1. बंबई विश्वविद्यालय की स्थापना:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1857 में बंबई विश्वविद्यालय की स्थापना ब्रिटिश अधिकारी डॉ, जॉन विल्सन ने की थी.
2. पहली महिला फ़िजीशियन कादम्बिनी गांगुली:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1861 में भारत की पहली महिला स्नातक और पहली महिला फ़िजीशियन कादम्बिनी गांगुली का जन्म भागलपुर, बिहार में हुआ था. इनके पिता का नाम बृजकिशोर बासु था. कादम्बिनी ने वर्ष 1882 में ‘कोलकाता विश्वविद्यालय’ से बी.ए. की परीक्षा उत्तीर्ण की थी. वे भारत की दो में से पहली महिला स्नातक थीं. कोलकाता विश्वविद्यालय से वर्ष 1886 में चिकित्सा शास्त्र की डिग्री लेने वाली भी वे पहली महिला थीं. देश में भले ही महिलाओं को उच्चतर शिक्षा पाने के लिए लंबा संघर्ष करना पड़ा हो, लेकिन कादम्बिनी गांगुली के रूप में भारत को पहली महिला डॉक्टर 19वीं सदी में ही मिल गई थी. बंकिमचन्द्र चट्टोपाध्याय की रचनाओं से कादम्बिनी बहुत प्रभावित थीं. बंकिमचन्द्र की रचनाएँ उनके भीतर देशभक्ति की भावनाएँ उत्पन्न करती थीं.
3. गजल सम्राट मेहँदी हसन:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1927 में गजल सम्राट मेहँदी हसन का जन्म राजस्थान के झुंझुनू के लूणा गाँव में हुआ था. मेहदी हसन को संगीत विरासत में मिला. हसन मशहूर कलावंत संगीत घराने के थे. उन्हें संगीत की तालीम अपने वालिद उस्ताद अज़ीम ख़ाँ और चाचा उस्ताद इस्माइल ख़ाँ से मिली. मेहदी हसन ने बहुत छोटी उम्र में ही ध्रुपद गाना शुर कर दिया था. ग़ज़ल की दुनिया में योगदान के लिए उन्हें ‘शहंशाह-ए-ग़ज़ल’ की उपाधि से नवाजा गया था. भारत-पाक के बँटवारे के बाद मेहदी हसन का परिवार पाकिस्तान चला गया था. उन्हें ‘ग़ज़ल का राजा’ माना जाता है.
4. 69वें शंकराचार्य जयेन्द्र सरस्वती:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1935 में सरस्वती कांची मठ के 69वें शंकराचार्य जयेन्द्र सरस्वती का जन्म तंजावुर, तमिलनाडु में हुआ था. उन्हें पहले ‘सुब्रमण्यम महादेव अय्यर’ के नाम से जाना जाता था, क्योंकि उनके पिता का नाम महादेव अय्यर था. पिता ने उन्हें नौ वर्ष की अवस्था में वेदों के अध्ययन के लिए कांची कामकोटि मठ में भेज दिया. वहाँ उन्होंने छह वर्ष तक ऋग्वेद व अन्य ग्रन्थों का गहन अध्ययन किया. मठ के 68वें आचार्य चंद्रशेखरानंद सरस्वती ने उनकी प्रतिभा देखकर उन्हें उपनिषद पढ़ने को कहा. जयेन्द्र सरस्वती 19 साल की उम्र में शंकराचार्य बने थे.
5. साहित्यकार राजेश जोशी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1946 में साहित्यकार राजेश जोशी का जन्म हुआ था. मध्य प्रदेश के नरसिंह ज़िले में हुआ था. राजेश जोशी ने एम.एस.सी. (जीव विज्ञान) और एम. ए. (समाजशास्त्र) की डिग्रियाँ हासिल कीं और फिर एक बैंक से संबद्ध हो गए. शिक्षा प्राप्त करते ही उन्होंने पत्रकारिता प्रारम्भ की तथा कुछ समय तक अध्यापन कार्य किया. राजेश जोशी की प्रारंभिक रचनाएँ ‘वातायन’, ‘लहर’, ‘पहल’, ‘धर्मयुग’, साप्ताहिक हिंदुस्तान तथा सारिका आदि पत्र- पत्रिकाओं में प्रायः प्रकाशित होती रहीं. राजेश जोशी को जितना दुनिया के नष्ट होने का ख़तरा दिखायी देता है, उतनी ही व्यग्रता जीवन की संभावनाओं की खोज के प्रति दिखायी देती है.
6. भारतीय स्वाधीनता अधिनियम:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1947 में भारतीय स्वाधीनता अधिनियम को शाही स्वीकृति मिली थी.
7. स्वाधीनता के क़ानून को पारित किया:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1948 में भारतीय संसद ने विवश होकर इस देश के स्वाधीनता के क़ानून को पारित किया था.
