1. चौसा की लड़ाई:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1539 में बक्सर के निकट चौसा की लड़ाई में अफगान शेरशाह सूरी ने मुगल बादशाह हुमायु को हराया.
2. बीबी मुमताज बेगम:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1631 में मुगल बादशाह शाहजहां की बीबी मुमताज बेगम की बुरहानपुर में 39 वर्ष की आयु में मृत्यु हो गई थी..
3. प्रथम बार सविनय अवज्ञा:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1839 में महात्मा गांधी ने दक्षिण अफ्रिका में प्रथम बार सविनय अवज्ञा का प्रयोग किया.
4. दूसरे उपग्रह भास्कर:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1989 में भारत के दूसरे उपग्रह भास्कर प्रथम का सोवियत रॉकेट से प्रक्षेपण किया गया.
5. अभिनेता केष्टो मुखर्जी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1905 में अभिनेता केशो मुखर्जी का जन्म हुआ था. केष्टो शराबी की खास तरह की भूमिका के लिए जाने जाते थे.बताते चलें कि, केष्टो अपनी निजी जिंदगी में शराब को हाथ भी नहीं लगाते थे.
6. ख़्वाजा अहमद अब्बास:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1914 में फ़िल्म निर्देशक, पटकथा लेखक और उर्दू लेखक ख़्वाजा अहमद अब्बास का जन्म पानीपत, हरियाणा में हुआ था. अब्बास के दादा ‘ख़्वाजा ग़ुलाम अब्बास’ थे जो 1857 के विद्रोह के शहीदों में से एक थे. उनके पिता ‘ग़ुलाम-उस-सिबतैन’ थे और’मसरूर ख़ातून’ उनकी माँ थीं. अब्बास ने अपनी प्रारंभिक शिक्षा ‘हाली मुस्लिम हाई स्कूल’ से ली जो उनके परदादा, उर्दू शायर ख़्वाजा अल्ताफ़ हुसैन हाली द्वारा स्थापित किया गया था. 15 वर्ष की आयु में मैट्रिक समाप्त कर लेने के बाद, बह अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय में चले गए और वहां बी.ए. (1933) और एल.एल.बी (1935) की पढाई पूरी की. अब्बास ने जल्द ही एक पत्रकार के रूप में अपना कैरियर शुरू कर दिया. उन्होंने ‘अलीगढ़ ओपिनियन’ नाम की देश की पहली छात्र-प्रकाशित पत्रिका शुरू की. वर्ष1935 में, अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय से बाहर आने के बाद, वे बॉम्बे क्रॉनिकल में शामिल हो गए जहां उन्हें जल्द ही फ़िल्म विभाग के संपादक के रूप में पदोन्नत कर दिया गया. वर्ष 1936 में, वे बॉम्बे टॉकीज़ के पार्ट-टाईम पब्लिसिस्ट के रूप में फ़िल्मों में आ गएं जो हिमांशु राय और देविका रानी की प्रॉडक्शन कम्पनी थी. अब्बास ने 1941 में अपनी पहली पटकथा ‘नया संसार’ भी इसी कंपनी को बेची थी.
7. अभिनेता टीकू टालसनिया:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1956 में अभिनेता टीकू टालसनिया का जन्म हुआ था.
8. महेश भूपति:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1974 में भारत के टेनिस खिलाड़ी महेश भूपति का जन्म बैंगलौर, कर्नाटक), में हुआ था. इनका पूरा नाम ‘महेश श्रीनिवास भूपति’ है. भूपति ने टेनिस में लिएडर पेस के साथ युगल मुकाबलों में शानदार सफलता अर्जित की है. महेश के पिता जी का नाम सी. जी. के. भूपति है.महेश के पिता जी टेनिस के खिलाड़ी और डेविस कप टीम के सदस्य रह चके है.
9. पहले विश्व कप: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1975 में पहले विश्व कप का पहला मैच 1975 में भारत-इंग्लैंड के बीच लंदन के लॉडर्स स्टेडियम में खेला गया.इसमें भारत की हार हुई.
10. दूसरे उपग्रह भास्कर-एक:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1979 में भारत के दूसरे उपग्रह भास्कर-एक को 1979 में सोवियत संघ के बीयर्स लेक से छोड़ा गया.
11. बासप्पा दनप्पा जत्ती:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2002 में भारत के उपराष्ट्रपति और कार्यवाहक राष्ट्रपति का निधन हुआ. जत्ती का कार्यकाल 31 अगस्त 1974 से 30 अगस्त 1979 तक पाच सालों का रहा. वर्ष 1977 में राष्ट्रपति फ़ख़रुद्दीन अली अहमद के निधन के बाद छह माह (11फरवरी से 25 जुलाई) तक जत्ती भारत के कार्यवाहक राष्ट्रपति थे.
12. सुमित अंतिल:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2006 में भाला फेंक पैरा एथलीट सुमित अंतिल का जन्म सोनीपत,हरियाणा में हुआ था. उन्होंने ग्रीष्मकालीन पैरालम्पिक, 2020 (टोक्यो पैरालम्पिक) में देश के लिये स्वर्ण पदक जीता है. उन्होंने 30 अगस्त, 2021 को पुरुषों (एफ 64 वर्ग) के फाइनल मुकाबले में स्वर्ण पदक जीता. सुमित ने 68.55 मीटर दूर भाला फेंककर स्वर्ण पदक अपने नाम किया है. भारत सरकार ने उन्हें पद्म श्री, 2022 से सम्मानित किया है.
13. आर्थिक पुनर्निर्माण:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2006 में भारत द्वारा नेपाल को आर्थिक पुनर्निर्माण के लिए एक अरब रुपये देने का निर्णय.
14. रसोई गैस पर लगने वाले 4% वैट को:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2008 में उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार ने रसोई गैस पर लगने वाले 4% वैट को पूरी तरह से समाप्त घोषित किया.
15. नृत्य गुरु नटराज रामकृष्ण: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2011 में नृत्य गुरु नटराज रामकृष्ण का निधन हुआ.

