1. वेल्लोर किले पर विजय:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1678 में छत्रपति शिवाजी महाराज ने वेल्लोर किले पर विजय प्राप्त की थी. वर्ष 1634 के आस-पास बीजापुर में आदिल शाह का शासन का हुआ करता था. उस दौर में आदिल शाह बूढ़ा होकर कमजोर हो गया था जिसका फायदा जिसके कारण प्रजा में अराजकता फ़ैल गई थी. उसकी कमजोरी का फ़ायदा उठाकर सामंतों ने बीजापुर के अधिकतर किलों पर अधिकार जमा लिया था. शासक को कमजोर पड़ता देख शिवाजी ने मराठाओं को संगठित किया. और बीजापुर के दुर्गों को जीतने की योजना बनाई. रोहिदेश्वर, तोरणा, राजगढ़, कोंडना और पुरंदर के क़िलों को जीतकर उन्होंने बीजापुर के ताकतवर हिस्सों पर क़ब्ज़ा जमा लिया था.
2. भारत के पहले पायलट इंद्रलाल राय:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1678 में भारत के पहले पायलट, इंद्रलाल राय, लंदन के आसपास जर्मन विमान के साथ संघर्ष में शहीद हो गए थे. बताते चलें कि, भारतीय इतिहास में एक ऐसे पायलट हैं जिनका दुश्मनों के मार गिराने का रिकॉर्ड वर्तमान समय तक कोई नहीं तोड़ पाया. उन्होंने यह रिकॉर्ड प्रथम विश्व युद्ध (1914-1918) के दौरान बनाया था. ज्ञात है की, इंद्रलाल राय रॉयल एयर फ़ोर्स में भारतीय मूल के एकमात्र लड़ाकू पायलट थे. वह बहादुरी के लिए प्रतिष्ठित फ्लाइंग क्रॉस पुरस्कार जीतने वाले भी पहले भारतीय थे.
3. तेजा सिंह अकरपुरी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1894 में पहली लोकसभा के सदस्य सरदार तेजा सिंह अकरपुरी का जन्म हुआ था.
4. संगीतकार विनायकराव पटवर्धन:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1898 में संगीतकार विनायकराव पटवर्धन का जन्म मिरज़ (महाराष्ट्र) में हुआ था. विनायकराव पटवर्धन के संगीत की प्रारंभिक शिक्षा उनके चाचा केशवराव से प्राप्त की थी. उसके बाद उन्होंने करीब 09 वर्ष की आयु से पं. विष्णुदिगंबर पलुस्कर से शिक्षा लेना शुरू किया था. शुरूआती दौर में विनायकराव बाल गंधर्व की नाटक मंडली में काम किया था. वर्ष 1932 में ‘गंधर्व महाविद्यालय’, पूना की स्थापना करके विनायकराव ने आजीवन संगीत सेवा की. उन्होंने कई पाठ्य पुस्तकें भी लिखीं, जिनमें ‘राग-विज्ञान’ प्रमुख है.
