अरुणाचल प्रदेश और मिजोरम राज्यों को पूर्ण राज्य का दर्जा 20 फरवरी 1987 को मिला था. यह दिन भारत के उत्तर-पूर्वी राज्यों के गठन और उनके सांस्कृतिक, भौगोलिक और ऐतिहासिक महत्व को याद करने के लिए मनाया जाता है. इसिलए हर वर्ष 20 फरवरी को दोनों राज्य अपना स्थापना दिवस मानते हैं.
अरुणाचल प्रदेश को पहले ‘नॉर्थ-ईस्ट फ्रंटियर एजेंसी (NEFA)’ के रूप में जाना जाता था. 20 फरवरी 1987 को यह भारत का 24वाँ राज्य बना. अरुणाचल प्रदेश को “सूर्योदय का प्रदेश” भी कहा जाता है. यह चीन, भूटान और म्यांमार के साथ अंतर्राष्ट्रीय सीमाएँ साझा करता है. वहीं, अरुणाचल प्रदेश की राजधानी ईटानगर है. अरुणाचल प्रदेश में कुल 28 जिले हैं, क्षेत्रफल की दृष्टि से पश्चिमी सियांग सबसे बड़ा जिला है और तवांग सबसे छोटा जिला है.
मिजोरम – पहले यह असम का एक भाग था और वर्ष 1972 में केंद्र शासित प्रदेश बना. उसके बाद 20 फरवरी 1987 को इसे पूर्ण राज्य का दर्जा मिला. मिज़ो जनजातीय समुदायों की संस्कृति और पारंपरिक त्योहारों के लिए प्रसिद्ध है. इसकी राजधानी आइज़ोल है. आइजोल का शाब्दिक अर्थ होता है ” जंगली इलायची का खेत “. मिज़ोरम राज्य में आठ जिले हैं. अरुणाचल प्रदेश के पंद्रह जिलों में सबसे छोटा जिला तवांग जिला है. मिज़ोरम अपनी समृद्ध वनस्पतियों और जीवों के लिए जाना जाता है. आज के दिन इन दोनों राज्यों में विशेष कार्यक्रमों, परेड, सांस्कृतिक प्रस्तुतियों और सरकारी आयोजनों के साथ मनाया जाता है.

The states of Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram got full statehood on 20 February 1987. This day is celebrated to commemorate the formation of the northeastern states of India and their cultural, geographical and historical importance. That is why every year on 20 February both the states celebrate their foundation day.
Arunachal Pradesh was earlier known as ‘North-East Frontier Agency (NEFA)’. On 20 February 1987, it became the 24th state of India. Arunachal Pradesh is also called the “Land of Sunrise”. It shares international borders with China, Bhutan and Myanmar. At the same time, the capital of Arunachal Pradesh is Itanagar. There are a total of 28 districts in Arunachal Pradesh, West Siang is the largest district in terms of area and Tawang is the smallest district.
Mizoram – Earlier it was a part of Assam and became a Union Territory in the year 1972. After that on 20 February 1987, it got the status of a full state. Mizo is famous for the culture and traditional festivals of tribal communities. Its capital is Aizawl. Aizawl means “field of wild cardamom”. There are eight districts in the state of Mizoram. Tawang district is the smallest district among the fifteen districts of Arunachal Pradesh. Mizoram is known for its rich flora and fauna. This day is celebrated in both these states with special programs, parades, cultural presentations and government events.
