1. मुहम्मदशाह रौशन अख्तर:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1702 में मुग़ल वंश का 14वाँ बादशाह मुहम्मदशाह रौशन अख्तर का जन्म हुआ था. मुहम्मदशाह रौशन अख़्तर ने लम्बे समय वर्ष 1719-48 ई. तक मुग़ल साम्राज्य पर शासन किया था.
2. साहित्यकार अवनीन्द्रनाथ ठाकुर:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1871 में साहित्यकार अवनीन्द्रनाथ ठाकुर का जन्म पूर्वी बंगाल के जोड़ासाँको प्रांत में एक ठाकुर परिवार में हुआ था. वर्ष 1890 में अवनींद्र नाथ टैगोर ने कोलकाता के संस्कृति कॉलेज में स्कूल ऑफ आर्ट में अपना दाखिला लिया था. सांस्कृतिक ग़ुलामी से मुक्ति के लिए उन्होंने अपने अग्रज गगनेन्द्रनाथ ठाकुर के सहयोग से 1907 में कोलकाता (भूतपूर्व कलकत्ता) में ‘इंडियन सोसायटी ऑफ़ ओरियण्टल आर्टस’ नामक संस्था की स्थापना की थी. अवनीन्द्रनाथ के सर्वाधिक प्रख्यात शिष्य नंदलाल बोस थे.
3. उचित वक्ता समाचार पत्र:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1880 में उचित वक्ता समाचार पत्र को प्रकाशित किया गया था. यह पत्र पण्डित दुर्गाप्रसाद मिश्र द्वारा निकाला गया था. इस अखबार का प्रकाशन 15 वर्षों तक किया गया. इस अखबार ने इल्बर्ट बिल, प्रेस क़ानून और वर्नाक्यूलर प्रेस एक्ट का बड़ी निर्भीकता से विरोध किया था.
4. मलिक खिज़ार हयात तिवाना:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1900 में भारतीय राज्य पंजाब के राजनेता, सैन्य अधिकारी तथा ज़मींदार मलिक खिज़ार हयात तिवाना का जन्म मुजफ़्फ़राबाद,पंजाब में हुआ था.
5. विद्वान वासुदेव शरण अग्रवाल:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1904 में विद्वान वासुदेव शरण अग्रवाल का जन्म गाजियाबाद (उत्तर प्रदेश) के ‘खेड़ा’ नामक गाँव में हुआ था। इनकी छोटी उम्र में ही इनका माँ का देहांत हो गया था, जिस कारण दादी ने ही उनका लालन-पालन किया था. वर्ष 1920 में राष्ट्रपिता महात्मा गाँधी ने ‘भारतीय इतिहास’ में प्रसिद्ध अपना ‘असहयोग आंदोलन’ आंरभ किया, उस समय वासुदेव शरण लखनऊ में शिक्षा प्राप्त कर रहे थे. आंदोलन के प्रभाव से वासुदेव शरण  सरकारी विद्यालय छोड़ दिया और खादी के वस्त्र धारण कर लिया था. वासुदेव शरण अग्रवाल ने उत्तर प्रदेश में ‘मथुरा संग्रहालय’ के क्यूरेटर (संग्रहाध्यक्ष) के रूप में भी अपनी सेवाएँ प्रदान की थीं. वासुदेव शरण अग्रवाल भारत के इतिहास, संस्कृति, कला एवं साहित्य के विद्वान व ‘साहित्य अकादमी’ द्वारा पुरस्कृत हिन्दी गद्यकार थे.
6. अंग्रेजी वस्तुओं का बहिष्कार:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1905 में भारतीय राष्ट्रीय कांग्रेस ने अंग्रेजी वस्तुओं का बहिष्कार किया था. बताते चलें कि, वर्ष 1905 में कलकत्ता (अब कोलकाता) के टाउनहॉल में विशाल जनसभा का आयोजन किया गया था. बंगाल विभाजन के विरोध में लाखों लोग इस जनसभा में शामिल हुए थे. इसी सभा में ब्रिटिश वस्तुओं के बहिष्कार का प्रस्ताव पास हुआ और स्वदेशी आंदोलन की औपचारिक शुरुआत हुई थी.
7. राजनीतिज्ञ सचिन्द्र लाल सिंह:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1907 में राजनीतिज्ञ सचिन्द्र लाल सिंह का जन्म अगरतला में हुआ था.
8. कृषि वैज्ञानिक एम. एस. स्वामीनाथन:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1926 में कृषि वैज्ञानिक एम. एस. स्वामीनाथन का जन्म तमिलनाडु में हुआ था. उन्होंने मेक्सिको के बीजों को पंजाब की घरेलू क़िस्मों के साथ मिश्रित करके उच्च उत्पादकता वाले गेहूँ की संकर बीज विकसित किए थे.
