1. बहमनी सल्तनत:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1347 में अलाउद्दीन बहमन शाह ने बहमनी सल्तनत की स्थापना की थी. इसका प्रतिद्वंदी हिन्दू विजयनगर साम्राज्य था. वर्ष 1518 में इसका विघटन हो गया जिसके फलस्वरूप – गोलकोण्डा, बीजापुर, बीदर, बीरार और अहमदनगर के राज्यों का उदय हुआ था.
2. भारत की खोज:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1492 में इटली के नाविक क्रिस्टोफर कोलंबस तीन जहाजों के साथ स्पेन से भारत की खोज पर रवाना हुए थे.
3. प्रथम इतिहासकार मुहणौत नैणसी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1670 में प्रथम इतिहासकार मुहणौत नैणसी का निधन हुआ था. राजस्थान के क्रमबद्ध इतिहास लेखन के प्रथम इतिहासकार थे. नैणसी महाराजा जसवन्त सिंह के राज्यकाल में मारवाड़ के दीवान थे. मुहणौत नैणसी भारत के उन क्षेत्रों का अध्यन करने के लिये प्रसिद्ध हैं जो वर्तमान में राजस्थान कहलाता है.
4. युद्ध में परास्त किया:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1749 में चन्दा साहिब ने कर्नाटक के तत्कालीन नवाब अनवररुद्दीन को अंबर के युद्ध में परास्त कर, उसका अंत कर दिया था. बताते चलें कि, 8 वर्षो की कैद के बाद वर्ष 1748 में चंदासाहब के फ्रांसीसी गवर्नर डूप्ले तथा निजामी के दावेदार मुजफ्रफरजंग की सहायता से तत्कालीन नवाब अनवररुद्दीन को अंबर के युद्ध में परास्त कर अंत का दिया था.
5. ग्वालियर पर कब्जा:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1780 में मेजर पोफम की अगुआयी में कैप्टेन ब्रुस ने ग्वालियर पर कब्जा किया था.
6. कवि मैथलीशरण गुप्त:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1886 में कवि मैथलीशरण गुप्त का जन्म चिरगाँव, झाँसी, उत्तर प्रदेश के एक संभ्रांत वैश्य परिवार में हुआ था. उनके पिता का नाम ‘सेठ रामचरण’ और माता का नाम ‘श्रीमती काशीबाई’ था. इनके पिता ‘कनकलता’ उप नाम से कविता किया करते थे. गुप्त जी को कवित्व प्रतिभा और राम भक्ति पैतृक देन में मिली थी. वे बाल्यकाल में ही काव्य रचना करने लगे. गुप्त की प्रारम्भिक शिक्षा चिरगाँव, झाँसी के राजकीय विद्यालय में हुई थी. प्रारंभिक शिक्षा समाप्त करने के उपरान्त गुप्त जी झाँसी के मेकडॉनल हाईस्कूल में अंग्रेज़ी पढ़ने के लिए भेजे गए, पर वहाँ इनका मन न लगा और दो वर्ष बाद घर पर ही इनकी शिक्षा का प्रबंध किया. मैथिलीशरण स्वभाव से ही लोक संग्रही कवि थे और अपने युग की समस्याओं के प्रति विशेष रूप से संवेदनशील रहे. अपने साहित्यिक गुरु महावीर प्रसाद द्विवेदी की प्रेरणा से गुप्त जी ने ‘भारत-भारती’ की रचना की और उसी समय से आपको ‘राष्ट्रकवि’ के नाम से अभिनंदित किया गया था. वर्ष 1954 में उन्हें ‘पद्मभूषण’ अलंकार से सम्मानित किया गया था.
