1. ब्रिटिश इंडिया कमिटी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1889 में इंडियन नेशनल कांग्रेस की शाखा में ब्रिटिश इंडिया कमिटी को लंदन में दादाभाई नौरोजी, विलियम वेडरबर्न, डब्ल्यू एस कैन और विलियम डिब्बी के नेतृत्व में खोला गया था.
2. विद्वान राजेन्द्रलाल मित्रा:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1891 में भारत विद्या से संबंधित विषयों के विद्वान राजेन्द्रलाल मित्रा का निधन हुआ था. इन्होंने संस्कृत, फ़ारसी, बंगला और अंग्रेजी भाषाओं में दक्षता-प्राप्त की थी. मित्रा ने अनेक ग्रंथ एवं रचनाओं का संपादन भी किया है.
3. बाल गंगाधर तिलक:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1897 में पहली बार बाल गंगाधर तिलक गिरफ्तार किये गये थे. लोकमान्य तिलक ने अपने पत्र केसरी में “देश का दुर्भाग्य” नामक शीर्षक से लेख लिखा जिसमें ब्रिटिश सरकार की नीतियों का विरोध किया था. तिलक को भारतीय दंड संहिता की धारा 124-ए के अन्तर्गत राजद्रोह के अभियोग में 27 जुलाई 1897 को गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया था साथ ही तिलक को 06 वर्ष के कठोर कारावास के अंतर्गत माण्डले (बर्मा) जेल में बन्द कर दिया गया था.
4. क्रांतिकारी कल्पना दत्त:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1913 में क्रांतिकारी कल्पना दत्त का जन्म चटगांव (अब बांग्लादेश) के श्रीपुर गांव में एक मध्यम वर्गीय परिवार में हुआ था. चटगांव में आरम्भिक शिक्षा के बाद वह उच्च शिक्षा के लिए कोलकाता आईं. प्रसिद्ध क्रान्तिकारियों की जीवनियाँ पढ़कर वह प्रभावित हुईं और शीघ्र ही स्वयं भी कुछ करने के लिए आतुर हो उठीं। 18 अप्रैल, 1930 ई. को ‘चटगांव शस्त्रागार लूट’ की घटना होते ही कल्पना दत्त कोलकाता से वापस चटगांव चली गईं और क्रान्तिकारी सूर्यसेन के दल से संपर्क कर लिया. कल्पना और उनके साथियों ने क्रान्तिकारियों का मुकदमा सुनने वाली अदालत के भवन को और जेल की दीवार उड़ाने की योजना बनाई. लेकिन पुलिस को सूचना मिल जाने के कारण इस पर अमल नहीं हो सका. पुरुष वेश में घूमती कल्पना दत्त गिरफ्तार कर ली गईं, और अभियोग सिद्ध न होने पर उन्हें छोड़ दिया गया.
5. रमाबाई:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1935 में डा.भीमराव अम्बेडकर की पत्नि माता रमाबाई का निधन हुआ था.
6. लेखिका भारती मुखर्जी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1940 में भारतीय मूल की प्रसिद्ध लेखिका भारती मुखर्जी का जन्म पश्चिम बंगाल के कलकत्ता (वर्तमान कोलकाता) शहर में हुआ था. उन्होंने भारत समेत इंग्लैंड और स्विट्जरलैंड में स्कूली शिक्षा हासिल की और अमरीका में रचनात्मक लेखन में एडवांस उपाधि ली थी. भारती ने पूरी दुनिया में प्रवासियों की आवाज़ और समस्याओं को पुरजोर आवाज़ दी थी. भारती की कहानियों और उपन्यासों में महिला चरित्र अक्सर यह सवाल करते हैं कि – “मैं कौन हूँ”.
7. साहित्यकार पीताम्बर दत्त बड़थ्वाल:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1944 में साहित्यकार पीताम्बर दत्त बड़थ्वाल का निधन हुआ था. वे विद्वान आचार्य रामचन्द्र शुक्ल के सहयोगी रहे थे. उन्होंने ‘गोरख बानी’ और ‘रामानन्द’ की रचना की थी.