9. नोबेल पुरस्कार विजेता रवीन्द्रनाथ टैगोर:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1941 में नोबेल पुरस्कार विजेता रवीन्द्रनाथ टैगोर का निधन हुआ था.
10. औपचारिक रूप से हस्तांतरित:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1947 में मुंबई नगर निगम को बिजली और परिवहन व्यवस्था औपचारिक रूप से हस्तांतरित हुई थी.
11. गायक सुरेश वाडेकर:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1955 में गायक सुरेश वाडेकर का जन्म कोल्हापुर, बॉम्बे में हुआ था. उन्हें बचपन से ही गायकी का शौक था. दस वर्ष की आयु से ही उन्होंने अपने गुरु पंडित जियालाल वसंत से विधिवत संगीत की शिक्षा लेना शुरू कर दिया था. करीब 20 वर्ष की उम्र में सुरेश ने एक संगीत प्रतियोगिता ‘सुर श्रृंगार’ में भाग लिया, जहां संगीतकार जयदेव और रवींद्र जैन बतौर निर्णायक मौजूद थे. रवींद्र जैन ने राजश्री प्रोडक्शन की फिल्म पहेली में उनसे पहला फिल्मी गीत ‘वृष्टि पड़े टापुर टुपुर’ गवाया था वहीं, जयदेव ने उन्हें फिल्म गमन में ‘सीने में जलन’ गीत गाने का मौका दिया था. उन्होंने आर. डी. बर्मन और गुलजार के साथ मिलकर कुछ गैर फिल्मी गीतों के कई अलबम भी बनाए, लेकिन वे व्यावसायिक दृष्टि कामयाब नहीं हो पाई. वर्ष 2007 में महाराष्ट्र सरकार ने उन्हें महाराष्ट्र प्राइड अवार्ड से सम्मानित किया था.
12. चौथी लोकसभा के सदस्य पी. सी. अदिचन:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1976 में पी. सी. अदिचन का निधन हुआ था.
13. अभिनेत्री शौर्या चौहान:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1983 में अभिनेत्री शौर्या चौहान का जन्म हैदराबाद के एक राजस्थानी परिवार में हुआ था. शौर्या की प्रारम्भिक शिक्षा हैदराबाद से हुई है. शौर्या ने अपने कैरियर की शुरुआत बतौर मॉडल की थी, उसके बाद वह वर्ष 2006 में किंगफ़िशर स्विमसूट कैलेंडर गर्ल्स की फोटोशूट का हिस्सा बनी. उन्होंने अपने बॉलीवुड कैरियर की शुरुआत सलमान खान स्टारर फिल्म क्योँकि से की थी.
14. विश्व अमेचर बिलियर्ड्स चैंपियनशिप:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1985 में गीत सेठी विश्व अमेचर बिलियर्ड्स चैंपियनशिप जीतने वाले तीसरे भारतीय बने थे.
15. पार्श्व गायिका आकृति कक्क्ड़:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1986 में आकृति कक्क्ड़ का जन्म नई दिल्ली में हुआ था. आकृति ने अपने कैरियर की शुरुआत फिल्म दस के गाने छम्म से वो आ जाये से की थी. उन्होंने अब तक बॉलीवुड में कई बेहतरीन गाने गायें हैं. इसके आलावा आकृति ने सोनी म्यूजिक इंडिया के तहत अपना एल्बम लांच किया था. आकृति को हिंदी सिनेमा में पहचान हम्प्टी शर्मा की दुल्हनियां के गाने सैटरडे-सैटरडे से मिली थी.
16. अभिनेत्री योगिता बिहानी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1995 में अभिनेत्री योगिता बिहानी का जन्म नई दिल्ली में हुआ था. योगिता की प्रारम्भिक शिक्षा सुमेरमल जैन पब्लिक स्कूल से अपनी हाई स्कूल की शिक्षा पूरी की. योगिता ने कंप्यूटर विज्ञान में स्नातक की पढ़ाई पूरी करने के लिए दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय में एडमिशन लिया. दिल्ली से स्नातक की पढ़ाई पूरी करने के बाद, वह फरीदाबाद, दिल्ली एनसीआर में रेडफूडी स्टार्टअप में शामिल हो गईं और वर्ष 2016 तक विभिन्न पदों पर काम किया था. ग्लैमर की दुनिया में योगिता का कैरियर वर्ष 2018 में शुरू हुआ था. उन्होंने फेमिना मिस इंडिया राजस्थान में टॉप 3 प्रतियोगियों में चुनी गईं थी. योगिता को सबसे बड़ा ब्रेक वर्ष 2018 में मिला जब उन्हें सोनी टीवी पर उनके आगामी गेम शो दस का दम के लिए सलमान खान के साथ प्रोमो की शूटिंग के लिए चुना गया था.