7. क्रांतिकारी और पाकिस्तान में प्रथम उच्चायुक्त श्रीप्रकाश:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1890 में क्रांतिकारी और पाकिस्तान में प्रथम उच्चायुक्त श्रीप्रकाश का जन्म वाराणसी के एक धनी और प्रतिभाशाली अग्रवाल परिवार में हुआ था. उनके पिता ‘भारत रत्न’ डॉ. भगवान दास विश्व विख्यात दार्शनिक थे. श्रीप्रकाश की शिक्षा कैम्ब्रिज यूनिवर्सिटी, लन्दन में हुई थी. उन्होंने वकालत न करके वाराणसी के ‘सेंट्रल हिन्दू कॉलेज’ में और बाद में ‘काशी विद्यापीठ’ में अध्यापन का कार्य किया.’होमरूल लीग’ से श्रीप्रकाश का सार्वजनिक जीवन आरम्भ हुआ था. वर्ष 1946 में श्रीप्रकाश संविधान परिषद के सदस्य बने और स्वतंत्रता के बाद उन्हें 1947 में भारत का प्रथम उच्चायुक्त बना कर पाकिस्तान भेजे गये थे.
8. मौलवी खुदाबक़्श खान:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1908 में मौलवी खुदाबक़्श खान का निधन पटना में हुआ था.
9. शायर शकील बदायूँनी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1908 में गीतकार और शायर शकील बदायूँनी का जन्म उत्तर प्रदेश के बदायूँ में हुआ था. बदायूँनी का लालन पालन और शिक्षा नवाबों के शहर लखनऊ में हुई थी. लखनऊ ने उन्हें एक शायर के रूप में शकील अहमद से शकील बदायूँनी बना दिया. बदायूँनी ने अपनी शायरी में ज़िंदगी की हकीकत को बयाँ किया था. उन्होंने ऐसे गीतों की रचना की जो ज्यादा रोमांटिक नहीं होते हुये भी दिल की गहराइयों को छू जाते थे. वर्ष 1947 में अपनी पहली ही फ़िल्म दर्द के गीत ‘अफ़साना लिख रही हूँ…’ की अपार सफलता से शकील बदायूँनी कामयाबी के शिखर पर जा बैठे. शकील बदायूँनी ने क़रीब तीन दशक के फ़िल्मी जीवन में लगभग 90 फ़िल्मों के लिये गीत लिखे. उनके फ़िल्मी सफर पर एक नजर डालने से पता चलता है कि उन्होंने सबसे ज्यादा फ़िल्में संगीतकार नौशाद के लिए लिखे थे.
10. संगीतकार जयदेव:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1919 में संगीतकार तथा बाल अभिनेता जयदेव का जन्म लुधियाना में हुआ था. इनका पूरा नाम जयदेव वर्मा था. जयदेव प्रारंभ में फ़िल्म स्टार बनना चाहते थे. पन्द्रह साल की उम्र में जयदेव घर से भागकर मुम्बई चले गये. होने वाडिया फ़िल्म कंपनी की आठ फ़िल्मों में बाल कलाकार के रूप में काम करने के बाद उनका मन उचाट हो गया और उन्होंने वापस लुधियाना जाकर प्रोफेसर बरकत राय से संगीत की तालीम लेनी शुरु कर दी. जयदेव को हिंदी फ़िल्म इतिहास में सर्वश्रेष्ठ संगीत निर्देशन के लिए राष्ट्रीय फ़िल्म पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया है.
11. कन्नड़ लेखक यशवंत चित्ताल:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1928 में कन्नड़ लेखक यशवंत चित्ताल का जन्म उत्तर कन्नड़ जिले के हनेहल्ली नामक स्थान पर हुआ था.
