1. पहली विदेशी महिला बेगम रेजाबीबेह सूकिएस:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1630 में कोलकाता आयी पहली विदेशी महिला बेगम रेजाबीबेह सूकिएस का निधन हुआ था.
2. न्यायाधीश एवं राजनेता सी. शंकरन नायर:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1857 में भारतीय न्यायाधीश एवं राजनेता सी. शंकरन नायर का जन्म केरल के पलक्कड़ जिले में हुआ था. इनका पूरा नाम शंकरन नायर चित्तूर था. ये एक भारतीय न्यायविद एवं राजनेता थे. इन्होंने वर्ष 1877 में प्रेसीडेंसी कॉलेज मद्रास से शिक्षा ली और उसके बाद मद्रास लॉ कॉलेज से कानून की पढ़ाई की.
3. क्रांतिकारी साहित्यकार कांशीराम:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1882 में क्रांतिकारी साहित्यकार कांशीराम का जन्म हिमाचल प्रदेश के जिला कागंडा के डाडा सीबा में हुआ था. मैट्रिक पास करने के बाद उन्होंने तार भेजने प्राप्त करने का काम सीखा और कुछ दिन अंबाला और दिल्ली में नौकरी की. आजीविका के लिए पंडित कांशीराम ने ठेकेदारी का काम करते हुए उन्होंने ‘इंडियन एसोसिएशन ऑफ अमेरिका’ और ‘इंडियन इंडिपैंडेंट लीग’ में शामिल हो गए. कांशीराम के ऊपर लाला हरदयाल का बहुत प्रभाव पड़ा. वर्ष 1913 में पंडित कांशीराम ‘ग़दर पार्टी’ के कोषाध्यक्ष बन गए. जिस समय यूरोप में प्रथम विश्वयुद्ध के बादल मंडरा रहे थे, ग़दर पार्टी ने निश्चय किया कि कुछ लोगों को अमेरिका से भारत वापस जाना चाहिए. पंडित कांशीराम ने भारत आकर सेना की कई छावनियों की यात्रा की और सैनिकों को अंग्रेजों की सत्ता उखाड़ फेंकने के लिए प्रेरित किया.कांशीराम और उनके साथियों ने अपने कार्य के लिए धन जुटाने के उद्देश्य से मोगा का सरकारी कोषागार लूटने का असफल प्रयत्न भी किया.
4. सी. एस. वेंकटाचार:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1899 में राजस्थान के दूसरे मुख्यमंत्री सी. एस. वेंकटाचार का जन्म कोलार जिला, मैसूर, ब्रिटिश भारत में हुआ था. राजस्थान गठन के बाद एक समय ऐसा आया, जब यहाँ की लोकप्रिय सरकार के त्यागपत्र देने के बाद सिविल सेवक अधिकारी सी. एस. वेंकटाचार को सरकार का मुखिया बनाया गया था. देश में आईएएस के पद पर रहते हुए वर्किंग सीएम बनने का इकलौता मौका सी. एस. वेंकटाचार को मिला था.
5. प्रथम रक्षामंत्री सरदार बलदेव सिंह:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1902 में स्वतंत्रता सेनानी, राजनीतिज्ञ एवं प्रथम रक्षामंत्री सरदार बलदेव सिंह का जन्म पंजाब के रोपड़ ज़िले के दुम्मना नामक गाँव में एक जाट-सिख परिवार में हुआ था. इनके पिता का नाम इंदर सिंह था, जिन्होंने अपने जीवन की शुरुआत एक सरकारी कर्मचारी के रूप में की थी, लेकिन बाद में वे ठेकेदार बन गये. बलदेव सिंह ने अपनी शिक्षा अम्बाला में पूरी करके खालसा कॉलेज, अमृतसर में अपने पिताजी के साथ कार्य किया. वर्ष 1930 में पंजाब लौटने पर सरदार बलदेव सिंह ने राजनीति में प्रवेश किया.
6. वी. आर. नेदुनचेज़ियन:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1920 में तमिलनाडु राज्य के तीन बार कार्यवाहक मुख्यमंत्री वी. आर. नेदुनचेज़ियन का जन्म हुआ था.