5. पार्श्व गायक मुकेश:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1923 में पार्श्व गायक मुकेश का जन्म दिल्ली में हुआ था. इनके पिता जोरावर चंद्र माथुर था जो पेशे से अभियंता थे. दसवीं तक शिक्षा पाने के बाद पी.डब्लु.डी. दिल्ली में असिस्टेंट सर्वेयर की नौकरी करने वाले मुकेश अपने सहपाठियों के बीच के. एल. सहगल के गीत सुना कर उन्हें अपने स्वरों से सराबोर किया करते थे. बताते चले कि, मुकेश जब अपनी बहन की शादी में गाना गए रहे थे तो उनके दूर के रिश्तेदार ने उनकी आवाज को पहचानकर उन्हें मुंबई ले गए. उन्होंने मुकेश के लिये रियाज़ का भी पूरा इन्तज़ाम किया. सुरों के बादशाह मुकेश ने अपना कैरियर का सफ़र वर्ष 1941 में फ़िल्म ‘निर्दोष’ से शुरू किया. मुकेश ने इस फिल्म में अदाकारी के सात गीत भी गए थे. मुकेश का सफर तो वर्ष 1941 से ही शुरू हो गया था, मगर एक गायक के रूप में उन्होंने अपना पहला गाना वर्ष 1945 में फ़िल्म ‘पहली नजर’ में गाया. शायद उस वक्त मोतीलाल को उनकी मेहनत भी कामयाब होती नज़र आई होगी. के. एल. सहगल की आवाज़ में गाने वाले मुकेश ने पहली बार वर्ष 1949 में फ़िल्म ‘अंदाज़’ से अपनी आवाज़ को अपना अंदाज़ दिया. मुकेश ने उस जमाने के बहुचर्चित गायक के. एल. सहगल की गायन शैली की छत्रछाया में रहकर अपने गायन की शुरूआत की थी. मुकेश ने गाने तो हर किस्म के गाये, मगर दर्द भरे गीतों की चर्चा मुकेश के गीतों के बिना अधूरी है. “दर्द का बादशाह” कहे जाने वाले मुकेश ने ‘अगर ज़िन्दा हूँ मै इस तरह से’, ‘ये मेरा दीवानापन है’ (फ़िल्म यहुदी से), ‘ओ जाने वाले हो सके तो लौट के आना’ (फ़िल्म बन्दिनी से), ‘दोस्त दोस्त ना रहा’ (फ़िल्म सन्गम से), जैसे गानों को अपनी आवाज़ के जरिए दर्द में ड़ुबो दिया तो वही ‘किसी की मुस्कुराहटों पे हो निसार’ (फ़िल्म अन्दाज़ से), ‘जाने कहाँ गये वो दिन’ (फ़िल्म मेरा नाम जोकर से), ‘मैंने तेरे लिये ही सात रंग के सपने चुने’ (फ़िल्म आनन्द से), ‘कभी कभी मेरे दिल में खयाल आता है’ …
6. स्वतंत्रता सेनानी यतींद्र मोहन सेन गुप्ता:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1933 में स्वतंत्रता सेनानी यतींद्र मोहन सेन गुप्ता निधन रांची में हुआ था.
7. राष्ट्रीय ध्वज को वर्तमान स्वरूप में:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1947 में पिंगली वेंकैय्या द्वारा निर्मित भारत के राष्ट्रीय ध्वज को उसके वर्तमान स्वरूप में भारत की संविधान सभा द्वारा अपनाया गया था. बताते चलें कि, स्वतंत्रता मिलने के बाद इसके रंग और उनका महत्व बना रहा लेकिन, ध्वज में चलते हुए चरखे के स्थान पर सम्राट अशोक के धर्म चक्र को स्थान दिया गया.
8. राजनीतिज्ञ रीता बहुगुणा जोशी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1949 में 17वीं लोकसभा की सांसद रीता बहुगुणा जोशी का जन्म हुआ था. ज्ञात है कि, रीता बहुगुणा जोशी उत्तर प्रदेश के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री हेमवती नंदन बहुगुणा और कमला बहुगुणा की बेटी हैं. उन्होंने इतिहास में पीएचडी किया है साथ ही इलाहाबाद विश्वविद्यालय में मध्ययुगीन और आधुनिक इतिहास में प्रोफेसर भी हैं. रीता बहुगुणा जोशी ने इलाहाबाद की मेयर बनकर वर्ष 1995 में राजनीति में प्रवेश किया. वह वर्तमान में उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार में कैबिनेट मंत्री हैं.
9. राजनीतिज्ञ अनंत कुमार:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1959 में राजनीतिज्ञ अनंत कुमार का जन्म बंगलौर, कर्नाटक में हुआ था. उनके पिता का नाम एच एन नारायण शास्त्री और माता का नाम गिरिजा शास्त्री था. उन्होंने कर्नाटक विश्वविद्यालय से जुड़े केस आर्ट्स कॉलेज, हुबली से कला संकाय (बीए) में स्नातक की उपाधि प्राप्त की साथ ही उन्होंने कर्नाटक विश्वविद्यालय से संबद्ध लॉ कॉलेज जेएसएस से अपने स्नातक कानून (एलएलबी) की पढ़ाई पूरी की. राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघ से प्रभावित होने के कारण, वे अखिल भारतीय विद्यार्थी परिषद के छात्र समूह के सदस्य बने. आपातकाल के दौरान, उन्हें इंदिरा गांधी सरकार द्वारा हजारों अन्य छात्र कार्यकर्ताओं के साथ जेल की यात्रा की. वर्ष 1996 में 11वीं लोक सभा के लिए बेंगलुरू दक्षिण लोकसभा निर्वाचन क्षेत्र से चुने गए. वर्ष 2014 को, कुमार को वर्तमान भारतीय प्रधान मंत्री श्री नरेंद्र मोदी के कैबिनेट में रसायन और उर्वरक मंत्री नियुक्त किया गया था.
10. सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता संदीप पांडेय:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1965 में सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता संदीप पांडेय का जन्म उत्तर प्रदेश में बलिया के एक सम्पन्न ब्राह्मण परिवार में हुआ था. संदीप बनारस हिन्दू विश्वविद्यालय के छात्र रहे. उसके बाद वह कैलीफोर्निया यूनिवर्सिटी, बर्कले से मेकैनिकल इंजीनियरिंग में पी.एच.डी. की डिग्री लेने चले गए. वर्ष 1991 में संदीप पांडेय कैलीफोर्निया यूनिवर्सिटी से पी.एच.डी. लेकर भारत लौटे और आई.आई.टी., कानपुर में प्राध्यापक बन गए. संदीप ने एक जैसी सोच वाले दोस्तों के साथ मिलकर ‘आशा परिवार’ नाम की संस्था का गठन किया. इस संस्था का मुख्य उद्देश्य था कि वह एकदम ग़रीब, उपेक्षित तथा तिरस्कृत लोगों के काम आएँगे, जिन तक लोकतंत्र का लाभ नहीं पहुँच पा रहा है. संदीप पांडेय को ‘रेमन मैग्सेसे पुरस्कार’ से सम्मानित भी किया गया है.
11. महिला चिकित्सक मुत्तू लक्ष्मी रेड्डी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1968 में महिला चिकित्सक मुत्तू लक्ष्मी रेड्डी का निधन हुआ था.
12. देवेंद्र फडणवीस:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1970 में महाराष्ट्र के 18वें मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस का जन्म नागपुर, महाराष्ट्र में हुआ था. फड़नवीस ब्राह्मण परिवार से तालुक रखते हैं और उनके पिता गंगाधर राव राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघ और जनसंघ में रहे हैं. फड़नवीस के पिता राज्य विधान परिषद के सदस्य भी रहे. देवन्द्र ने लॉ से स्नातक किया साथ ही उन्होंने बिजनेस मैनेजमेंट की पढ़ाई भी की. फडनवीस अपने कॉलेज के दिनों में एबीवीपी के एक सक्रिय सदस्य भी थे. वर्ष 2019 में विधानसभा चुनाव के बाद जब वे  रात के अंधेरे में सीएम बने थे तो उन्हें मात्र उसके 80 घंटे में इस्तीफा देना पड़ा था.
13. गायक अरमान मलिक:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1995 में गायक अरमान मलिक का जन्म मुंबई महाराष्ट्र में हुआ था. अरमान मलिक के पिता का नाम डब्बू मलिक है जो भारत के प्रसिद्ध म्यूजिक डायरेक्टर हैं और उनकी माता का नाम ज्योति मलिक है. अरमान के चाचा का नाम है अनु मलिक जो गीतकार और और म्यूजिक कंपोजर हैं. अरमान भारतीय गायक कार इंडस्ट्री के एक ऐसे कलाकार हैं जिन्हें वर्ष 2015 में ग्लोबल म्यूजिक अवार्ड जीतने वाले पहले सबसे कम उम्र के भारतीय बने. उन्हें बेहतर गायिका के लिए “आर डी बर्मन” नामक पुरस्कार से भी सम्मानित किया गया है.
14. पूर्ण सूर्य ग्रहण:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2009 में 21वीं सदी का सबसे लंबा पूर्ण सूर्य ग्रहण लगा था. सूर्यग्रहण की अवधि कुछ स्थानों पर करीब 6 मिनट 39 सेकंड तक रहा था.