8. राजनीतिज्ञ उद्धव ठाकरे:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1960 में राजनीतिज्ञ तथा महाराष्ट्र के 19वें मुख्यमंत्री उद्धव ठाकरे का जन्म मुंबई में बाल ठाकरे और मीना ठाकरे के घर हुआ था. उद्धव की स्कूली शिक्षा महाराष्ट्र के बालमोहन विद्यामंदिर से हुई है और जमशेतजी जीजेभॉय स्कूल ऑफ आर्ट से स्नातक हुए हैं. उद्धव ने राजनीति में प्रवेश तब किया जब उन्हें 2002 में बृहन मुंबई नगर निगम (बीएमसी) में शिवसेना का अभियान प्रभारी बनाया गया और पार्टी ने जीत हासिल की. उन्हें वर्ष 2003 में शिवसेना के कार्यकारी अध्यक्ष के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया था और वे वर्ष 2006 में अपनी पार्टी के राजनीतिक मुखपत्र सामना के प्रधान संपादक भी बने. उसी वर्ष, राज ठाकरे ने शिवसेना से अलग अपनी एक पार्टी ‘महाराष्ट्र नवनिर्माण सेना’ का गठन किया. वर्ष 2012 में अपने पिता की मृत्यु के बाद उद्धव ठाकरे ने पार्टी की बागडोर संभाली और वर्ष 2013 में अध्यक्ष बनें. उन्होंने 28 नवंबर 2019 को महाराष्ट्र के मुख्यमंत्री के रूप में शपथ ली थी.
9. गायिका के. एस. चित्रा:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1963 में गायिका के. एस. चित्रा का जन्म तिरुअनंतपुरम (केरल) में हुआ था. उनके पिता कृष्णन नायर, जो कि एक प्रसिद्ध गायक और संगीतकार थे. चित्रा ने अपने पिता के मार्गदर्शन में संगीत की प्रारंभिक शिक्षा प्राप्त की थी. बताते चलें कि, दक्षिण भारतीय फिल्मों के पार्श्व गायन के इतिहास में वह पहली महिला गायक हैं, जिन्हें दक्षिण भारत की चार राज्यों की सरकार द्वारा सर्वश्रेष्ठ पार्श्व गायिका के लिए सम्मानित किया गया. चित्रा को वर्ष 2021 में ‘पद्म भूषण’ से भी सम्मानित किया गया है.
10. अभिनेता और टीवी कलाकार आसिफ़ बसरा:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1967 में अभिनेता और टीवी कलाकार आसिफ़ बसरा का जन्म अमरावती, महाराष्ट्र में हुआ था. आसिफ को अमेरिकन कॉमेडी फिल्म आउटसोर्स्ड में अपनी भूमिका के लिए सबसे ज्यादा जाना जाता था. आसिफ ने अनुराग कश्यप की ब्लैक फ्राइडे और राहुल ढोलकिया की फिल्म परजानिया में अभिनय किया, जिसे काफी आलोचना मिली थी. आसिफ ने हिंदी फिल्म लम्हा में एक दर्जी की भूमिका निभाई थी.
11. राजनीतिज्ञ पत्तम थानु पिल्लई:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1970 में राजनीतिज्ञ पत्तम थानु पिल्लई का निधन हुआ था.
12. एथलीट सीमा पुनिया:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1983 में एथलीट सीमा पुनिया का जन्म सोनीपत (हरियाणा) में हुआ था. बताते चलें कि, सीमा की खेल में कैरियर की शुरुआती 11 वर्ष की उम्र से हुई थी. सीमा पुनिया को शुरू में दौड़ने और कूदने का शौक था, हर्डल्स और लंबी कूद उनका पसंदीदा इवेंट था. लेकिन सीमा अपने कोच की सलाह पर उन्होंने डिस्कस थ्रो में अपना कैरियर बनाने का फैसला लिया. वर्ष 2002 में हरियाणा की इस एथलीट ने अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर खुद के आने की घोषणा कर दी. जमैका के किंग्स्टन में आयोजित हुए वर्ष 2002 में विश्व जूनियर चैंपियनशिप में प्रतिस्पर्धा करते हुए सीमा पूनिया ने कांस्य पदक जीता, ये उनकी पहली बड़ी अंतरराष्ट्रीय उपलब्धि थी.
13. पक्षी विज्ञानी और प्रकृतिवादी सालिम अली:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1987 में पक्षी विज्ञानी और प्रकृतिवादी सालिम अली का निधन मुंबई में हुआ था.
14. अभिनेता अमजद ख़ान:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1992 में अभिनेता अमजद ख़ान का निधन मुंबई में हुआ था.
15. निशानेबाजी प्रतियोगिता:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1994 में जसपाल राणा ने विश्व निशानेबाजी प्रतियोगिता में स्वर्ण पदक जीता था. उन्होंने रिकार्ड स्कोर (569/600) बनाकर तहलका मचा दिया था. विश्व निशानेबाजी के नक्शे पर जसपाल राणा का यह पहला स्वर्णिम हस्ताक्षर था.
16. भूतपूर्व उपराष्ट्रपति कृष्णकान्त:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2002 में भूतपूर्व उपराष्ट्रपति कृष्णकान्त का निधन नई दिल्ली में हुआ था.
