- प्रथम दिल्ली का शासक बना:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1246 में नसीरुद्दीन मुहम्मद शाह प्रथम दिल्ली का शासक बना.
- बलराज भल्ला:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1888 में क्रांतिकारी तथा महात्मा हंसराज के पुत्र बलराज भल्ला का जन्म गुजरान्वाला पंजाब में हुआ था. बलराज भल्ला ने वर्ष 1911 ई. में एम. ए. की परीक्षा पास की थी, परंतु रासबिहारी बोस और खुदीराम बोस आदि के प्रभाव से वे छोटी उम्र में ही क्रांतिकारी आंदोलन में सम्मिलित हो गए थे. इस कारण उनकी विश्वविद्यालय की डिग्रियाँ वापस ले ली गईं.बलराज बड़े साहसी थे और बड़े से बड़ा खतरा उठाने के लिए तैयार रहते थे. उनका विश्वास था कि स्वतंत्रता के पवित्र उद्देश्य की पूर्ति के लिए साम्राज्यवाद के कुछ प्रतिनिधियों की जान लेने या सरकारी बैंकों को लूटने में कोई बुराई नहीं है.बलराज भल्ला भारत के ही प्रसिद्ध क्रांतिकारी लाला लाजपतराय के अनुयायी थे.जीवन के अंतिम दिनों में बलराज भल्ला का राजनीतिक हिंसा पर से विश्वास उठ गया था और वे राष्ट्रपिता महात्मा गाँधी के अहिंसक मार्ग के अनुयायी बन गए थे.
- असम के प्रथम मुख्यमंत्री गोपीनाथ बोरदोलोई:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1890 में स्वतंत्रता सेनानी और असम के प्रथम मुख्यमंत्री गोपीनाथ बोरदोलोई का जन्म असम, ब्रिटिश इंडिया में हुआ था. भारत की स्वतंत्रता के बाद उन्होने सरदार वल्लभ भाई पटेल के साथ नजदीक से कार्य किया. उनके योगदानों के कारण असम चीन और पूर्वी पाकिस्तान से बच के भारत का हिस्सा बन पाया. वे 19 सितंबर, 1938 से 17 नवंबर, 1939 तक असम के मुख्यमंत्री रहे. उन्हें वर्ष 1999 में भारत रत्न से सम्मानित किया गया.
- दामोदर मेनन:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1906 में स्वतंत्रता सेनानी दामोदर मेनन का जन्म केरल के ‘करमलूर’ नामक स्थान पर हुआ था. उन्होंने क़ानून की डिग्री प्राप्त की थी. पंडित जवाहर लाल नेहरू तथा महात्मा गाँधी का उनके जीवन पर व्यापक प्रभाव था. वर्ष 1957 में उन्हें केरल विधान सभा का सदस्य चुना गया था. दामोदर मेनन की गिनती उच्च कोटि के पत्रकारों में भी की जाती है. इनके आर्थिक विचार बड़े ही उदार हुआ करते थे.
- सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता मैरी क्लबवाला जाधव:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1908 में राजनीतिज्ञ और सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता मैरी क्लबवाला जाधव का जन्म हुआ था. उसने भारत में एक बड़ी संख्या में एनजीओ की स्थापना की और अक्सर भारत में सबसे पुराने संगठित सामाजिक कार्य निकायों को स्थापित करने का श्रेय दिया जाता है. उन्हें पद्म श्री द्वारा सम्मानित किया गया था.
- कवि शिवदीन राम जोशी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1921 में कवि शिवदीन राम जोशी का जन्म राजस्थान के सीकर ज़िले में खंडेला नामक स्थान पर हुआ था. इनके पिता का नाम सूरजभान तथा माता का नाम लक्ष्मी था. शिवदीन राम जोशी ने अपनी अल्प अवस्था दस वर्ष की उम्र से ही लेखन कार्य शुरू कर दिया था और उनका यह लेखन कार्य जीवन पर्यंत चलता ही रहा.
- सांसद गौरी शंकर राय:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1924 में गाजीपुर के पूर्व सांसद गौरी शंकर राय का जन्म हुआ था.
- एम. एस. गोपालकृष्णन:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1931 में वायलिन वादक एम. एस. गोपालकृष्णन का जन्म मद्रास, ब्रिटिश भारत में हुआ था. भारत के प्रसिद्ध वायलिन वादकों में से एक थे. ‘पद्मभूषण’ तथा अन्य पुरस्कारों से सम्मानित गोपालकृष्णन ने सात दशक तक वायलिन के सुरों से ‘हिन्दुस्तानी’ और ‘कर्नाटक संगीत’ के प्रेमियों को बांधे रखा था.
