा, इसीलिए राजा को यह दु:ख सहना पर रहा है. एकादशी के दिन भूखा रहने से वह राजा हुआ और प्यासी गौ को जल पीते हुए हटाने के कारण पुत्र वियोग का दु:ख सहना पड़ रहा है. ऐसा सुनकर सब लोग कहने लगे कि महात्मन्, कोई उपाय हो तो हमें बताइए, किस प्रकार राजा का यह पाप नष्ट हो जाए. लोमश मुनि ने कहा कि, श्रावण शुक्ल पक्ष की एकादशी को जिसे पुत्रदा एकादशी भी कहते हैं, तुम सब लोग व्रत करो और रात्रि को जागरण करो तो इससे राजा का यह पूर्व जन्म का पाप अवश्य नष्ट हो जाएगा, साथ ही राजा को पुत्र की अवश्य प्राप्ति होगी. लोमश ऋषि के ऐसे वचन सुनकर मंत्रियों सहित सारी प्रजा नगर को वापस लौट आई, और जब श्रावण शुक्ल एकादशी आई, तो ऋषि की आज्ञानुसार सबने पुत्रदा एकादशी का व्रत और जागरण किया. इसके पश्चात द्वादशी के दिन इसके पुण्य का फल राजा को दिया गया. उस पुण्य के प्रभाव से रानी ने गर्भ धारण किया और प्रसवकाल समाप्त होने पर उसके एक बड़ा तेजस्वी पुत्र पैदा हुआ. अत: संतान सुख की इच्छा हासिल करने वाले इस व्रत को अवश्य करें. इसके माहात्म्य को सुनने से मनुष्य सभी पापों से मुक्त हो जाता है, और इस लोक में संतान सुख भोगकर परलोक में स्वर्ग को प्राप्त होता है.

ध्यान दें….

प्रातः काल सूर्योदय से पूर्व उठकर स्नान करे तथा स्वच्छ वस्त्र धारण कर भगवान् विष्णु की प्रतिमा के सामने घी का दीपक जलाएं, और भगवान् विष्णु की पूजा में तुलसी, ऋतु फल एवं तिल का प्रयोग अवश्य करें. व्रत के दिन अन्न वर्जित करें, निराहार रहें और शाम में पूजा के बाद चाहें तो फल ग्रहण कर सकते है. यदि आप किसी कारण व्रत नहीं रखते हैं तो भी, एकादशी के दिन चावल का प्रयोग भोजन में नहीं करना चाहिए. एकादशी के दिन रात्रि जागरण का बड़ा महत्व होता है, अगर संभव हो तो, रात में जगकर भगवान का भजन कीर्तन करें. एकादशी के दिन विष्णुसहस्रनाम का पाठ करने से भगवान विष्णु की विशेष कृपा प्राप्त होती है. अगले दिन यानी द्वादशी तिथि को ब्राह्मण भोजन करवाने के बाद स्वयं भोजन करें.

एकादशी का फल: –

एकादशी प्राणियों के परम लक्ष्य, भगवद भक्ति, को प्राप्त करने में सहायक होती है. यह दिन प्रभु की पूर्ण श्रद्धा से सेवा करने के लिए अति शुभकारी एवं फलदायक माना गया है. इस दिन व्यक्ति इच्छाओं से मुक्त हो कर यदि शुद्ध मन से भगवान की भक्तिमयी सेवा करता है तो वह अवश्य ही प्रभु की कृपापात्र बनता है.

Paush Putrada Ekadashi…

Valvyassumanji Maharaj says that the month of Paush (Pus) is very holy and sacred. According to the Hindu calendar, the name of the tenth month of the year is Paush, because in this month the Moon remains in Pushya Nakshatra, hence this month was named Paush. Maharajji says that in Padma Purana, there has been a detailed discussion about Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha of Paushamas.

Maharajji says that Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Paush (Pus) month is called Shravan Putrada Ekadashi and just by listening to the story of this fast one can get the results of Vajpayee Yagya. Those who wish to have a child will be blessed with a child by observing this fast. According to the Puranas, one should not eat food after sunset on Dashami Tithi in the evening and should sleep at night while meditating on God. The person observing Ekadashi fast should keep his mind calm and stable, should not have any kind of hatred or anger and should also stay away from slander and gossip.

Fasting method: –

Before Ekadashi, it is necessary to have food only once in the night on Dashami. After that, after waking up in the morning on the next day and after taking a bath etc., the resolution of the fast should be taken in front of Lord Vishnu. After that install the idol or picture of Lord Vishnu. To worship Lord Vishnu, one should worship with incense, lamps, fruits and Panchamrit. Meditate by remembering the form of Lord Vishnu, after that worship Vishnu Sahastranam and worship him methodically while reading the story.

