- पेशवा घोषित किया:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1857 में नाना साहेब ने बिठूर में स्वयं को पेशवा घोषित करते हुये अंग्रेजों कोभारत से उखाड़ फेंकने का आह्वान भी किया.
- क्रान्तिकारी शिवप्रसाद गुप्त:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1883 में हिन्दी के समाचार पत्र ‘दैनिक आज’ के संस्थापक और क्रान्तिकारी शिवप्रसाद गुप्त का जन्म उत्तर प्रदेश के एक समृद्ध वैश्य परिवार में हुआ था. शिवप्रसाद ने संस्कृत, फ़ारसी और हिन्दी का अध्ययन घर पर ही किया था.उन्होंने इलाहाबाद से स्नात्तक की परीक्षा उत्तीर्ण की थी.पण्डित मदन मोहन मालवीय, लाला लाजपत राय, महात्मा गांधी, आचार्य नरेन्द्र देव तथा डॉ. भगवान दास से शिवप्रसाद गुप्त अत्यन्त प्रभावित थे.अपनी राष्ट्रवादी गतिविधियों के कारण अनेक बार जेल भी गये.
- पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री पी. वी. नरसिंह राव:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1921 में पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री पी. वी. नरसिंह राव का जन्म आंध्र प्रदेश के वांगरा ग्राम करीम नागर में हुआ था। राव का पूरा नाम परबमुल पार्थी वेंकट नरसिम्हा राव था. इनके पिता का नाम पी. रंगा था.नरसिम्हा राव ने उस्मानिया विश्वविद्यालय तथा नागपुर और मुम्बई विश्वविद्यालय में शिक्षा प्राप्त की थी। उन्होंने विधि संकाय में स्नातक तथा स्नातकोत्तर की उपाधियाँ प्राप्त कीं. नरसिम्हा राव को भारतीय संस्कृति और दर्शन में काफ़ी रुचि थी साथ ही इन्हें काल्पनिक लेखन भी पसन्द था. नरसिम्हा राव ने स्वाधीनता संग्राम में भी भाग लिया था। आज़ादी के बाद वह पूर्ण रूप से राजनीति में आ गए लेकिन उनकी राजनीति की धुरी उस समय आंध्र प्रदेश तक ही सीमित थी.पी. वी. नरसिम्हा राव ने संकट के समय में भी इंदिरा गांधी के प्रति वफ़ादारी निभाई.इंदिरा गांधी ने जब आपातकाल लगाया तब नरसिम्हा राव की निष्ठा में कोई भी कमी नहीं आई. नरसिम्हा राव के लिए प्रधानमंत्री का पद पाना तो अवश्य सहज रहा लेकिन इनको 5 वर्ष के अपने शासन काल में काफ़ी संघर्ष करना पड़ा. परन्तु राजनीति और कोयले की ख़दान में रहने वाले व्यक्ति पर दाग़ न लगे, यह कभी सम्भव ही नहीं था. इन पर भी भ्रष्टाचार और हवाला क़ारोबार के आरोप लगे. इनके विरुद्ध हर्षद मेहता ने यह दावा किया कि स्वयं पर लगे आरोपों से मुक्त होने के लिए उसने राव को एक करोड़ रुपयों की रिश्वत दी थी. अयोध्या में बाबरी मस्जिद ढहाए जाने के प्रकरण में भी प्रधानमंत्री नरसिम्हा राव की काफ़ी आलोचना हुई.
- एक टेस्ट की सीरीज:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1932 में इंग्लैंड ने लॉडर्स में तीन दिन के टेस्ट मैच में भारत को 158 रन हराकर एक टेस्ट की सीरीज जीती थी. इसमें दोनों टीमों के कई खिलाड़ियों ने पदार्पण किया था.
- प्रह्लाद सिंह पटेल:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1960 में भारतीय जनता पार्टीके वरिष्ठ राजनीतिज्ञप्रह्लाद सिंह पटेल का जन्म गोटेगाँव में हुआ था.
- वैज्ञानिक एवं सांख्यिकीविद पी. सी. महालनोबिस:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1972 में भारतीय वैज्ञानिक एवं सांख्यिकीविद पी. सी. महालनोबिस का निधन हुआ था.
- पार्श्व गायक विशाल ददलानी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1973 को विशाल ददलानी का जन्म मुंबई के एक सिंधी परिवार में हुआ था. उन्होंने अपनी शुरुआती पढ़ाई हिल ग्रेंज हाई स्कूल से की. उन्होंने एच. आर. कॉलेज ऑफ कॉमर्स से बी. कॉम की डिग्री हासिल की है. विशाल ने अपने फ़िल्मी करियर की शुरुआत प्यार में कभी कभी गाने से की थी. लेकिन विशाल को पहचान साल 2003 में फिल्म झंकार बीट्स से मिली. विशाल ने अपने टीवी करियर की शुरुआत टीवी सारे गा मा पा सिंगिंग सुपरस्टार से की थी. इस शो में वह बतौर जज नजर आये थे. इसके बाद वह इंडियन आइडल में बतौर जज भूमिका निभा चुके हैं.