- राहुल बजाज:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1938 में सफल उद्योगपति राहुल बजाज का जन्म कोलकाता में हुआ था. राहुल बजाज ने लंबे समय तक देश के सबसे पुराने औद्योगिक घरानों में से एक बजाज ग्रुप का नेतृत्व किया. वह उद्योग जगत की बेबाक आवाज़ के तौर पर जाने जाते थे. तमाम मुद्दों पर वह खरी-खरी बोलने में विश्वास करते थे.कॉरपोरेट इंडिया की चिंता हो या देशहित से जुड़ा मुद्दा बजाज ने कभी भी खुल कर बोलने से गुरेज नहीं किया.बजाज ने अपने कारोबारी दक्षता से अपने ग्रुप बजाज को देश की ऑटो इंडस्ट्री का सिरमौर बना दिया था. उनके नेतृत्व में बजाज स्कूटर को अपार लोकप्रियता मिली. इस स्कूटर का विज्ञापन ‘ हमारा बजाज’ नेशनल एंथम जैसा बन गया. यह भारत की आत्मनिर्भरता का प्रतीक बन गया था.
- अभिनेता सुकुमारन:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1948 में मलयालम फिल्म अभिनेता सुकुमारन का जन्म हुआ था.
- बैडमिंटन खिलाड़ी प्रकाश पादुकोण:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1955 में भूतपूर्व बैडमिंटन खिलाड़ी प्रकाश पादुकोण का जन्म हुआ था. वह पहले भारतीय थे जो अंतर्राष्ट्रीय बैडमिंटन रैंकिंग में विश्व के नंबर एक बने.
- लेखक वेद प्रकाश शर्मा:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1955 में लेखक वेद प्रकाश शर्मा का जन्म मुजफ्फरनगर जिले के बिहरा गांव के रहने वाले थे.उन्होंने सस्ते और लोकप्रिय उपन्यासों की रचना की है.वर्दी वाला गुंडा वेद प्रकाश शर्मा का सफलतम थ्रिलर उपन्यास है.भारत में जनसाधारण में लोकप्रिय थ्रिलर उपन्यासों की दुनिया में यह उपन्यास “क्लासिक” का दर्जा रखता है.
- कवि भाई वीर सिंह:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1957 में आधुनिक पंजाबी काव्य और गद्य के निर्माता कवि भाई वीर सिंह का निधन हुआ था.
- साहित्यकार अनूप सेठी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1958 में साहित्यकार अनूप सेठी का जन्म हिमाचल प्रदेश के हमीरपुर ज़िले के दरवैली गाँव में हुआ था. कविता-लेखन की शुरुआत छात्र-जीवन से हो गई थी और पत्रिकाओं में छपने लगे थे। कॉलेज में कविता लेखन और पाठ तथा नाटकों में अभिनय और निर्देशन के लिए पुरस्कृत हुए. उनकी आरंभिक शिक्षा-दीक्षा के बाद हिंदी में एम.ए. राजकीय महाविद्यालय धर्मशाला से और एम.फिल. गुरु नानक देव विश्वविद्यालय अमृतसर से किया। 1983 में आकाशवाणी विविध भारती में कार्यक्रम निष्पादक के पद पर नियुक्ति हुई जहाँ अनेक नाटकों, साक्षात्कारों, परिचर्चाओं और वार्ताओं का प्रस्तुतीकरण किया.
- राजनीतिज्ञ नंदमुरी बालकृष्ण:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1960 में तेलुगू अभिनेता और राजनीतिज्ञ नंदमुरी बालकृष्ण का जन्म हुआ था.
- युद्धक विमान मिग का उत्पादन:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1960 में रूसी युद्धक विमान मिग का उत्पादन नासिक (महाराष्ट्र) में हुआ था.

- Balraj Bhalla:- On this day in the year 1888 Balraj Bhalla, revolutionary and son of Mahatma Hansraj, was born in Gujranwala Punjab. Balraj Bhalla did his M.A. in the year 1911 AD. He had passed the examination, but due to the influence of Rasbihari Bose and Khudiram Bose, etc., he joined the revolutionary movement at a young age. For this reason, his university degrees were taken back. Balraj was very courageous and was ready to take the biggest risk. He believed that there was nothing wrong in taking the lives of some representatives of imperialism or robbing government banks in the pursuit of the holy cause of freedom. After India’s independence, he worked closely with Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Due to his contributions, Assam was able to escape from China and East Pakistan and became a part of India. He was the Chief Minister of Assam from 19 September 1938 to 17 November 1939. He was awarded Bharat Ratna in the year 1999.