15. तापरोधी फफूंदी के बीजाणुओं:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2011 में विवेकानंद इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ ट्रॉपिकल मायकोलॉजी के फफूंदी अनुसंधान दल ने 100-115 डिग्री सेल्सियस तापमान सह सकने वाले तापरोधी फफूंदी के बीजाणुओं की खोज की थी.
16. भारत के 13वें राष्ट्रपति:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2013 में प्रणब मुखर्जी भारत के 13वें राष्ट्रपति निर्वाचित हुए थे.
17. चंद्रयान-2: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2019 में चंद्रयान-2 को श्रीहरिकोटा से ‘जीएसएलवी मार्क 3’ यानी ‘बाहुबली’ रॉकेट द्वारा लॉन्च किया गया था. इसके भी तीन हिस्से थे- ऑर्बिटर, लैंडर विक्रम और रोवर प्रज्ञान.

1. Victory over Vellore Fort: – On this day in the year 1678, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj conquered Vellore Fort. Around the year 1634, Adil Shah used to rule in Bijapur. In that period, Adil Shah had become weak due to old age, due to which anarchy spread among the subjects. Taking advantage of his weakness, the feudatories had taken possession of most of the forts of Bijapur. Seeing the ruler getting weak, Shivaji organized the Marathas. And planned to win the forts of Bijapur. By conquering the forts of Rohideshwar, Torna, Rajgarh, Kondana, and Purandar, he captured the powerful parts of Bijapur.
2. India’s first pilot Indralal Rai:- On this day in the year 1678, India’s first pilot, Indralal Rai, was martyred in a clash with German aircraft around London. Let us tell you that, there is such a pilot in Indian history whose record of killing enemies has not been broken till the present time. He made this record during the First World War (1914-1918). It is known that Indralal Rai was the only fighter pilot of Indian origin in the Royal Air Force. He was also the first Indian to win the prestigious Flying Cross award for bravery.
3. Teja Singh Akarpuri:- On this day in the year 1894, Sardar Teja Singh Akarpuri, a member of the first Lok Sabha, was born.
4. Composer Vinayakrao Patwardhan:- On this day in the year 1898, musician Vinayakrao Patwardhan was born in Miraj (Maharashtra). Vinayak Rao Patwardhan’s early education in music was received from his uncle Keshavrao. After that, he started taking education from Pt. Vishnudigamber Paluskar from the age of about 09 years. Initially, he worked in Vinayakrao Bal Gandharva’s drama troupe. By establishing ‘Gandharva Mahavidyalaya’, Pune in the year 1932, Vinayakrao served music throughout his life. He also wrote many textbooks, in which ‘Raag-Vigyan’ is prominent.
5. Playback singer Mukesh:- On this day in the year 1923, playback singer Mukesh was born in Delhi. His father was Zorawar Chandra Mathur who was an engineer by profession. After getting an education till the tenth, P.W.D. Mukesh, who works as an assistant surveyor in Delhi, is among his classmates. Ale. He used to drench them with his vocals after listening to Saigal’s songs. It goes on to say that when Mukesh had gone to sing at his sister’s wedding, his distant relative recognized his voice and took him to Mumbai. He also made complete arrangements for Riyaz for Mukesh. Mukesh, the king of music, started his career in the year 1941 with the film ‘Nirdosh’. Mukesh also sang seven songs in this film. Mukesh’s journey started in the year 1941 itself, but as a singer, he sang his first song in the year 1945 in the film ‘Pehli Nazar’. Perhaps at that time, Motilal must have seen his hard work being successful. Of. Ale. Mukesh, who used to sing in Sehgal’s voice, gave his style to his voice for the first time in the year 1949 with the film ‘Andaz’. Mukesh, the famous singer of that era, K.K. Ale. He started his singing under the umbrella of Sehgal’s style of singing. Mukesh sang all kinds of songs, but the discussion of painful songs is incomplete without Mukesh’s songs. 6. Freedom fighter Yatindra Mohan Sen Gupta:- On this day in the year 1933, freedom fighter Yatindra Mohan Sen Gupta died in Ranchi.
