विश्व विरासत दिवस, जिसे इंटरनेशनल डे फॉर मोन्यूमेंट्स एंड साइट्स भी कहा जाता है. यह हर वर्ष 18 अप्रैल को मनाया जाता है. इस दिन का उद्देश्य दुनिया भर के लोगों में धरोहरों के महत्व को बढ़ावा देना और उनके संरक्षण के लिए जागरूकता फैलाना है. यह दिन यूनेस्को के सहयोग से इंटरनेशनल काउंसिल ऑन मोन्यूमेंट्स एंड साइट्स (ICOMOS) द्वारा 1983 में स्थापित किया गया था.
इस दिवस को मनाने के लिए विभिन्न देशों में विशेष कार्यक्रम, संगोष्ठियाँ, प्रदर्शनियाँ और विशेष यात्राएं आयोजित की जाती हैं. इसके अलावा, विरासती स्थलों को लोगों के लिए नि:शुल्क या कम लागत पर खोला जाता है ताकि अधिक से अधिक लोग इन स्थलों का अनुभव कर सकें और उनके महत्व को समझ सकें.

World Heritage Day, also known as International Day for Monuments and Sites. It is celebrated every year on 18 April. The purpose of this day is to promote the importance of heritage among people around the world and spread awareness about their conservation. This day was established in 1983 by the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) in collaboration with UNESCO.
Special events, seminars, exhibitions, and special tours are organized in different countries to celebrate this day. Furthermore, heritage sites are opened to the public free of charge or at low cost so that more people can experience these sites and understand their significance.
This day allows us to think that our cultural and natural heritages are not just in the pages of history, but they are an integral part of our shared identity and their conservation is the responsibility of all of us.