8. वीर अमर शहीद पीरू सिंह:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1948 में वीर अमर शहीद पीरू सिंह का निधन हुआ था.
9. पृथ्वी की कक्षा में स्थापित:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1980 में पूर्ण रूप से भारत निर्मित उपग्रह ‘रोहिणी-1’ पृथ्वी की कक्षा में स्थापित हुआ था. यह एक 35 किलोग्राम का प्रयोगात्मक स्पिन स्थिर उपग्रह है जिसमें 16W ऊर्जा का इस्तेमाल होता था और सफलतापूर्वक सतीश धवन अंतरिक्ष केंद्र से 44.7 डिग्री के झुकाव के साथ 305 x 919 किमी की कक्षा में स्थापित किया गया था.
10. क्रांतिकारी अब्दुल हमीद कैसर:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1998 में क्रांतिकारी अब्दुल हमीद कैसर का निधन हुआ था.
11. अभिनेत्री प्रियंका चोपड़ा:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1982 में बॉलीवुड-हॉलीवुड अभिनेत्री, एवं मिस वर्ल्ड 2000 प्रियंका चोपड़ा का जन्म जमशेदपुर, झारखंड में हुआ था. उनके माता-पिता भारतीय सेना में चिकित्सक थे. प्रियंका ने अपनी पढ़ाई लखनऊ के लामर्ट्स स्कूल और बरेली के सैंट मारिया गोरेटी कॉलेज, से पूरी की थी. अमेरिका में वे सेमिनार मिस इंडिया प्रतियोगिता की दूसरी विजेता रही और मिस इंडिया वर्ल्ड के खिताब के लिए प्रवेश किया जहाँ उन्हें मिस वर्ल्ड का ताज पहनाया गया था. प्रियंका को 30 नवंबर 2000 को लंदन के मिलेनियम डोम में मिस वर्ल्ड 2000 और मिस वर्ल्ड कॉन्टिनेंटल क्वीन ऑफ़ ब्यूटी-एशिया एंड ओशिनिया का ताज पहनाया गया था. प्रियंका चोपड़ा ने फ़िल्मी कैरियर की शुरुआत तमिल फिल्म थमिजहन से की थी वहीँ, हिंदी सिनेमा में प्रियंका ने डेब्यू वर्ष 2003 में फिल्म द हीरो: लव स्टोरी ऑफ़ अ स्पाई से की थी. प्रियंका को उनका पहला सर्वश्रेष्ठ अभिनेत्री नेशनल अवार्ड फिल्म फैशन के लिए वर्ष 2008 में मिला था.
12. महिला क्रिकेट खिलाड़ी स्मृति मंधाना:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1996 में महिला क्रिकेट खिलाड़ी स्मृति मंधाना का जन्म मुम्बई में हुआ था. जब वह २ साल की थीं तो उनका परिवार महाराष्ट्र के सांगली में स्थानान्तरित हो गया था जहाँ उन्होंने अपनी स्कूल शिक्षा पूरी की. स्मृति मन्धाना को क्रिकेटर बनने की प्रेरणा उनके भाई से मिली थी. करीब 9 वर्ष की आयु में वह महाराष्ट्र अंडर 15 की टीम में चुनी गयी थीं वहीँ, 11 वर्ष की आयु में उन्हें महाराष्ट्र अंडर 19 की टीम के लिए चुना गया था. मन्धाना की पहली सफलता उन्हें तब मिली जब वह अक्टूबर 2013 में हुई जब वह एक दिवसीय मैच में डबल शतक हासिल करने वाली पहली भारतीय महिला बनीं थी. स्मृति मन्धाना टी-20 इंटरनेशनल में भारत की ओर से सबसे तेज फिफ्टी लगाने वाली महिला बल्लेबाज बनी थी. उन्होंने ये रिकॉर्ड 2019 में न्यूजीलैंड के खिलाफ बनाया था.
13. देश के 12वें राष्ट्रपति:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2002 में डा. ए.पी.जे. अब्दुल कलाम देश के 12वें राष्ट्रपति चुने गए थे.
14. 20 करोड़ डालर की सहायता मंजूर:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2002 में सड़कों के सुधार पर विस्तार के लिए, एशियाई विकास बैंक ने छत्तीसगढ़ को 20 करोड़ डालर की सहायता मंजूर की.
15. वाई. वेणुगोपाल रेड्डी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2003 में रिजर्व बैंक के नये गर्वनर वाई. वेणुगोपाल रेड्डी बने.
16. भारत अमेरिका परमाणु समझौता:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2006 में भारत और अमेरिका के बीच हुआ परमाणु समझौता हुआ था. भारत के प्रधानमंत्री मनमोहन सिंह और अमेरिका के राष्ट्रपति जार्ज बुश ने इस समझौते पे हस्ताक्षर किये थे.