Worship material: –

Roli, Gopi sandalwood, Ganga water, milk, curd, cow’s ghee, lamp, green thread, betel nuts, Mogra incense sticks, seasonal fruits, flowers, amla, pomegranate, cloves, coconut, lemon, neem, banana, pumpkin. Kheer and basil leaves and manjari.

Story: –

At the beginning of Dwapar Yuga, there was a city named Mahishmati, in which a king named Mahijit ruled, but due to being sonless, the king did not find the kingdom pleasant. He believed that for those who do not have children, both this world and the next world are painful. The king took many measures to get the happiness of a son, but the king did not get a son. Seeing old age approaching, the king called the representatives of the people and said, O “people”, there is no wealth acquired unjustly in my treasury, nor have I ever snatched the wealth of the gods and Brahmins. I have not taken anyone else’s heritage, I have been raising my people like a son. I have been punishing the criminals like my sons and my relatives, never hated anyone, and have treated everyone as equal, always worshippin the gentlemen, thus, despite ruling righteously, I do not have a son. So I am feeling very sad, what is the reason for this, please tell me?

To consider this matter of King Mahijit, the ministers and representatives of the people went to the forest, saw great sages there and kept looking for some great ascetic sage to fulfil the best wish of the king. In an ashram, he saw Mahatma Lomash Muni, a very old scholar of religion, a great ascetic, a fasting person with his mind focused on God, a Jitendriya, an expert in the esoteric elements of Sanatan Dharma, an expert in all the scriptures, who, after the completion of the Kalpa, came to Rome. Was falling. Everyone went and bowed to the sage, and seeing them the sage asked, why have you all come? Without a doubt, I will only do good to you, I was born only to help others, don’t doubt it. Hearing such words of Lomash Rishi, everyone said, “O Maharshe”, you are more capable than Brahma in knowing our words, hence please remove our doubt. Mahishmati, the pious king of Puri, Mahijit, takes care of his subjects like a son, yet he is sad because he is sonless. They further said that, we are his subjects, and we are all saddened by the king’s sorrow, therefore, with your darshan, we are fully confident that our crisis will definitely go away, because just the darshan of great men. Many troubles also go away. So now please please tell us the solution to becoming a king’s son.

Hearing all these things, the sage closed his eyes for a while and after knowing the story of the king’s previous birth, he said that this king was a poor Vaishya in his previous birth. Being poor, he also committed many bad deeds. He used to go from one village to another to do business. Once, on the afternoon of Dwadashi of Shukla Paksha of Jyeshtha month, he himself was hungry and thirsty for two days and went to a reservoir to drink water. At the same place, a soon-to-be-married cow was drinking water.

The king removed that thirsty cow while drinking water and started drinking water himself that is why the king has to bear this sorrow. Due to being hungry on the day of Ekadashi, he became a king and due to removing a thirsty cow while drinking water, he has to bear the sorrow of separation from his son. Hearing this, everyone started saying, Mahatma, if there is any solution then tell us how this sin of the king can be destroyed. Lomash Muni said that, if you all fast on the Ekadashi of Shravan Shukla Paksha, which is also known as Putrada Ekadashi, and keep vigil at night, then this sin of the king’s previous birth will definitely be destroyed, and also the king will definitely get a son. will receive. Hearing such words of sage Lomash, all the people along with the ministers returned to the city, and when Shravan Shukla Ekadashi came, as per the order of the sage, everyone observed the fast and vigil on Putrada Ekadashi. After this, on the day of Dwadashi, the fruits of his virtue were given to the king. Under the influence of that virtue, the queen conceived and at the end of her labor period, a very bright son was born to her. Therefore, those who wish to have children must observe this fast. By listening to its greatness, man becomes free from all sins, and after enjoying the happiness of having children in this world, he attains heaven in the next world.

Pay attention….

Get up in the morning before sunrise, take bath, wear clean clothes, light a ghee lamp in front of the idol of Lord Vishnu, and use basil, seasonal fruits and sesame seeds in the worship of Lord Vishnu. On the day of fasting, abstain from food, remain fasting and if you wish, you can consume fruits after worship in the evening. Even if you do not keep fast for some reason, rice should not be used in food on the day of Ekadashi. Night vigil has great importance on the day of Ekadashi, if possible, stay awake at night and chant the hymns of God. By reciting Vishnusahasranama on the day of Ekadashi, one gets special blessings of Lord Vishnu. Next day i.e. on Dwadashi Tithi, after serving food to Brahmins, eat food yourself.

Result of Ekadashi: –

Ekadashi helps achieve the ultimate goal of living beings, devotion to God. This day is considered very auspicious and fruitful for serving the Lord with full devotion. On this day, if a person becomes free from desires and does devotional service to God with a pure heart, then he becomes blessed by the Lord.
