1. वास्कोडिगामा: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1524 में वास्कोडिगामा वायसराय की उपाधि के साथ भारत आये और उन्हें भारत के गवर्नर के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया था.
2. ‘उप प्रधानमंत्री चौधरी देवी लाल: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1914 में भारत के पूर्व उप प्रधानमंत्री चौधरी देवी लाल का जन्म हरियाणा के सिरसा जिले के तेजाखेड़ा गांव में हुआ था. उनके पिता का नाम लेख राम था. आजादी के बाद पहली बार चौधरी देवी लाल वर्ष 1952 में विधायक बने और वर्ष 1957-62 तक पंजाब विधानसभा के सदस्य भी रहे. चौधरी देवी लाल 19 अक्टूबर 1989 से 21 जून 1991तक भारत के उप-प्रधानमंत्री रहे.
3. पंडित दीनदयाल उपाध्याय: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1916 में पंडित दीनदयाल उपाध्याय का जन्म मथुरा ज़िले के गाँव ‘नगला चंद्रभान’ में हुआ था. उनके पिता का नाम भगवती प्रसाद उपाध्याय और माता का नाम रामप्यारी था. दीनदयाल के पिता रेलवे में नौकरी करते थे अक्सर ही वो बहार ही रहते थे. दीनदयाल के छोटे भाई के जन्म के बाद वो ननिहाल गए जहा उनके नाना भी रेलवे में स्टेशन मास्टर थे. जब दीनदयाल सात वर्ष के थे तो उनके माता-पिता बका देहांत हो गया था. गंगापुर में दीनदयाल की प्राथमिक शिक्षा का शुभारम्भ हुआ लेकिन, उनके नाना का भी देहांत हो गया. दीनदयाल जी का प्रिय विषय गणित था और वो गणित में हमेशा अव्वल अंक प्राप्त करते थे. वर्ष 1937 में दीनदयाल इण्टरमीडिएट की परीक्षा में सर्वाधिक अंक प्राप्त कर एक कीर्तिमान स्थापित किया. दीनदयाल ने लखनऊ में राष्ट्र धर्म प्रकाशन नामक प्रकाशन संस्थान की स्थापना किया. वर्ष 1950 में केन्द्र में पूर्व मंत्री डॉ. श्यामा प्रसाद मुखर्जी ने ‘नेहरू – लियाकत समझौते’ का विरोध किया और मंत्रिमंडल के अपने पद से त्यागपत्र दे दिया तथा लोकतांत्रिक ताकतों का एक साझा मंच बनाने के लिए वे विरोधी पक्ष में शामिल हो गए. वर्ष 1951 में दीनदयाल ने उत्तर प्रदेश में राजनीतिक सम्मेलन आयोजित कर एक नई पार्टी की राज्य इकाई, भारतीय जनसंघ की नींव डाली थी.
4. रॉकेट वैज्ञानिक सतीश धवन: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1920 में रॉकेट वैज्ञानिक सतीश धवन का जन्म श्रीनगर में हुआ था. उन्होंने,  वर्ष 1972 में ‘भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन’ (इसरो) के अध्यक्ष के रूप में भारतीय अंतरिक्ष कार्यक्रम के जनक ‘विक्रम साराभाई’ का स्थान ग्रहण किया था. सतीश धवन ने ग्रामीण शिक्षा, सुदूर संवेदन और उपग्रह संचार पर अग्रगामी प्रयोग व प्रयासों से इन्सैट-एक दूरसंचार उपग्रह, आईआरएस-भारतीय सुदूर संवेदन उपग्रह और ध्रुवीय उपग्रह प्रक्षेपण यान (पीएसएलवी) जैसी प्रचालनात्मक प्रणालियों का मार्ग प्रशस्त हुआ था.
5. फिल्म निर्माता-निर्देशक फिरोज खान: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1939 में फिल्म निर्माता-निर्देशक फिरोज खान का जन्म बंगलौर के एक पठान परिवार में हुआ था. फिरोज के पिता पठान थे जबकि माँ ईरानी थीं. फिरोज खान ने अपने अभिनय कैरियर की शुरुआत वर्ष 1960 में फ़िल्म दीदी से किया था. फिरोज को आदमी और इंसान फ़िल्म के लिए फ़िल्म फेयर अवार्ड मिला था. उन्होंने कई फिल्मों में अभिनय किया साथ ही उन्होंने कई फिल्मों का निर्देशन भी किया था.
6. प्रथम महिला चिकित्सक रखमाबाई राऊत: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1955 में भारत की पहली महिला चिकित्सक रखमाबाई राऊत का निधन हुआ था.