17. एक हज़ार पुस्तकों पर हस्ताक्षर करने का रिकार्ड बनाया:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2008 में भारतीय मूल के सलमान रुश्दी ने प्रमोशन टूर के दौरान 57 मिनट में एक हज़ार पुस्तकों पर हस्ताक्षर करने का रिकार्ड बनाया था.
18. अभिनेता राजेश खन्ना:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2012 में अभिनेता राजेश खन्ना का निधन हुआ था.
19. पार्श्व गायिका मुबारक बेगम:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2016 में पार्श्व गायिका मुबारक बेगम का निधन मुंबई के जोगेश्वरी स्थित अपने घर में हुआ था.
20. उपन्यासकार अजित शंकर चौधरी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2017 में कहानीकार, उपन्यासकार तथा सहृदय समीक्षक अजित शंकर चौधरी का निधन हुआ था.

1. Establishment of Bombay University:- On this day in the year 1857, Bombay University was established by British officer Dr. John Wilson.
2. First female physician Kadambini Ganguly:- On this day in the year 1861, India’s first female graduate and first female physician Kadambini Ganguly was born in Bhagalpur, Bihar. His father’s name was Brijkishore Basu. Kadambini did his B.A. in the year 1882 from the ‘University of Calcutta’. had passed the examination. She was the first female graduate out of two in India. She was also the first woman to get a medical degree from Calcutta University in the year 1886. Even though women in the country had to struggle for a long time to get higher education, in the form of Kadambini Ganguly, India got its first female doctor in the 19th century. Kadambini was greatly influenced by the works of Bankimchandra Chattopadhyay. Bankimchandra’s creations used to generate feelings of patriotism within him.
3. Ghazal emperor Mehandi Hasan:- On this day in the year 1927, Ghazal emperor Mehandi Hasan was born in Luna village of Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan. Mehdi Hassan inherited music. Hasan belonged to the famous Kalavant music Gharana. He received music training from his father Ustad Azeem Khan and uncle Ustad Ismail Khan. Mehdi Hasan started singing Dhrupad at a very young age. He was awarded the title of ‘Shahenshah-e-Ghazal’ for his contribution to the world of Ghazal. Mehdi Hasan’s family had moved to Pakistan after the partition of India-Pakistan. He is considered the ‘King of Ghazals’.
4. 69th Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswati:- On this day in the year 1935, the 69th Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswati of Saraswati Kanchi Math was born in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. He was earlier known as ‘Subramaniam Mahadev Iyer’ because his father’s name was Mahadev Iyer. His father sent him to the Kanchi Kamakoti Math at the age of nine to study the Vedas. There he studied Rigveda and other texts deeply for six years. Chandrashekharanand Saraswati, the 68th Acharya of the Math, seeing his talent, asked him to read the Upanishads. Jayendra Saraswati became Shankaracharya at the age of 19.
5. Writer Rajesh Joshi: – On this day in the year 1946, writer Rajesh Joshi was born. Happened in Narsingh district of Madhya Pradesh. Rajesh Joshi did his M.Sc. (Biology) and M.A. (Sociology) degrees and then joined a bank. As soon as he got his education, he started journalism and did teaching work for some time. Rajesh Joshi’s initial works were often published in ‘Vatayan’, ‘Lahar’, ‘Pahal’, ‘Dharmyug’, weekly Hindustan and Sarika, etc. The more Rajesh Joshi sees the danger of the destruction of the world, the more anxious he is towards discovering the possibilities of life.

It is a 35 kg experimental spin-stabilized satellite that used 16W of power and was successfully placed in an orbit of 305 x 919 km with an inclination of 44.7 deg from Satish Dhawan Space Centre.

11. Actress Priyanka Chopra:- On this day in the year 1982, Bollywood-Hollywood actress, and Miss World 2000 Priyanka Chopra was born in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. His parents were doctors in the Indian Army. Priyanka did her schooling at Lamart’s School in Lucknow and St. Maria Goretti College, Bareilly. She was the second winner of the Seminar Miss India contest in America and entered for the title of Miss India World where she was crowned Miss World. Priyanka was crowned Miss World 2000 and Miss World Continental Queen of Beauty-Asia and Oceania on 30 November 2000 at the Millennium Dome in London. Priyanka Chopra started her film career with the Tamil film Thamizhan, while Priyanka made her debut in Hindi cinema in the year 2003 with the film The Hero: Love Story of a Spy. 12. Female cricketer Smriti Mandhana:- On this day in the year 1996, female cricketer Smriti Mandhana was born in Mumbai. When she was 2 years old, her family shifted to Sangli, Maharashtra where she completed her schooling. Smriti Mandhana got the inspiration to become a cricketer from her brother. At the age of about 9, she was selected for the Maharashtra Under-15 team, while at the age of 11, she was selected for the Maharashtra Under-19 team. Mandhana’s first success came when she became the first Indian woman to score a double century in ODIs in October 2013.