7. अभिनेत्री उमा देवी खत्री (टून टून): – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1923 में अभिनेत्री उमा देवी खत्री (टून टून) का जन्म उत्तर प्रदेश के अमरोहा के एक ग्रामीण पंजाबी परिवार में हुआ था. टुनटुन के नाम से पॉपुलर हुईं एक्ट्रेस का असली नाम उमा देवी खत्री था. उमा देवी खत्री को अक्सर हिन्दी सिनेमा की पहली हास्य अभिनेत्री भी कहा जाता है. ये फिल्मों में उमादेवी के नाम से गाती थीं. उमा देवी को उनका फ़िल्मी निक नेम टुन टुन दिलीप कुमार ने दिया था. बताते चलें कि, इनके माता पिता की मृत्यु इनके बचपन में ही हो गयी थी और इन्हे इनके चाचा ने पाला था. 13 वर्ष की आयु में ये घर से भाग कर मुंबई आ गयी थीं और यह मुंबई में सीधे संगीत निर्देशक नौशाद अली के पास गयी थी. इन्होने नौशाद अली से कहा था कि वो गा सकती हैं और अगर उन्होने उन्हें काम नहीं दिया तो वो सागर मे डूब कर जान दे देंगी. नौशाद ने इन्हें सुना और उसी समय इन्हें काम दे दिया.
8. राजनीतिज्ञ सुरेश प्रभु :- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1953 में राजनीतिज्ञ सुरेश प्रभु का जन्म मुंबई में हुआ था. वो पेशे से सनदी लेखाकार हैं और भारतीय सनदी लेखाकार संस्थान के सदस्य हैं. सुरेश प्रभु वर्ष 1996 से वो लगातार शिव सेना के उम्मीदवार के रूप में महाराष्ट्र के राजपुर लोकसभा निर्वाचन क्षेत्र के लिए चुने गये. 9 नवम्बर 2014 को सुरेश प्रभु शिव सेना छोड़कर भाजपा में शामिल हो गये.
9. अंग्रेज़ी भाषा के साहित्यकार अमिताभ घोष:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1956 में अंग्रेज़ी भाषा के साहित्यकार अमिताभ घोष का निधन हुआ था.
10. आध्यात्मिक नेता आगा ख़ाँ तृतीय:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1957 में शियाओं के निजारी इस्माईली मत के आध्यात्मिक नेता आगा ख़ाँ तृतीय का निधन हुआ था.
11. अभिनेता कुमार गौरव:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1960 में अभिनेता कुमार गौरव का जन्म लखनऊ, उत्तर प्रदेश में हुआ था. इनके पिता का नाम अभिनेता राजेन्द्र कुमार है. कुमार गौरव का असली नाम मनोज तुली है. कुमार गौरव ने अपने फिल्मी सफ़र की शुरुआत वर्ष 1981 में आई फिल्म लव स्टोरी से की थी जो उस समय की सुपर हिट फिल्मों में से एक थी.
12. लेखक भीष्म साहनी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2003 में लेखक भीष्म साहनी का निधन हुआ था.
13. ‘सदा-ए-सरहद’: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2003 में लाहौर में ‘दोस्ती बस’ और दिल्ली से ‘सदा-ए-सरहद’ बस का परिचालन हुआ था.
14. हिन्दी विकिपीडिया:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2003 में हिन्दी विकिपीडिया की शुरुआत हुई थी.
15. सीरियल धमाके:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2006 में मुम्बई उपनगरीय में 7 रेल बम विस्फोट हुये थे. इस घटना में 189 लोगों की जान चली गई, वहीं 700 से ज्यादा लोग घायल हो गए थे.
16. कला प्रदर्शनी में मुख्य अतिथि:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2007 में न्यूयार्क की कला प्रदर्शनी में मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में चित्रकार एम.एफ़. हुसैन ने भाग लिया था.
17. सेकेंड लेफ्टिनेंट रामा राघोबा राणे:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2011 में परमवीर चक्र से सम्मानित सेकेंड लेफ्टिनेंट रामा राघोबा राणे का निधन हुआ था.