- निशानेबाज जसपाल राणा:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1976 में निशानेबाज जसपाल राणा का जन्म चिलामू, टिहरी गढ़वाल ज़िला, उत्तराखण्ड के एक राजपूत परिवार में हुआ था. उनके पिता का नाम नारायण सिंह राणा और माता श्यामा राणा हैं. जसपाल राणा ने अपनी प्रारम्भिक शिक्षा आई.टी.बी.पी. पब्लिक स्कूल, मसूरी तथा एयर फ़ोर्स स्कूल, कानपुर से प्राप्त की थी. उन्होंने हाई स्कूल और इण्टर की परीक्षा केन्द्रीय विद्यालय, तुग़लकाबाद, दिल्ली से प्राप्त की. जसपाल राणा को भारतीय शूटिंग टीम का ‘टार्च बियरर’ कहा जाता है. उन्होंने अनेक प्रतियोगिताओं में भारत के लिए पदक जीत कर भारत का मान बढ़ाया है.
- मानसरोवर:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1981 में चीन ने कैलाश और मानसरोवर के लिये सड़क मार्ग खोला.
- मातृत्व अवकाश:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1986 में केन्द्र सरकार ने अविवाहित लड़कियों को भी मातृत्व अवकाश देने का कानून बनाया. नियम 1972 के नियम 43 में प्रावधान है कि दो से कम जीवित बच्चों वाली एक महिला सरकारी कर्मचारी को इसके प्रारंभ होने की तारीख से 180 दिनों की अवधि के लिए मातृत्व अवकाश दिया जा सकता है, और ऐसी अवधि के दौरान, उसे छुट्टी पर जाने से ठीक पहले मिलने वाले वेतन के बराबर छुट्टी वेतन का भुगतान किया जाएगा.
- अभिनेत्री जैस्मिन भसीन:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1990में अभिनेत्री जैस्मिन भसीन का जन्म नई दिल्ली में हुआ था. अपने कैरियर की शुरुआत वानम नामक एक तमिल फ़िल्म से की थी. जैस्मिन ने शहजाद देओल, जान कुमार सानू और रुबीना दिलैक के साथ भारतीय टेलीविजन रियलिटी शो बिग बॉस 14 में भाग लिया. जैस्मिन को वास्तविक प्रसिद्धि हिंदी टीवी सीरियल से मिली.
- मरियप्पन थंगावेलु:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1995 में ऊँची कूद के खिलाड़ी मरियप्पन थंगावेलु का जन्म तमिलनाडु के सलेम ज़िले के पेरियावादागामपट्टी गांव में हुआ था. महज पांच साल की उम्र में मरियप्पन थंगावेलु को अपनी एक टांग गंवानी पड़ी थी.उनकी मां, सरोजा साइकिल पर सब्जियाँ बेचने और मजदूरी का काम करती हैं. मार्च 2016 में मरियप्पन थंगावेलु ने 78 मीटर की छलांग लगाकर रियो के लिए क्वॉलिफाइ किया था, जबकि क्वॉलिफिकेश मार्क 1.60 मीटर था. उनके प्रदर्शन से इस बात का अंदाजा लग गया था कि ओलिंपिक का पदक उनकी पहुंच से दूर नहीं है.
- टाइगर स्टेट:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1995 में बाघों को शिकारियों से बचाने और उन्हें आश्रय देने के लिए मध्यप्रदेश को ‘टाइगर स्टेट’ घोषित किया गया.

- इंदुशर्मा कथा सम्मान:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2008 में लंदन के एक समारोह में नासिरा शर्मा को उनके उपन्यास कुईयां जान के लिए 14वां अंतर्राष्ट्रीय इंदुशर्मा कथा सम्मान प्रदान किया गया.

Rao’s full name was Parabamul Parthi Venkata Narasimha Rao. His father’s name was P. Ranga. Narasimha Rao was educated at Osmania University and Nagpur and Mumbai University. He obtained bachelor’s and master’s degrees in the Faculty of Law. Narasimha Rao had a lot of interest in Indian culture and philosophy, as well as he liked writing fiction. Narasimha Rao also participated in the freedom struggle. After independence, he came fully into politics but the axis of his politics was limited to Andhra Pradesh at that time. V. Narasimha Rao showed loyalty to Indira Gandhi even in times of crisis. When Indira Gandhi imposed an Emergency, there was no decrease in the loyalty of Narasimha Rao.
