1. बिजली गिरने से मौत :- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1760 में मीर जाफर के बेटे मिरान की गंडक नदी के किनारे बिजली गिरने से मौत हुई थी.
2. टीपू सुल्तान के खिलाफ संधि की:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1789 में ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी ने पेशवा और निजाम के साथ टीपू सुल्तान के खिलाफ संधि की.
3. नए गवर्नर-जनरल के रूप में:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1828 में लॉर्ड विलियम बेंटिंक कलकत्ता (अब कोलकाता) नए गवर्नर-जनरल के रूप में अपना प्रशासन शुरू करने के लिए यूनाइटेड किंगडम के राजा जॉर्ज IV के स्थान पर भारत आए.
4. टॉय ट्रेन:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1881 में सिलीगुड़ी और दार्जिलिंग के बीच टॉय ट्रेन की शुरुआत हुई थी.
5. स्वतंत्रता सेनानी अल्लूरी सीताराम राजू:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1897 में स्वतंत्रता सेनानी अल्लूरी सीताराम राजू का जन्म पांडुरंगी गाँव, विशाखापट्टनम, आन्ध्र प्रदेश में हुआ था.उनकी माता का नाम सूर्यनारायणाम्मा और पिता का नाम वेक्टराम राजू था. सीताराम राजू की अल्पायु में ही पिता की मृत्यु हो गयी, जिस कारण वे उचित शिक्षा प्राप्त नहीं कर सके.पहली तीर्थयात्रा के समय वे हिमालय की ओर गये. वहाँ उनकी मुलाक़ात महान् क्रांतिकारी पृथ्वीसिंह आज़ाद से हुई. वर्ष 1919-1920 के दौरान साधु-सन्न्यासियों के बड़े-बड़े समूह लोगों में राष्ट्रीयता की भावना जगाने के लिए व संघर्ष के लिए पूरे देश में भ्रमण कर रहे थे.पनी तीर्थयात्रा से वापस आने के बाद सीताराम राजू कृष्णदेवीपेट में आश्रम बनाकर ध्यान व साधना आदि में लग गए. दूसरी बार उनकी तीर्थयात्रा का प्रयाण नासिक की ओर था, जो उन्होंने पैदल ही पूरी की थी. यह वह समय था, जब पूरे भारत में ‘असहयोग आन्दोलन’ चल रहा था.कुछ समय बाद सीताराम राजू ने गांधी जी के विचारों को त्याग दिया और सैन्य सगठन की स्थापना की. उन्होंने सम्पूर्ण रम्पा क्षेत्र को क्रांतिकारी आन्दोलन का केंद्र बना लिया.अल्लूरी सीताराम राजू की बढ़ती गतिविधियों से अंग्रेज़ सरकार सतर्क हो गयी.ब्रिटिश सरकार जान चुकी थी की अल्लूरी राजू कोई सामान्य डाकू नहीं है. वे संगठित सैन्य शक्ति के बल पर अंग्रेज़ों को अपने प्रदेश से बाहर निकाल फेंकना चाहते है.
6. भूतपूर्व कार्यकारी प्राधानमंत्री गुलज़ारीलाल नन्दा:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1898 में गुलज़ारीलाल नन्दा का जन्म सियालकोट में हुआ था, जो अब पश्चिमी पाकिस्तान का हिस्सा है. इनके पिता का नाम ‘बुलाकी राम नंदा’ तथा माता का नाम ‘श्रीमती ईश्वर देवी नंदा’ था। नंदा की प्राथमिक शिक्षा सियालकोट में ही सम्पन्न हुई. उन्होंने लाहौर के ‘फ़ोरमैन क्रिश्चियन कॉलेज’ तथा इलाहाबाद विश्वविद्यालय में अध्ययन किया। गुलज़ारीलाल नंदा ने कला संकाय में स्नातकोत्तर एवं क़ानून की स्नातक उपाधि प्राप्त की. वर्ष 1921 में उन्होंने असहयोग आन्दोलन में भाग लिया. वर्ष 1932 में सत्याग्रह आन्दोलन के दौरान और 1942-1944 में भारत छोड़ो आन्दोलन के समय इन्हें जेल भी गए थे.नंदाजी बहुमुखी प्रतिभा के धनी थे. उन्होंने मुम्बई के ‘नेशनल कॉलेज’ में अर्थशास्त्र के व्याख्याता के रूप में अपनी सेवाएँ प्रदान कीं. नंदा जी मुम्बई की विधानसभा में 1937 से 1939 तक और 1947 से 1950 तक विधायक रहे. नंदाजी ने मंत्रिमण्डल में वरिष्ठतम सहयोगी होने के कारण दो बार कार्यवाहक प्रधानमंत्री का दायित्व सम्भाला. पहला कार्यकाल 27 मई, 1964 से 9 जून, 1964 तक रहा, जब पंडिल जवाहर लाल नेहरू का निधन हुआ था. वहीँ,  दूसरा कार्यकाल 11 जनवरी 1966 से 24 जनवरी, 1966 तक रहा, जब लाल बहादुर शास्त्री का ताशकंद में देहान्त हुआ.
