- संगीतकार विष्णु नारायण भातखंडे:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1860 में संगीतकार विष्णु नारायण भातखंडे का जन्म मुंबई प्रांत के बाल केश्वर नामक ग्राम में हुआ था. भातखंडे जी ने संगीत संग्रह का अति वृहद ग्रंथ सर्वप्रथम प्रस्तुत किया है ‘स्वरमालिका’ नामक तालबद सरगमों की पुस्तक गुजराती में सृजित की. इसके अलावा उन्होंने क्रमिक पुस्तक मालिका के 6 भाग भी लिखे थे जिनमें हिंदुस्तान के पुराने उस्तादों के घराने दार चीजें स्वरबद्ध करके प्रकाशित की है.
- चौथे राष्ट्रपति वी. वी. गिरी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1894 में देश के चौथे राष्ट्रपति वी. वी. गिरी का जन्म ब्रह्रापुर, ओड़िशा के एक तेलुगु भाषी ब्राह्मण परिवार में हुआ था. इनका पूरा नाम वाराहगिरि वेंकट गिरि है. गिरि के पिता वी. वी. जोगिआह पंतुलु, बेहरामपुर के एक लोकप्रिय वकील और स्थानीय बार काउंसिल के नेता भी थे. इनकी प्रारंभिक शिक्षा इनके गृहनगर बेहरामपुर में ही संपन्न हुई थी. वेंकट गिरि ने ‘डब्लिन यूनिवर्सिटी’ में क़ानून की पढ़ाई करने के लिए आयरलैंड चले गए. प्रथम विश्व युद्ध के समय वर्ष 1916 में वी. वी. गिरि वापस भारत लौट आए थे. भारत लौटने के तुरंत बाद वह ‘श्रमिक आन्दोलन’ से जुड़ गए साथ ही रेलवे कर्मचारियों के हितों की रक्षा करने के उद्देश्य से उन्होंने बंगाल-नागपुर रेलवे एसोसिएशन की भी स्थापना की थी. 24 अगस्त, 1969 को वी. वी. गिरि ने भारत के चौथे राष्ट्रपति के रूप में पद और गोपनीयता की शपथ ली. वी. वी. गिरी को वर्ष 1975 में भारत के सर्वोच्च नागरिक अलंकरण भारत रत्न से सम्मानित किया गया था.
- अभिनेता प्रेम अदीब:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1916 में अभिनेता प्रेम अदीब का जन्म सुल्तानपुर, उत्तर प्रदेश में हुआ था. प्रेम अदीब का झुकाव बचपन से ही फ़िल्मों की तरफ था. प्रेम अदीब ने अपने फ़िल्मी कैरियर की शुरुआत सामाजिक फ़िल्मों से की थी. वर्ष 1940 तक अदीब धार्मिक फ़िल्मों का एक मशहूर नाम बन चुके थें.
- राजनीतिज्ञ राजनाथ सिंह:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1951 में राजनीतिज्ञ राजनाथ सिंह का जन्म उत्तर प्रदेश राज्य के वाराणसी जिले के एक छोटे से ग्राम भाभोरा में एक राजपूत परिवार में हुआ था. उनके पिता का नाम राम बदन सिंह और माता का नाम गुजराती देवी था. राजनाथ सिंह 13 वर्ष की उम्र में राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघ से जुड़ गए थे. वर्ष 1969 -71 के बीच वह गोरखपुर में अखिल भारतीय विद्यार्थी परिषद (आरएसएस के छात्र संगठन) के संगठनात्मक सचिव थे. वर्ष 1991 में पहली बार उत्तर प्रदेश के शिक्षा मंत्री बने थे. वर्ष 2000 में उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री बने थे. वर्तमान समय में राजनाथ सिंह देश के रक्षा मंत्री हैं.
- दस्यु सुंदरी फूलन देवी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1963 में दस्यु सुंदरी फूलन देवी का जन्म उत्तर प्रदेश के एक छोटे से गाँव गोरहा का पूर्वा में एक मल्लाह के घर में हुआ था.
- संगीतकार नंदिनी श्रीकर:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1969 को संगीतकार नंदिनी श्रीकर का जन्म हैदराबाद, आंध्रा प्रदेश में हुआ था. नंदिनी की उम्र महज 03 वर्ष थीं उसी उम्र से उन्होंने वीणा, सितार और गिटार सीखना शुरू कर दिया था. पढ़ाई खत्म होने के बाद वह एक सॉफ्टवेयर कम्पनी में इंजीनियर के पद पर कार्यरत थी. एक दिन उन्हें सिंगर हरिराम से मुलाकात हुई और उन्होंने संगीत में कैरियर बनाने की सलाह दी. नंदिनी ने पहला डुएट गायक केके लव यू गाया. यह गाना लोगों को काफी पसंद आया और रातोंरात स्टार बन गयी. नंदिनी का पहला डेब्यू सोलो एल्बम बीते पल साल 2011 में रिलीज किया गया था.
- राजनीतिज्ञ हेमन्त सोरेन:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1975 में राजनीतिज्ञ हेमन्त सोरेन का जन्म रामगढ़ में हुआ था.
- झण्डा गीत के रचयिता श्यामलाल गुप्त “पार्षद”: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1977 में झण्डा गीत ‘विजयी विश्व तिरंगा प्यारा’ के रचयिता श्यामलाल गुप्त “पार्षद” का निधन हुआ था.

- पार्श्व गायिका शेफाली अलवेरेस:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1983 में हुआ था. उन्होंने अपनी शुरुआती पढ़ाई होली क्रॉस कान्वेंट स्कूल से पूरी की है. उन्होंने अपनी स्नातक की पढ़ाई मुंबई के सेंट जेवियर कॉलेज से सम्पन्न की है. शेफाली ने अपने कैरियर की शुरुआत वर्ष 2010 में फिल्म सलीम के गाने ओह मामा मिया से की थी. शेफाली को हिंदी सिनेमा में पहचान देसी बॉयज़ के गाने सुबह होने दे से मिली.

- Composer Vishnu Narayan Bhatkhande:- On this day in the year 1860, musician Vishnu Narayan Bhatkhande was born in a village named Bal Keshwar in Mumbai province. Bhatkhande ji first presented a very extensive book of music collection and created a book of tailbud sargams named ‘Swarmalika’ in Gujarati. Apart from this, he had also written 6 parts of the serial series of books, in which the old master’s Gharana Dar things of India have been published in vocal form.
- Fourth President V.V. Giri:- On this day in the year 1894, the country’s fourth President V.V. Giri was born in a Telugu-speaking Brahmin family of Brahrapur, Odisha. His full name is Varahgiri Venkata Giri. Giri’s father, V.V. Jogiah Pantulu, was a popular lawyer in Behrampore and also a leader of the local Bar Council. His early education was completed in his hometown Behrampur only. Venkat Giri went to Ireland to study law at ‘Dublin University’. VV Giri returned to India in the year 1916 during the First World War. Soon after returning to India, he joined the ‘Labour Movement’ and also established the Bengal-Nagpur Railway Association with the aim of protecting the interests of railway employees. On August 24, 1969, V.V. Giri took the oath of office and secrecy as the fourth President of India. VV Giri was awarded the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award in the year 1975.