1. Battle of Chausa: – On this day in the year 1539, Afghan Sher Shah Suri defeated Mughal emperor Humayun in the battle of Chausa near Buxar.
2. Bibi Mumtaz Begum:- On this day in the year 1631, Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan’s wife Mumtaz Begum died at the age of 39 in Burhanpur.
3. Civil disobedience for the first time: – On this day in the year 1839, Mahatma Gandhi used civil disobedience for the first time in South Africa.
4. Second satellite Bhaskar:- On this day in the year 1989, India’s second satellite Bhaskar I was launched from a Soviet rocket.
5. Actor Kesho Mukherjee: – On this day in the year 1905, actor Kesho Mukherjee was born. Keshto was known for his characteristic character of a drunkard. It should be mentioned that Keshto did not even touch alcohol in his personal life.
6. Khwaja Ahmad Abbas:- On this day in the year 1914, film director, screenwriter, and Urdu writer Khwaja Ahmad Abbas was born in Panipat, Haryana. Abbas’s grandfather was ‘Khwaja Ghulam Abbas’ who was one of the martyrs of the 1857 rebellion. His father was ‘Ghulam-us-Sibtain’ and his mother was ‘Masroor Khatoon’. Abbas took his early education from ‘Hali Muslim High School’ which was established by his great-grandfather, Urdu poet Khwaja Altaf Hussain Hali. After completing his matriculation at the age of 15, Bah went to the Aligarh Muslim University and graduated there with a B.A. (1933) and completed LLB (1935). Abbas soon started his career as a journalist. He started the country’s first student-published magazine named ‘Aligarh Opinion’. In 1935, after coming out of Aligarh Muslim University, he joined the Bombay Chronicle where he was soon promoted to editor of the film department. In the year 1936, he moved to films as a part-time publicist for Bombay Talkies, the production company of Himanshu Rai and Devika Rani. Abbas had also sold his first screenplay ‘Naya Sansar’ to this company in 1941.

Mahesh’s father has been a tennis player and a member of the Davis Cup team.

11. Basappa Danappa Jatti:- On this day in the year 2002, the Vice President and Acting President of India passed away. Jatti’s tenure was for five years from 31 August 1974 to 30 August 1979. After the death of President Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed in the year 1977, Jatti was the acting President of India for six months (11 February to 25 July).
12. Sumit Antil:- On this day in the year 2006, javelin thrower para athlete Sumit Antil was born in Sonipat, Haryana. He won the gold medal for the country in the Summer Paralympics, 2020 (Tokyo Paralympics). He won the gold medal in the men’s (F64 category) final on August 30, 2021. Sumit won the gold medal by throwing the javelin 68.55 meters away. The Government of India has honored him with the Padma Shri, 2022.