17. कवि शिवदीन राम जोशी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2006 में कवि शिवदीन राम जोशी का निधन हुआ था.
18. पूर्व राष्ट्रपति डॉ. अब्दुल कलाम:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2015 में पूर्व राष्ट्रपति डॉ. अब्दुल कलाम का शिलांग में निधन हुआ था.
19. भूतपूर्व मुख्यमंत्री एन. धरम सिंह:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2017 में कर्नाटक के भूतपूर्व मुख्यमंत्री एन. धरम सिंह का निधन बेंगलुरु, कर्नाटक में हुआ था.

1. British India Committee: – On this day in the year 1889, the British India Committee was opened in London under the leadership of Dadabhai Naoroji, William Wedderburn, WS Cain, and William Dibby in the Indian National Congress branch.
2. Scholar Rajendralal Mitra: – On this day in the year 1891, Rajendralal Mitra, a scholar of subjects related to Indology, passed away. He had acquired proficiency in Sanskrit, Persian, Bangla, and English languages. Mitra has also edited many texts and compositions.
3. Bal Gangadhar Tilak:- On this day in the year 1897, Bal Gangadhar Tilak was arrested for the first time. Lokmanya Tilak wrote an article titled “The Misfortune of the Country” in his letter Kesari, in which he opposed the policies of the British Government. Tilak was arrested on 27 July 1897 on charges of treason under section 124-A of the Indian Penal Code, as well as Tilak was imprisoned in Mandalay (Burma) jail under rigorous imprisonment for 06 years.
4. Revolutionary Kalpana Dutt:- On this day in the year 1913, revolutionary Kalpana Dutt was born in a middle-class family in Sripur village of Chittagong (now Bangladesh). After her early education in Chittagong, she came to Kolkata for higher education. She was influenced by reading the biographies of famous revolutionaries and soon became eager to do something herself. On April 18, 1930, Kalpana Dutt went back to Chittagong from Kolkata as soon as the incident of ‘Chittagong Armory Loot’ happened and contacted the revolutionary Surya Sen’s group. Kalpana and her companions planned to blow up the court building and the wall of the jail which hears the cases of the revolutionaries. But it could not be implemented because the police got the information. Kalpana Dutt, roaming around in male guise, was arrested, and she was released when the charges were not proved.
5. Ramabai: – On this day in the year 1935, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar’s wife Mata Ramabai passed away.
6. Writer Bharti Mukherjee: – On this day in the year 1940, the famous writer of Indian origin Bharti Mukherjee was born in Calcutta (present Kolkata) city of West Bengal. He was schooled in India, England, and Switzerland and did an advanced degree in creative writing in the US. Bharti gave a strong voice to the voice and problems of migrants all over the world. Female characters in Bharti’s stories and novels often ask the question – “Who am I”.
7. Writer Pitambar Dutt Badthwal:- On this day in the year 1944, writer Pitambar Dutt Badthwal passed away. He was an associate of scholar Acharya Ramchandra Shukla. He composed ‘Gorakh Bani’ and ‘Ramanand’.
8. Politician Uddhav Thackeray:- On this day in the year 1960, politician and 19th Chief Minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray was born in Mumbai to Bal Thackeray and Meena Thackeray. Uddhav did his schooling at Balmohan Vidyamandir in Maharashtra and graduated from Jamsetji Jejebhoy School of Art. Uddhav entered politics when he was made campaign in-charge of the Shiv Sena in the Brihan Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in 2002 and the party won. He was appointed as the working president of Shiv Sena in the year 2003 and also became the editor-in-chief of his party’s political mouthpiece Saamana in the year 2006. In the same year, Raj Thackeray formed his own party ‘Maharashtra Navnirman Sena’ apart from Shiv Sena. After the death of his father in the year 2012, Uddhav Thackeray took over the reins of the party and became the president in the year 2013. He was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra on 28 November 2019.
9. Singer K. S. Chitra: On this day in the year 1963, singer K. S. Chitra was born in Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala). His father Krishnan Nair, was a famous singer and musician. Chitra received her early education in music under the guidance of her father. Let us tell that, in the history of playback singing in South Indian films, she is the first female singer, who was awarded the best playback singer by the government of four states of South India. Chitra has also been awarded ‘Padma Bhushan’ in the year 2021.
10. Actor and TV artist Asif Basra: – On this day in the year 1967, actor and TV artist Asif Basra was born in Amravati, Maharashtra. Asif was best known for his role in the American comedy film Outsourced. Aasif starred in Anurag Kashyap’s Black Friday and Rahul Dholakia’s film Parzania, which received critical acclaim. Asif played the role of a tailor in the Hindi film Lamha.