1. First foreign woman Begum Rejabibeh Sookies:- On this day in the year 1630, Begum Rejabibeh Sookies, the first foreign woman who came to Kolkata, passed away.
2. Judge and politician C. Sankaran Nair: – On this day in the year 1857, Indian judge and politician C. Sankaran Nair was born in the Palakkad district of Kerala. His full name was Sankaran Nair Chittoor. He was an Indian jurist and politician. He took education from Presidency College Madras in the year 1877 and then studied law at Madras Law College.
3. Revolutionary writer Kanshi Ram:- On this day in the year 1882, revolutionary writer Kanshi Ram was born in Dada Siba of Kaganda district of Himachal Pradesh. After passing the matriculation, he learned the work of sending and receiving telegrams and worked for a few days in Ambala and Delhi. Pandit Kanshiram joined ‘The Indian Association of America’ and ‘The Indian Independent League while doing contract work for livelihood. Lala Hardayal had a great influence on Kanshi Ram. In the year 1913, Pandit Kanshiram became the treasurer of ‘The Ghadar Party’. At the time when the clouds of World War I were hovering over Europe, the Ghadar Party decided that some people should go back to India from America. Pandit Kanshi Ram came to India and traveled to many army cantonments and inspired the soldiers to overthrow the power of the British. Kanshi Ram and his companions also tried unsuccessfully to loot the government treasury of Moga for the purpose of raising funds for their work.
4. S. Venkatachar: – On this day in the year 1899, the second Chief Minister of Rajasthan C.S. Venkatachara was born in Kolar district, Mysore, British India. A time came after the formation of Rajasthan when the civil servant officer C.S. Venkatachara was made the head of the government. C.S. is the only chance to become a working CM while holding the post of IAS in the country. Venkatachar got it.
5. First Defense Minister Sardar Baldev Singh:- On this day in the year 1902, freedom fighter, politician, and first Defense Minister Sardar Baldev Singh was born in a Jat-Sikh family in Dummana village of Ropar district of Punjab. His father’s name was Inder Singh, who started his life as a government employee, but later became a contractor. Baldev Singh completed his education in Ambala and worked with his father in Khalsa College, Amritsar. Sardar Baldev Singh entered politics on his return to Punjab in the year 1930.
6. R. Nedunchezian:- On this day in the year 1920, thrice Acting Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu State V.R. Nedunchezian was born.
7. Actress Uma Devi Khatri (Toon Toon): – On this day in the year 1923, actress Uma Devi Khatri (Toon Toon) was born in a rural Punjabi family in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh. The real name of the actress who became popular as Tuntun was Uma Devi Khatri. Uma Devi Khatri is also often called the first comic actress of Hindi cinema. She used to sing in films under the name of Umadevi. Uma Devi was given her film nickname Tun Tun by Dilip Kumar. It should be mentioned that his parents had died in his childhood and he was brought up by his uncle. At the age of 13, she ran away from home to Mumbai and went directly to music director Naushad Ali in Mumbai. She had told Naushad Ali that she could sing and if he did not give her work, she would die by drowning in the sea. Naushad heard them and at the same time gave them the job.
8. Politician Suresh Prabhu:- On this day in the year 1953, politician Suresh Prabhu was born in Mumbai. He is a Chartered Accountant by profession and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Suresh Prabhu has been continuously elected from the Rajpur Lok Sabha constituency of Maharashtra as a Shiv Sena candidate since 1996. Suresh Prabhu left Shiv Sena and joined BJP on 9 November 2014.
9. English language writer Amitabh Ghosh: – On this day in the year 1956, English language writer Amitabh Ghosh passed away.
10. Spiritual leader Aga Khan III: – On this day in the year 1957, the spiritual leader of Shia’s Nizari Ismaili sect Aga Khan III passed away.
11. Actor Kumar Gaurav:- On this day in the year 1960, actor Kumar Gaurav was born in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. His father’s name is actor Rajendra Kumar. The real name of Kumar Gaurav is Manoj Tuli. Kumar Gaurav started his film journey with the film Love Story in the year 1981, which was one of the super hit films of that time.
