- भारत सरकार अधिनियम 1858 पारित: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1858 को भारत सरकार अधिनियम 1858 पारित हुआ था. इस अधिनियम के तहत भारत के गवर्नर जनरल का नाम बदलकर ‘भारत का वाइसराय’ कर दिया गया था. बताते चलें कि, भारत के पहले वाइसराय लॉर्ड कैनिंग (Lord Canning) थे.
- कथावाचक एवं हिन्दी साहित्यकार रामकिंकर उपाध्याय: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1924 में कथावाचक एवं हिन्दी साहित्यकार रामकिंकर उपाध्याय का जन्म मध्य प्रदेश के जबलपुर शहर में हुआ था. इनकी शिक्षा-दीक्षा जबलपुर व काशी में हुई थी. बाल्यावस्था से ही इनकी मेधा शक्ति इतनी विकसित थी कि क्लिष्ट एवं गम्भीर लेखन, देश-विदेश का विशद साहित्य अल्पकालीन अध्ययन में ही स्मृति पटल पर अमिट रूप से अंकित हो जाता था. आचार्य रामकिंकर उपाध्याय उच्च कोटि के संत थे साथ ही उन्हें ज्ञान-विज्ञान पथ में जितनी गहरी पैठ थी, उतना ही प्रबल पक्ष भक्ति साधना का उनके जीवन में प्रदर्शित होता था.
- चित्रकार दीनानाथ भार्गव: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1927 में चित्रकार दीनानाथ भार्गव का जन्म मध्य प्रदेश के बैतूल जिले के मुलताई में हुआ था. वो शांति निकेतन के कला गुरु नन्दलाल बोस के प्रिय शिष्यों में एक थे. बताते चलें कि, बोस ने ही उन्हें भारतीय संविधान की पांडुलिपि पृष्ठों को डिजाइन करने वाली टीम में चुना था. उन्होंने संविधान निर्माण के दौरान अपना महत्वपूर्ण योगदान दिया था. चित्रकारी और कलाकृति में माहिर दीनानाथ भार्गव उस समय तत्कालीन प्रधानमंत्री इंदिरा गांधी की साड़ियां भी डिजाइन करते थे.
- शायर अब्दुल क़ावी देसनावी: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1930 में उर्दू भाषा के लेखक व शायर अब्दुल क़ावी देसनावी का जन्म बिहार राज्य के नालंदा जिले के तहत ब्लॉक अस्थवान अस्थावां के देसान गांव में हुआ था. इनके पिता का नाम मोहम्मद सईद रजा था. .. की प्रारम्भिक शिक्षा आरा से हुई थी. उन्होंने आगे की पढ़ाई सेंट जेवियर्स कॉलेज, मुंबई से पूरी की थी. वर्ष 1961 में सैफिया पोस्ट ग्रेजुएट कॉलेज में उर्दू विभाग में प्राध्यापक बन गए.
- 29वें मुख्य न्यायाधीश आदर्श सेन आनंद: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1936 में 29वें मुख्य न्यायाधीश आदर्श सेन आनंद का जन्म हुआ था. आदर्श सेन आनंद भारत के 29वें मुख्य न्यायाधीश थे जिनका कार्यकाल 10 अक्टूबर 1998 से 31 अक्टूबर 2001 तक था. न्यायमूर्ति आदर्श सेन आनंद ने एक पुस्तक भी लिखी थी- ‘द कांस्टीट्यूशन ऑफ जम्मू एंड कश्मीर इट्स डिवेलपमेंट एंड कमेंट्स’.
- 35वें मुख्य न्यायाधीश रमेश चंद्र लहोटी: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1940 में 35वें मुख्य न्यायाधीश रमेश चंद्र लहोटी का जन्म मध्य प्रदेश के गुना जिले में हुआ था. न्यायमूर्ति लाहोटी का कार्यकाल एक जून 2004 से एक नवंबर 2005 तक था.
- उपन्यासकार और कवयित्री प्रभा खेतान: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1942 में उपन्यासकार और कवयित्री प्रभा खेतान का जन्म हुआ था. उन्होंने कोलकाता विश्वविद्यालय से दर्शन शास्त्र में एम.ए की डिग्री हासिल की और ‘ज्यां पॉल सार्त्र के अस्तित्त्ववाद’ पर पीएचडी की उपाधि हासिल की. उन्होंने 12 वर्ष की उम्र से ही अपनी साहित्य यात्रा की शुरुआत कर दी थी और उनकी पहली रचना (कविता) सुप्रभात में छपी थी. उन्हें कलकत्ता चैंबर ऑफ कॉमर्स की एकमात्र महिला अध्यक्ष होने का गौरव प्राप्त था. वे केन्द्रीय हिन्दी संस्थान की सदस्या थीं.