7. स्वामी विवेकानन्द:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1902 में भारतीय आध्यात्मिक मनीषी एवं – साहित्य , दर्शन और इतिहास के प्रकाण्ड विद्वान स्वामी विवेकानन्द ब्रह्मलीन हुए थे.
8. अभिनेत्री नसीम बानो:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1916 में नसीम बानो का जन्म दिल्ली में हुआ था. नसीम के पिता हसनपुर के नवाब अब्दुल वहीद खान थे. नसीम की माँ का नाम शमशाद बेगम था. नसीम ने दिल्ली के क्वीन मैरी हाई स्कूल में पढ़ाई की.नसीम बानो सुन्दरता की मिसाल थीं. उनकी सुंदरता का अंदाज़ा इस बात से लगाया जा सकता है कि उन्हें किसी की नज़र न लग जाए, इसलिये उन्हें पर्दे में रखा जाता था.नसीम बानो ने अहसान मियाँ नामक एक अमीर व्यक्ति से प्रेम विवाह किया था. कुछ समय बाद इनका रिश्ता टूट गया था. सिनेमा जगत् में नसीब बानो का प्रवेश संयोगवश हुआ था। एक बार नसीम बानो अपनी स्कूल की छुटियों के दौरान अपनी माँ के साथ फ़िल्म ‘सिल्वर किंग’ की शूटिंग देखने गयीं। फ़िल्म की शूटिंग देखकर नसीम बानो मंत्रमुग्ध हो गयीं और उन्होंने निश्चय किया कि वह अभिनेत्री के रूप में अपना सिने कॅरियर बनायेंगी. वर्ष 1935 में नसीम को फ़िल्मों में ब्रेक मशहूर फ़िल्मकार सोहराब मोदी ने दिया.
9. विमलेश कांति वर्मा:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1943 में विमलेश कांति वर्मा का जन्म इलाहाबाद, उत्तर प्रदेश में हुआ था. विमलेश पहले ऐसे भारतीय हैं जिन्होंने भाषाविज्ञान, कोश निर्माण, पाठालोचन, अनुवाद और सांस्कृतिक अध्ययन के क्षेत्र में विशिष्ट योगदान दिया.
10. अभिनेता सुशील कुमार:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1945 में सुशील कुमार का जन्म कराची के एक धनी परिवार में हुआ था. इनके पिता का नाम किशनचंद्र जमनादास सोमाया और माता का नाम तुलसीबाई था. सिंधी होते हुई भी उनकी भाषा, खान-पान और रीति-रिवाज पर कच्छ, गुजरात की संस्कृति का गहरा असर था. जब सुशील कुमार महज ढाई वर्ष के थे, तब देश का बंटवारा हुआ और उनके परिवार को अपना सब कुछ कराची में छोड़कर भागना पड़ा. वे लोग पहले गुजरात के नवसारी शहर और फिर मुंबई में आकर बस गए. सुशील कुमार ने ‘जय हिन्द कॉलेज’ से बी.ए. उत्तीर्ण किया और फिर कुछ ही समय बाद उन्हें एयर इंडिया में नौकरी मिल गई. सुशील कुमार ने फ़िल्मी कैरियर की शुरुआत बाल कलाकार से की थी.
11. ब्रिटिश पार्लियामेंट:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1947 में ब्रिटिश पार्लियामेंट के सामने भारतीय स्वतंत्रता बिल का प्रस्ताव रखा गया था. जिसके तहत देश का भारत और पाकिस्तान में बंटवारा हुआ था.
12. राष्ट्रीय ध्वज के अभिकल्पक:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1963 में भारत के राष्ट्रीय ध्वज ‘ तिरंगा ‘ के अभिकल्पक पिंगलि वेंकय्या का निधन हुआ था.
13. गीतकार भरत व्यास:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1982 में गीतकार भरत व्यास का निधन हुआ था.
14. गायिका श्रद्वा पंडित:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1982 में श्रद्वा पंडित का जन्म मुम्बई में हुआ था.
15. रिकॉर्ड बनाया:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1986 में क्रिकेटर सुनील गावस्कर ने 115 टेस्ट मैच खेलने का रिकॉर्ड बनाया था.
16. पुरुष युगल का खिताब:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1999 में लिएंडर पेस और महेश भूपति ने विम्बल्डन में पुरुष युगल का खिताब जीता था.
17. रिहा किया:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2001 में भारत ने पाकिस्तान के बंदी नागरिकों को रिहा किया था.
18. मिश्रित युगल खिताब:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2005 में महेश भूपति और मेरी पियर्स ने विंबलडन टेनिस का मिश्रित युगल खिताब जीता था.
19. हाथ काट दिया:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2010 में एक परीक्षा पत्र में कथित तौर पर पैगंबर मोहम्मद का अपमान करने के आरोप की वजह से आठ हमलावरों ने केरल के प्रोफ़ेसर जोसेफ़ पर हमला कर उनके हाथ काट दिए.