12. अभिनेत्री शशिकला:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1933 में अभिनेत्री शशिकला का जन्म शोलापुर, महाराष्ट्र के एक परंपरावादी मराठी ‘जवळकर’ परिवार में हुआ था. उनके पिता कपड़े के कारोबारी थे. शशिकला सार्वजनिक गणेशोत्सव के कार्यक्रमों में हिस्सा लेती थी और एक अच्छी अभिनेत्री मानी जाती थी। इसलिए लोगों की सलाह पर हमारा परिवार मुंबई चला आया ताकि मैं फ़िल्मों में काम करके पैसा कमा सकूं. शशिकला के मुताबिक़़ उर्दू तो बहुत दूर की बात, उनकी हिंदी भी साफ़ नहीं थी. उन दिनों नूरजहां फ़िल्म ‘ज़ीनत’ में अपनी बेटी के रोल के लिए किसी नई लड़की की तलाश में थीं. शशिकला उनसे मिलीं, इंटरव्यू दिया लेकिन ज़ुबान की वजह से पास नहीं हो पाईं. निर्माता-निर्देशक नूरजहां के शौहर सैयद शौक़त हुसैन रिज़वी ने शशिकला को फ़िल्म की कव्वाली ‘आहें ना भरीं शिक़वे ना किए’ में बैठाने का फ़ैसला किया. जिसमें शशिकला का साथ आगे चलकर श्यामा के नाम से मशहूर हुईं थी. शशिकला ने जितनी भी फ़िल्मों में खलनायिका की भूमिका निभाई, उन फ़िल्मों को दर्शक कभी भुला नहीं सकेंगे.
13. शास्त्रीय गायक छन्नूलाल मिश्रा:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1936 में शास्त्रीय गायक छन्नूलाल मिश्रा का जन्म हरिहरपुर, आजमगढ़ जिले में हुआ था. उनके दादा, गुदई महाराज शांता प्रसाद एक प्रसिद्ध तबला वादक थे. मिश्रा ने छह साल की उम्र में ही अपने पिता बद्री प्रसाद मिश्र से संगीत की बारीकियां सीखी. छन्नूलाल मिश्रा को नौ साल की उम्र में उनके पहले गुरु उस्ताद गनी अली साहब ने खयाल सिखाया. छन्नूलाल मिश्रा को किराना घराना और बनारस गायकी के मुख्‍य गायक हैं. उन्‍हें खयाल, ठुमरी, भजन, दादरा, कजरी और चैती के लिए जाने जाते हैं.
14. क्रिकेटर अपूर्व सेनगुप्ता:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1938 में क्रिकेटर अपूर्व सेनगुप्ता का जन्म लखनऊ में हुआ था.
15. कवि उत्पल कुमार बसु:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1939 में बांग्ला सहित्य के कवि उत्पल कुमार बसु का जन्म भवानीपुर, कोलकाता में हुआ था.
16. कृष्णराज वोडेयार चतुर्थ:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1940 में कृष्णराज वोडेयार चतुर्थ (नलवडी कृष्ण राज वाडियार ) का निधन हुआ था.
17. बाबा हरभजन सिंह:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1941 में भारतीय सेना के सैनिक बाबा हरभजन सिंह का जन्म पंजाब के कपूरथला ज़िले में ब्रोंदल नामक ग्राम में हुआ था. बताते चलें कि, भारतीय सेना के सैनिकों द्वारा “नाथुला का नायक” कहा जाता है और उनके सम्मान में एक मंदिर भी बनाया गया है.
18. क्रिकेटर बलविंदर संधू:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1956 में क्रिकेटर बलविंदर संधू का जन्म मुंबई में हुआ था.
19. पत्रकार देवदास गांधी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1957 में महात्मा गांधी के पुत्र और पत्रकार देवदास गांधी का निधन मुंबई में हुआ था.
20. क्रिकेटर गोपाल शर्मा:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1960 में क्रिकेटर गोपाल शर्मा का जन्म कानपुर में हुआ था.

22. गायक मनमोहन वारिस:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1966 में गायक मनमोहन वारिस का जन्म होशियारपुर में हुआ था. बताते चलें कि, मनमोहन को द किंग ऑफ भांगड़ा के नाम से जाने जाते हैं.
23. राजनीतिज्ञ त्रिभुवन नारायण सिंह:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1982 में राजनीतिज्ञ त्रिभुवन नारायण सिंह का निधन वाराणसी में हुआ था.
24. फुटबॉलर सुनील चेत्री:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1984 में फुटबॉलर सुनील चेत्री का जन्म सिकंदराबाद में हुआ था. बताते चलें कि, सुनील चेत्री को वर्ष 2000-19 तक छह बार एआईएफएफ प्लेयर ऑफ द ईयर के खिताब से सम्मानित किए गए हैं.