7. National Flag in its present form:- On this day in the year 1947, the National Flag of India, designed by Pingali Venkaiah, was adopted in its present form by the Constituent Assembly of India. Let us tell that, after getting independence, its colors and their importance remained, but instead of spinning the wheel in the flag, Emperor Ashoka’s Dharma Chakra was given place.
8. Politician Rita Bahuguna Joshi:- On this day in the year 1949, 17th Lok Sabha MP Rita Bahuguna Joshi was born. It is known that Rita Bahuguna Joshi is the daughter of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna and Kamala Bahuguna. He has a Ph.D. in History and is also a Professor of Medieval and Modern History at the University of Allahabad. Rita Bahuguna Joshi entered politics in the year 1995 by becoming the Mayor of Allahabad. He is currently a cabinet minister in the Government of Uttar Pradesh.
9. Politician Ananth Kumar:- On this day in the year 1959, politician Ananth Kumar was born in Bangalore, Karnataka. His father’s name was HN Narayan Shastri and his mother’s name was Girija Shastri. He graduated from the Faculty of Arts (BA) from Case Arts College, Hubli, affiliated to Karnataka University, and completed his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from JSS, Law College affiliated to Karnataka University. Being influenced by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, he became a member of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad’s student group. During the Emergency, he was jailed by the Indira Gandhi government along with thousands of other student activists. Elected to the 11th Lok Sabha in the year 1996 from Bangalore South Lok Sabha constituency. In the year 2014, Kumar was appointed as the Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers in the cabinet of the current Indian Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi.
10. Social worker Sandeep Pandey:- On this day in the year 1965, social worker Sandeep Pandey was born in a prosperous Brahmin family of Ballia in Uttar Pradesh. Sandeep was a student of Banaras Hindu University. He then did his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. went on to get his degree. In the year 1991, Sandeep Pandey did his Ph.D. from California University. Returned to India and became a professor in IIT, Kanpur. Sandeep along with like-minded friends formed an organization named ‘Asha Pariwar’. The main objective of this institution was that it will be useful to the very poor, neglected, and despised people, to whom the benefits of democracy are not reaching. Sandeep Pandey has also been honored with the ‘Ramon Magsaysay Award’.
11. Female doctor Muthu Lakshmi Reddy: – On this day in the year 1968, female doctor Muthu Lakshmi Reddy passed away.
12. Devendra Fadnavis:- On this day in the year 1970, the 18th Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis was born in Nagpur, Maharashtra. Fadnavis belongs to a Brahmin family and his father Gangadhar Rao has been in the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and the Jana Sangh. Fadnavis’s father was also a member of the State Legislative Council. Devendra graduated from law and also studied business management. Fadnavis was also an active member of ABVP during his college days. After the assembly elections in the year 2019, when he became CM in the dark of night, he had to resign in just 80 hours.
13. Singer Armaan Malik:- On this day in the year 1995, singer Armaan Malik was born in Mumbai Maharashtra. Armaan Malik’s father’s name is Dabboo Malik who is a famous music director of India and his mother’s name is Jyoti Malik. Armaan’s uncle’s name is Anu Malik who is a lyricist and music composer. Armaan is an artist in the Indian singer-car industry who became the first youngest Indian to win the Global Music Award in 2015. She has also been honored with the award named “RD Burman” for the best singer.
14. Total Solar Eclipse: – On this day in the year 2009, the longest total solar eclipse of the 21st century took place. The duration of the solar eclipse was around 6 minutes 39 seconds in some places.
15. Spores of heat-resistant mold:- On this day in the year 2011, the mold research team of Vivekananda Institute of Tropical Mycology discovered the spores of heat-resistant mold that can withstand temperatures of 100-115 degrees Celsius.
16. 13th President of India: – On this day in the year 2013, Pranab Mukherjee was elected as the 13th President of India.
17. Chandrayaan-2: – On this day in the year 2019, Chandrayaan-2 was launched from Sriharikota by ‘GSLV Mark 3’ i.e. ‘Bahubali’ rocket. It also had three parts – Orbiter, Lander Vikram, and Rover Pragyan.