18. ब्याज दर में बढ़ोतरी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2008 में सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के देना बैंक ने अपनी प्रधान ब्याज दरें 75% बढ़ाकर 14.25% करने की घोषणा की साथ ही सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के कार्पोरेशन बैंक ने अपनी बेंचमार्क ब्याज दर में 0.50% बढ़ोतरी किए जाने की घोषणा की थी.
19. गीतकार गुलशन बावरा:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2009 में गीतकार गुलशन बावरा का निधन मुंबई में हुआ था.
20. ऋण समझौते:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2010 में भारत के वित्तमंत्री प्रणब मुखर्जी और बांग्लादेश की प्रधानमंत्री शेख हसीना के बीच हुए दोनों देशों के सबसे बड़े ऋण समझौते के अनुसार भारत बांग्लादेश को एक अरब डॉलर ऋण देगा।
21. भारी मात्रा में तेल रिसाव शुरु:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2010 में मुंबई से 10 नॉटिकल मील की दूरी पर दो जहाजों एमएससी चित्रा और खलीजा-3 के आपस में टकराने के बाद समुद्र में भारी मात्रा में तेल रिसाव शुरु हो गया था.
22. राजनीतिज्ञ एम. करुणानिधि:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2018 में तमिलनाडु राजनीती के भीष्म पितामह एम. करुणानिधि का निधन कावेरी अस्पताल चेन्नई में हुआ था.

1. Muhammad Shah Roshan Akhtar: – On this day in the year 1702, the 14th emperor of the Mughal dynasty Muhammad Shah Roshan Akhtar was born. Muhammad Shah Roshan Akhtar ruled the Mughal Empire for a long time till the year 1719-48 AD.
2. Writer Abanindranath Thakur:- On this day in the year 1871, litterateur Abanindranath Thakur was born in a Thakur family in Jorasanko province of East Bengal. In the year 1890, Abanindranath Tagore enrolled himself in the School of Art at Sanskriti College, Kolkata. To get rid of cultural slavery, he established an organization named ‘The Indian Society of Oriental Arts’ in Kolkata (formerly Calcutta) in 1907 with the help of his elder Gaganendranath Thakur. The most famous disciple of Abanindranath was Nandlal Bose.
3. Proper speaker newspaper: – On this day in the year 1880, the proper speaker newspaper was published. This letter was taken out by Pandit Durgaprasad Mishra. This newspaper was published for 15 years. This newspaper boldly opposed the Ilbert Bill, the Press Law, and the Vernacular Press Act.
4. Malik Khizar Hayat Tiwana:- On this day in the year 1900, politician, military officer, and zamindar of the Indian state of Punjab, Malik Khizar Hayat Tiwana was born in Muzaffarabad, Punjab.
5. Scholar Vasudev Sharan Agarwal:- On this day in the year 1904, scholar Vasudev Sharan Agarwal was born in a village named ‘Kheda’ in Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh). His mother died at a young age, due to which his grandmother took care of him. In the year 1920, Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi started his ‘Non-Cooperation Movement’ famous in ‘Indian History’, at that time Vasudev Sharan was studying in Lucknow. Due to the influence of the movement, Vasudev Sharan left the government school and wore Khadi clothes. Vasudev Sharan Agarwal also served as the curator of the ‘Mathura Museum’ in Uttar Pradesh. Vasudev Sharan Agarwal was a scholar of history, culture, art, and literature of India and a Hindi prose writer awarded by ‘Sahitya Akademi’.
6. Boycott of English goods:- On this day in the year 1905, the Indian National Congress boycotted English goods. Let us tell that in the year 1905, a huge public meeting was organized in the town hall of Calcutta (now Kolkata). Lakhs of people participated in this public meeting to protest against the partition of Bengal. 10. Formally transferred:- On this day in the year 1947, the power and transport system was formally transferred to the Mumbai Municipal Corporation.
11. Singer Suresh Wadekar:- On this day in the year 1955, singer Suresh Wadekar was born in Kolhapur, Bombay. He was fond of singing since childhood. From the age of ten, he started taking formal music lessons from his guru Pandit Jiyalal Vasant. At the age of about 20, Suresh participated in a music competition ‘Sur Shringar’, where musicians Jaidev and Ravindra Jain were present as judges. Ravindra Jain made him sing his first film song ‘Vrishti Pade Tapur Tupur’ in Rajshree Production’s film Paheli, while Jaidev gave him an opportunity to sing the song ‘Seene Mein Jalan’ in the film Gaman.