25. जनसेवा के लिए रेमन मैगसेसे पुरस्कार:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1985 में बाबा आम्टे को जनसेवा के लिए रेमन मैगसेसे पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया था.
26. स्वतंत्रता सेनानी बनारसी दास:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1985 में स्वतंत्रता सेनानी बनारसी दास का निधन हुआ था.

28. स्वामी चिन्मयानंद:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1993 में आध्यात्मिक चिंतक तथा वेदान्त दर्शन के विद्वान स्वामी चिन्मयानंद का निधन कैलिफ़ोर्निया, अमरीका में हुआ था.
29. इमारत ढहने:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1998 में मुंबई के बांद्रा में इमारत ढहने से 35 व्यक्तियों की मौत हुई थी.
30. सहायता नहीं देगा:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2006 में संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका ने कहा कि वह भारत को यूरेनियम संवर्धन में सहायता नहीं देगा.

34. राष्ट्रीय खेल विश्व विद्यालय विधेयक:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2018 में लोकसभा ने राष्ट्रीय खेल विश्वविद्यालय विधेयक 2018 को पारित किया था. भारत का पहला राष्ट्रीय खेल विश्वविद्यालय इंफाल, मणिपुर में खोला गया है.यह खेल शिक्षा पर एकमात्र केंद्रीय विश्वविद्यालय है.
35. नई ऊंचाई पर बंद हुआ:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2018 में बम्बंई शेयर बाजार 37 हजार 556 की नई ऊंचाई पर बंद हुआ। जबकि नेशनल स्टॉक एक्सचेंज का 11 हजार 361 पर पहुंच गया था.

1. Bahmani Sultanate:- On this day in the year 1347, Alauddin Bahman Shah established the Bahmani Sultanate. Its rival was the Hindu Vijayanagara Empire. It disintegrated in the year 1518, as a result of which the states of Golconda, Bijapur, Bidar, Birar, and Ahmednagar emerged.
2. Discovery of India: – On this day in the year 1492, Italian sailor Christopher Columbus left Spain with three ships to discover India.
3. First Historian Muhnaut Nainasi:- On this day in the year 1670, the first historian Muhnaut Nainasi passed away. He was the first historian to write the systematic history of Rajasthan. Nainsi was the Diwan of Marwar during the reign of Maharaja Jaswant Singh. Muhnaut Nainasi is famous for studying those areas of India which are currently called Rajasthan.
4. Defeated in the war: – On this day in the year 1749, Chanda Sahib defeated the then Nawab of Karnataka Anwarruddin in the battle of Amber and put an end to him. Let us tell that after being imprisoned for 8 years, in the year 1748, with the help of Dupleix, the French governor of Chandasaheb and Muzaffarjung, the claimant of Nizami, the then Nawab Anwarruddin was defeated in the Battle of Amber.
5. The capture of Gwalior: – On this day in the year 1780, under the leadership of Major Popham, Captain Bruce captured Gwalior.
6. Poet Maithlisharan Gupta:- On this day in the year 1886, poet Maithlisharan Gupta was born in an elite Vaishya family in Chirgaon, Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. His father’s name was ‘Seth Ramcharan’ and his mother’s name was ‘Shrimati Kashibai’. His father used to do poetry under the pen name ‘Kanaklata’. Gupta ji had inherited the talent of poetry and devotion to Ram. He started composing poetry in his childhood. Gupta’s early education was done in the government school of Chirgaon, Jhansi. After completing his primary education, Gupta was sent to Macdonald High School in Jhansi to study English, but he did not like it there and after two years arranged for his education at home. Maithili Sharan was a folk collector poet by nature and was particularly sensitive to the problems of his era. With the inspiration of his literary guru Mahavir Prasad Dwivedi, Gupta composed ‘Bharat-Bharti’ and from that time he was hailed as a ‘National Poet’. In the year 1954, he was honored with the ‘Padmabhushan decoration.
