- निर्गुण संत कवि नामदेव:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1350 में निर्गुण संत कवि नामदेव का निधन हुआ था.
- शाह शुजा :- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1616 में मुग़ल बादशाह शाह जहाँ का पुत्र शाह शुजा का जन्म हुआ था. मुग़ल सम्राट शाहजहां का द्वितीय पुत्र शुजा विलासी प्रकृति का था. उसके अंदर सम्राट बनने की महत्वाकांक्षा भी विद्यमान थी. वर्ष 1657 में शुजा बंगाल का सूबेदार था. जब उसे शाहजहां के गंभीर रूप से बीमार पड़ने की सूचना मिली तो उसने बंगाल की उस समय की राजधानी राजमहल में स्वयं को सम्राट घोषित कर दिया था.
- पुर्तगाल ने:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1661 में पुर्तगाल ने मुंबई और तंजौर इंग्लैंड के राजा चार्ल्स द्वीतीय को दिया.
- बाबा बंदा सिंह बहादुर :- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1746 में मुगल सम्राट के आदेश पर बाबा बंदा सिंह बहादुर को फाँसी दे दी गई थी.
- दिल्ली पर कब्जा :- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1760 में मराठा सेना ने दिल्ली पर कब्जा किया था.
- स्वतंत्रता संग्राम सेनानी बासुदेव बलवंत फड़के:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1879 में स्वतंत्रता संग्राम सेनानी बासुदेव बलवंत फड़के को गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया था.
- शिक्षाविद हंसा मेहता :- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1897 में समाजसेवी, स्वतंत्रता सेनानी और शिक्षाविद हंसा मेहता का जन्म सूरत, गुजरात में हुआ था. इनके पिता मनुभाई मेहता बड़ौदा और बीकानेर रियासतों के दीवान थे. घर में पढ़ने-लिखने का महौल था तो हंसाबेन (हंसा मेहता) ने बड़ौदा के विद्यालय और महाविद्यालय में दर्शनशास्त्र से बी.ए. ऑर्नस किया.हंसाबेन जब पत्रकारिता की पढ़ाई करने इंग्लैड पहुंची, तब वहां उनकी मुलाकात सरोजिनी नायडू से हुई। सरोजिनी नायडू के साथ हंसाबेन महिला आंदोलन के बारे में दीक्षित तो हुई ही, सार्वजनिक सभाओं में भी शिरकत करना शुरू किया. हंसा मेहता ने डॉ. जीवराज एन. मेहता से विवाह करना तय किया तो नागर गृहस्थ समाज में शोर मच गया. ऊंची जाति का वैश्य के संग विवाह के प्रतिरोध के लिए गुजरात से बनारस तक में सभाएं की गईं और उन्हें जाति से बहिष्कृत कर दिया गया. भारत के संविधान को मूल रूप देने वाली समिति में 15 महिलाएं भी शामिल थीं। इन्होंने संविधान के साथ भारतीय समाज के निर्माण में भी महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई.
- देशद्रोह का आरोप:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1908 में बाल गंगाधर तिलक को अंग्रेज सरकार ने देशद्रोह का आरोप लगाकर गिरफ्तार किया.
- फ़िल्म निर्माता अदूर गोपालकृष्णन :- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1941 में मलयालम सिनेमा के फ़िल्म निर्माता अदूर गोपालकृष्णन का जन्म केरल के अदूर नामक गाँव में हुआ था. इनके पिता का नाम माधवन उन्नीथन और माता मोत्ताथु गौरी कुंजम्मा थीं. गोपालकृष्णन जब मात्र आठ वर्ष के थे, तभी उन्होंने शौकिया तौर पर नाटकों में एक अभिनेता के रूप में अपना कलात्मक जीवन शुरू कर दिया था. अदूर गोपालकृष्णन ने पुणे में स्थित ‘भारतीय फ़िल्म और टेलीविज़न प्रशिक्षण संस्थान’ से प्रशिक्षण हासिल किया. इसके बाद उन्होंने फ़िल्म निर्माण का कार्य प्रारम्भ किया. वर्ष 1972 में अदूर गोपाकृष्णन ने अपनी पहली फ़िल्म ‘स्वयंवरम’ बनाई. अदूर गोपालकृष्णन की फ़िल्में न केवल भारत में, बल्कि विदेशों में भी सराही जाती रही हैं. भारतीय सिनेमा में अदूर गोपालकृष्णन के अभूतपूर्व योगदान को देखते हुए उन्हें चार बार सर्वश्रेष्ठ निर्देशक का ‘राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार’ और तीन बार सर्वश्रेष्ठ पटकथा लेखक का ‘राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार’ मिल चुका है.
- शहीद मोहम्मद उस्मान:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1948 में भारतीय सेना के उच्च अधिकारी, जो भारत और पाकिस्तान के प्रथम युद्ध (1947-48) में शहीद हुए थे.
- विद्यासागर सेतु:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1979 में कोलकाता में दूसरे हावड़ा पुल के नाम से मशहूर विद्यासागर सेतु का निर्माण शुरु हुआ.
- खिलाड़ी हरभजन सिंह:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1980 में क्रिकेट खिलाड़ी हरभजन सिंह का जन्म जालन्धर, पंजाब में हुआ था. भारत के एक प्रसिद्ध दिग्गज ऑफ स्पिनर क्रिकेट खिलाड़ी है. जिन्हे लोग प्यार से भज्जी के नाम से बुलाते हैं. हरभजन की गिनती विश्व के टॉप स्पिनरों में की जाती है. उन्होंने क्रिकेट के सभी प्रारूपों में अपने अच्छे खेल का प्रदर्शन किया है. टेस्ट में उन्होंने भारत के लिए 103 मैचों में 417 विकेट लिए हैं वहीं, वनडे की बात की जाए तो उन्होंने 236 मैचों में 269 विकेट लेकर एक नया कीर्तिमान बनाया है.
- अभिनेत्री कृतिका सेंगर:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1986 में अभिनेत्री कृतिका सेंगर का जन्म कानपुर, उत्तर प्रदेश में एक सेंगर राजपूत परिवार में हुआ था. उनकी प्रारम्भिक शिक्षा कानपूर से हुई थी. उसके बाद उन्होंने मास कम्युनिकेशन में स्नातक की उपाधि नोएडा से प्राप्त की थी. कृतिका ने अपने कैरियर की शुरुआत टेलीविजन से की थी.