7. अभिनेत्री दिव्या दत्ता: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1977 में अभिनेत्री दिव्या दत्ता का जन्म पंजाब के लुधियाना में हुआ था. दिव्या की प्रारम्भिक शिक्षाहार्ट कॉन्वेंट स्कूल से की और आगे की पढ़ाई कैम्ब्रिज स्कूल लुधियाना से की थी. दिव्या ने अपने अभिनय कैरियर की शुरुआत वर्ष 1994 में फिल्म इश्क में जीना इश्क में मरना से की थी. उसके बाद वर्ष 1995 में पहली बार बतौर लीड फिल्म सलमान खान के अपोजिट वीरगति मिली थी जो की बुरी तरह पिट गयी थी. वर्ष 2004 में दिव्या को पहचान यशराज फिल्म्स की फिल्म वीरजारा से मिली थी.
8. अभिनेत्री सपना चौधरी: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1980 में सपना चौधरी का जन्म दिल्ली के महिपालपुर में हुआ था. उनके पिता का नाम भूपेंद्र अत्रि है. सपना ने अपने कैरियर की शुरुआत हरियाणा के एक ऑर्केस्ट्रा टीम के साथ की थी. सपना को मुख्य तौर पर बॉलीवुड में आइटम सांग के लिए जाना जाता है.
9. साहित्यकार सुदर्शन सिंह चक्र: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1989 में साहित्यकार सुदर्शन सिंह चक्र का निधन हुआ था.
10. स्वतंत्रता सेनानी प्रफुल्लचंद्र सेन: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1990 में बंगाल के प्रमुख कांग्रेसी नेता, महात्मा गांधी जी के अनुयायी और स्वतंत्रता सेनानी प्रफुल्लचंद्र सेन का निधन हुआ था.
11. साहित्यकार कन्हैयालाल नंदन: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2010 में साहित्यकार कन्हैयालाल नंदन का निधन हुआ था.

1. Vasco da Gama: – On this day in the year 1524, Vasco da Gama came to India with the title of Viceroy and was appointed as the Governor of India.
2. Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhary Devi Lal: – On this day in the year 1914, former Deputy Prime Minister of India Chaudhary Devi Lal was born in Tejakheda village of Sirsa district of Haryana. His father’s name was Lekh Ram. For the first time after independence, Chaudhary Devi Lal became an MLA in 1952 and was also a member of the Punjab Assembly from 1957-62. Chaudhary Devi Lal was the Deputy Prime Minister of India from 19 October 1989 to 21 June 1991.
3. Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay: – On this day in the year 1916, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay was born in village ‘Nagla Chandrabhan’ of Mathura district. His father’s name was Bhagwati Prasad Upadhyay and his mother’s name was Rampyari. Deendayal’s father used to work in Railways and he often stayed outside. After the birth of Deendayal’s younger brother, he went to his maternal home where his maternal grandfather was also a station master in the Railways. When Deendayal was seven years old, his parents died. Deendayal’s primary education started in Gangapur, but his maternal grandfather also passed away. Deendayal Ji’s favourite subject was mathematics and he always scored top marks in mathematics. In the year 1937, he set a record by scoring the highest marks in the Deendayal Intermediate examination. Deendayal established a publishing house named Rashtra Dharma Prakashan in Lucknow. In the year 1950, former Union Minister Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee opposed the ‘Nehru-Liaquat Pact’ and resigned from his post in the Cabinet and joined the opposition to form a common platform of democratic forces. In 1951, Deendayal organized a political conference in Uttar Pradesh and laid the foundation of a new party, the state unit of Bharatiya Jana Sangh.
4. Rocket scientist Satish Dhawan: – On this day in the year 1920, rocket scientist Satish Dhawan was born in Srinagar. In 1972, he succeeded the father of the Indian space programme, Vikram Sarabhai, as the Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). Satish Dhawan’s pioneering experiments and efforts on rural education, remote sensing and satellite communications have led to operational systems like INSAT-a telecommunications satellite, IRS-Indian Remote Sensing Satellite and Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV).
5. Film producer-director Firoz Khan: – On this day in the year 1939, film producer-director Firoz Khan was born in a Pathan family in Bangalore. Firoz’s father was Pathan while his mother was Irani. Firoz Khan started his acting career in the year 1960 with the film Didi. Firoz received the Filmfare Award for the film Aadmi Aur Insaan. He acted in many films and also directed many films.
6. First female doctor Rakhmabai Raut:- On this day in the year 1955, India’s first female doctor Rakhmabai Raut died.
7. Actress Divya Dutta: – On this day in the year 1977, actress Divya Dutta was born in Ludhiana, Punjab. Divya did her primary education at Heart Convent School and her further studies at Cambridge School, Ludhiana. Divya started her acting career in the year 1994 with the film Ishq Mein Jeena Ishq Mein Marna. After that, in the year 1995, for the first time, she got Veergati as a lead film opposite Salman Khan, which was badly flopped. In the year 2004, Divya got recognition from Yash Raj Films’ film Veerjaara.