20. स्वर्ण पदक अपने नाम किया:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2019 में भारत की स्प्रिंटर हिमा दास ने पोलैंड में पोजनान एथलेटिक्स ग्रां प्री में महिलाओं की 200 मीटर दौड़ में स्वर्ण पदक अपने नाम किया.

1. Death due to lightning:- On this day in the year 1760, Mir Jafar’s son Miran died due to lightning on the banks of the Gandak River.
2. Treaty against Tipu Sultan: – On this day in the year 1789, the East India Company made a treaty against Tipu Sultan with Peshwa and Nizam.
3. As the new Governor-General:- On this day in the year 1828, Lord William Bentinck came to Calcutta (now Kolkata) to India to start his administration as the new Governor-General in place of King George IV of the United Kingdom.
4. Toy Train: – On this day in the year 1881, the toy train was started between Siliguri and Darjeeling.
5. Freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju:- On this day in the year 1897, freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju was born in Pandurangi village, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. His mother’s name was Suryanarayanamma and his father’s name was Vectram Raju. Sitaram Raju’s father died at a young age, due to which he could not get a proper education. During his first pilgrimage, he went towards the Himalayas. There he met the great revolutionary Prithvi Singh Azad. During the years 1919-1920, large groups of sages and ascetics were traveling all over the country to awaken the spirit of nationalism among the people and for the struggle. After coming back from the Pani pilgrimage, Sitaram Raju started meditation by building an ashram in Krishnadevipet. Got engaged in etc. The second time his pilgrimage was towards Nashik, which he completed on foot. This was the time when the ‘Non-Cooperation Movement’ was going on all over India. After some time, Sitaram Raju abandoned Gandhiji’s ideas and established a military organization. He made the entire Rampa region-the center of the revolutionary movement. The British government became alert due to the increasing activities of Alluri Sitaram Raju. The British government had come to know that Alluri Raju is not an ordinary dacoit. They want to throw the British out of their state on the strength of organized military power.
6. Former Acting Prime Minister Gulzarilal Nanda:- On this day in the year 1898, Gulzarilal Nanda was born in Sialkot, which is now a part of West Pakistan. His father’s name was ‘Bulaki Ram Nanda’ and his mother’s name was ‘Mrs. Ishwar Devi Nanda’. Nanda’s primary education was completed in Sialkot only. He studied at Lahore’s ‘Forman Christian College’ and Allahabad University. Gulzarilal Nanda did his post-graduation in the Faculty of Arts and graduated in law. In the year 1921, he participated in the non-cooperation movement. During the Satyagraha movement in the year 1932 and during the Quit India movement in 1942-1944, he was also jailed. Nandaji was rich in versatility. He served as a lecturer in economics at the National College in Mumbai. Nanda ji was an MLA in the Mumbai Legislative Assembly from 1937 to 1939 and from 1947 to 1950. Being the senior-most colleague in the cabinet, Nandaji handled the responsibility of caretaker prime minister twice. The first term lasted from 27 May 1964 to 9 June 1964, when Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru died. Whereas, the second term lasted from January 11, 1966, to January 24, 1966, when Lal Bahadur Shastri died in Tashkent.
7. Swami Vivekananda:- On this day in the year 1902, Indian spiritual thinker and a great scholar of literature, philosophy, and history, Swami Vivekananda became Brahmalin.
8. Actress Naseem Bano:- On this day in the year 1916, Naseem Bano was born in Delhi. Naseem’s father was Nawab Abdul Waheed Khan of Hasanpur. Naseem’s mother’s name was Shamshad Begum. Naseem studied at Queen Mary High School in Delhi. Naseem Bano was an example of beauty. Her beauty can be gauged from the fact that she should not be seen by anyone, that’s why she was kept in a veil. Naseem Bano had a love marriage with a rich man named Ahsan Miyan. After some time their relationship was broken. Naseeb Bano’s entry into the cinema world was accidental. Once Naseem Banu went to see the shooting of the film ‘Silver King’ with her mother during her school holidays. Seeing the shooting of the film, Naseem Banu got mesmerized and she decided that she would make her career in cinema as an actress. In the year 1935 Naseem was given a break in films by famous filmmaker Sohrab Modi.

10. Actor Sushil Kumar: – On this day in the year 1945, Sushil Kumar was born into a wealthy family in Karachi. His father’s name was Kishanchandra Jamnadas Somaya and his mother’s name was Tulsibai. Despite being a Sindhi, the culture of Kutch, Gujarat had a deep impact on his language, food habits, and customs. When Sushil Kumar was only two and a half years old, the partition of the country took place and his family had to flee leaving everything behind in Karachi. They first settled in Navsari City of Gujarat and then in Mumbai. Sushil Kumar did his B.A. from ‘Jai Hind College’. Passed and then shortly after he got a job in Air India. Sushil Kumar started his film career as a child artist.