7. Revolutionary and First High Commissioner in Pakistan Sriprakash:- On this day in the year 1890, revolutionary and first High Commissioner in Pakistan Sriprakash was born in a wealthy and talented Agarwal family of Varanasi. His father ‘Bharat Ratna’ Dr. Bhagwan Das was a world-famous philosopher. Sriprakash was educated at Cambridge University, London. Instead of practicing law, he did teaching work at ‘The Central Hindu College’ of Varanasi and later in ‘Kashi Vidyapeeth’. Sriprakash’s public life started with the ‘Home Rule League’. Sriprakash became a member of the Constituent Assembly in the year 1946 and after independence, he was sent to Pakistan in 1947 as India’s first High Commissioner.
8. Maulvi Khudabaksh Khan:- On this day in the year 1908, Maulvi Khudabaksh Khan died in Patna.
9. Poet Shakeel Badayuni:- On this day in the year 1908, lyricist and poet Shakeel Badayuni was born in Badayun, Uttar Pradesh. Badayuni was brought up and educated in Lucknow, the city of Nawabs. Lucknow transformed him from Shakeel Ahmed to Shakeel Badayuni as a poet. Badayuni expressed the reality of life in his poetry. He composed such songs which, despite not being very romantic, used to touch the depths of the heart. In the year 1947, Shakeel Badayuni sat on the pinnacle of success with the immense success of his first film Dard’s song ‘Afsana Likh Rahi Hoon…’. Shakeel Badayuni wrote songs for about 90 films in his film life of about three decades. A look at his film career shows that he wrote most of the films for composer Naushad.
10. Composer Jaidev:- On this day in the year 1919, musician and child actor Jaidev was born in Ludhiana. His full name was Jaidev Verma. Jaidev initially wanted to become a film star. At the age of fifteen, Jaidev ran away from home and went to Mumbai. After working as a child artist in eight films of Hone Wadia Film Company, he became restless and went back to Ludhiana and started taking music lessons from Professor Barkat Rai. Jaidev has been awarded the National Film Award for Best Music Direction in Hindi film history.
11. Kannada writer Yashwant Chittal:- On this day in the year 1928, Kannada writer Yashwant Chittal was born at Hanehalli in Uttara Kannada district.
12. Actress Shashikala:- On this day in the year 1933, actress Shashikala was born in a traditional Marathi ‘closerkar’ family in Sholapur, Maharashtra. His father was a cloth merchant. Sasikala used to participate in public Ganeshotsav programs and was considered a good actress. So on the advice of people, our family moved to Mumbai so that I could earn money by working in films. According to Sasikala, Urdu was a far cry, her Hindi was also not clear. In those days, Noorjahan was looking for a new girl for the role of her daughter in the film ‘Zeenat’. Shashikala met him and gave an interview but could not pass because of her tongue. Producer-director Noorjahan’s husband Syed Shaukat Hussain Rizvi decided to make Shashikala sit in the film’s qawwali ‘Aahen Na Bhari Shikwe Na Kiye’. Shashikala’s company later became famous as Shyama. The audience will never be able to forget Shashikala’s films in which she played the role of a villain.
13. Classical singer Chhannulal Mishra:- On this day in the year 1936, classical singer Chhannulal Mishra was born in Hariharpur, Azamgarh district. His grandfather, Gudai Maharaj Shanta Prasad was a renowned tabla player. Mishra learned the nuances of music from his father Badri Prasad Mishra at the age of six. Channulal Mishra was taught Khayal at the age of nine by his first guru, Ustad Gani Ali Saheb. Chhannulal Mishra is the main singer of Kirana Gharana and Banaras Gayaki. He is known for Khayal, Thumri, Bhajan, Dadra, Kajri and Chaiti.
14. Cricketer Apoorva Sengupta:- On this day in the year 1938, cricketer Apoorva Sengupta was born in Lucknow.
15. Poet Utpal Kumar Basu:- On this day in the year 1939, poet Utpal Kumar Basu of Bengali literature was born in Bhawanipur, Kolkata.
16. Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV:- On this day in the year 1940, Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV (Nalvadi Krishna Raj Wodeyar) passed away.
