1. किले पर कब्जा:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1658 में औरंगजेब ने आगरा के क़िले पर क़ब्ज़ा किया और शाहजहां को कैद कर लिया था.
2. उत्तराधिकार की लड़ाई:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1707 में बादशाह मुअज्जम (शाह आलम) ने आगरा के समीप जजाउ क्षेत्र में उत्तराधिकार की लड़ाई में बादशाह आजम को हराया था.
3. मराठी दार्शनिक दिनकर केशव बेडेकर:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1910 में मराठी दार्शनिक व आलोचक दिनकर केशव बेडेकर का जन्म हुआ था.
4. गीतकार और संगीतकार गजाननराव वटवे:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1917 में गीतकार और संगीतकार गजाननराव वटवे का जन्म हुआ था.
5. क्रिकेटर सैयद नज़ीर अली:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1932 में क्रिकेटर सैयद नज़ीर अली का जन्म पंजाब के जालंधर में हुआ था. भारत के दाएं हाथ के बल्‍लेबाज और दाएं हाथ के गेंदबाज नजीर अली ने अपने भाई वजीर अली के साथ भारतीय क्रिकेट इतिहास के पहले टेस्‍ट में हिस्‍सा लिया था. ये मैच साल 1932 में लॉडर्स में खेला गया था. नजीर एक ऑलराउंडर थे जिन्‍होंने ससेक्‍स (Sussex) के लिए भी दो मैचों में हिस्‍सा लिया. उन्‍होंने भारत के लिए 2 टेस्‍ट में 30 रन बनाए और 4 विकेट लिए. 75 प्रथम श्रेणी मैचों में उन्‍होंने 3440 रन बनाए और 158 विकेट हासिल किए.
6. ऑल इंडिया रेडियो:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1936 में इंडियन स्टेट ब्रोडकास्टिंग सर्विस का नाम बदलकर ऑल इंडिया रेडियो कर दिया गया.
7. हवाई सेवा शुरु:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1948 में भारत की पहली विमान सेवा एयर इंडिया ने भारत और ब्रिटेन के बीच हवाई सेवा शुरु.
8. अभिनेत्री डिंपल कपाड़िया:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1948 में अभिनेत्री डिंपल कपाड़िया का जन्म एक गुजराती परिवार में हुआ था. उनके पिता का नाम चुन्नीलाल भाई कपाड़िया था. जोकि एक बहुत बड़े व्यापारी थे. कापड़िया अपने चार भाई-बहनों में सबसे बड़ी थीं. डिंपल की दो छोटी बहनें और एक भाई है. डिंपल की शादी उनसे 15 साल बड़े सुपरस्टार राजेश खन्ना से हुई थी. हालंकि डिंपल और राजेश का यह प्रेम विवाह सिर्फ दस साल तक ही टिक सका. उनकी दो बेटियां भी हैं। रिंकी खन्ना-ट्विंकल खन्ना. डिंपल ने अपने करियर की शुरुआत की वर्ष 1973 में निर्देशक राजकपूर की फ़िल्म ‘बॉबी’ से की थी. इस फ़िल्म में उनके अपोजिट ऋषि कपूर थे. इस फ़िल्म से कपाड़िया रातों-रात सुपरस्टार बन गयीं थीं.डिंपल ने फ़िल्मी करियर में अब तक तकरीबन 75 फिल्मों में अभिनय किया है. ‘सागर’ फिल्म के बाद डिंपल की छवि एक बोल्ड एक्ट्रेस के तौर पर बन गई.फिल्म ‘रुदाली’ के लिए डिंपल को नेशनल अवॉर्ड भी मिल चुका है.
9. मदुराई मणि अय्यर:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1968 में गायक मदुराई मणि अय्यर का निधन हुआ था.
10. अभिनेत्री शिल्पा शेट्टी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1975 में मैंगलूर में एक परम्परागत परिवार में हुआ. उनकी माता का नाम सुनन्दा है और उनके पिता सुरेन्द्र शेट्टी है जो औषधि निर्माण उद्योग में काम करते हैं. शिल्‍पा ने मुंबई में चेंबूर के एंथनी गर्ल्‍स हाईस्‍कूल से पढ़ाई पूरी की और फिर पोद्दार कॉलेज से पढ़ाई की. शिल्पा सिर्फ पढाई में ही नहीं बल्कि नृत्य और खेल में भी अव्वल थीं. शिल्‍पा एक प्रशिक्षित भरतनाट्यम नृत्‍यांगना हैं. अपने स्‍कूली दिनों में वो वॉलीबॉल टीम की कैप्‍टन भी रह चुकी हैं. शिल्पा ने अपने करियर की शुरुआत बतौर सहायक अभिनेत्री फिल्म बाजीगर से की थी. वर्ष 1994 में आई फिल्‍म आग में शिल्‍पा को पहली मुख्‍य भूमिका मिलीथी. शिल्पा अभी तक हिंदी, तमिल, तेलुगु और कन्नड़ में करीब 40 फिल्में कर चुकी हैं. शिल्पा शेट्टी की शादी व्यवसायी राज कुंद्रा के साथ सम्पन्न हुई है.
11. एथलीट एम. पी. जबीर:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1996 में एथलीट एम. पी. जबीर का जन्म हुआ.
12. मिश्रित युगल ख़िताब:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1997 में फ़्रेंच ओपन टेनिस प्रतियोगिता में भारत के महेश भूपति ने मिश्रित युगल ख़िताब जीतकर इतिहास बनाया.
