विश्व नागरिक सुरक्षा दिवस हर वर्ष 1 मार्च को मनाया जाता है. यह दिवस अंतर्राष्ट्रीय नागरिक सुरक्षा संगठन (ICDO) द्वारा 1990 में पहली बार मनाया गया था. विश्व नागरिक सुरक्षा दिवस का उद्देश्य नागरिक सुरक्षा के महत्व पर ध्यान केंद्रित करना और लोगों को किसी भी आपात स्थिति में आत्मरक्षा के लिए तैयार करना है. इस दिवस के माध्यम से, लोगों को दुर्घटनाओं, आपदाओं और अन्य आपातकालीन स्थितियों से बचने के उपायों के बारे में जागरूक किया जाता है. इस दिन, सुरक्षा उपायों और सुरक्षा कौशल के बारे में जानकारी दी जाती है तथा सेल्फ डिफेंस के महत्व को भी बताया जाता है.

इतिहास के अनुसार, ICDO की स्थापना 1931 में जिनेवा में हुई थी और 1958 में यह अंतर्राष्ट्रीय नागरिक सुरक्षा संगठन के रूप में पुनर्गठित हुआ. इस संगठन का मुख्य उद्देश्य युद्ध या अन्य संघर्षों के दौरान नागरिक जनसंख्या की सुरक्षा करना है.

2023 के विश्व नागरिक सुरक्षा दिवस की थीम “भविष्य की पीढ़ियों की सुरक्षा और संरक्षा के लिए दुनिया के अग्रणी उद्योग विशेषज्ञों को एकजुट करना” थी. यह थीम नागरिक सुरक्षा के क्षेत्र में विशेषज्ञता और सहयोग को बढ़ावा देने के लिए थी.

World Civil Defense Day is celebrated every year on 1 March. This day was celebrated for the first time in 1990 by the International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO).
