- क्रिकेट खिलाड़ी रणजीत सिंह:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1872 में रणजीत सिंह का जन्म नवानगर राज्य के सदोदर नामक गांव में जाडेजा राजपूत परिवार में हुआ था. उनके पिता का नाम जीवन सिंह और दादा का नाम झालम सिंह था जो नवानगर के महाराजा जाम साहेब विभाजी जाडेजा के परिवार में से थे.रणजीत सिंह एक बेहतरीन क्रिकेट खिलाड़ी और बल्लेबाज़ थे जिन्होंने भारतीय क्रिकेट के विकास में अहम भूमिका अदा की थी. उनकी गिनती सभी समय के सर्वश्रेष्ठ बल्लेबाजों में होती है. रणजीत सिंह के नाम पर ही रणजी ट्रॉफी खेली जाती है.
- उत्तर प्रदेश के प्रथम मुख्यमंत्री गोविन्द बल्लभ पंत:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1887 में स्वतंत्रता सेनानी एवं उत्तर प्रदेश के प्रथम मुख्यमंत्री गोविन्द बल्लभ पंत का जन्म का जन्म अल्मोड़ा ज़िले के खोत नामक स्थान पर हुआ था. इस परिवार का सम्बन्ध कुमाऊँ की एक अत्यन्त प्राचीन और सम्मानित परम्परा से है.भारतीय संविधान में हिन्दी भाषा को राष्ट्रभाषा का दर्जा दिलाने और जमींदारी प्रथा को खत्म कराने में गोविन्द बल्लभ पंत का महत्वपूर्ण योगदान था. वर्ष 1947 में उनके स्वतन्त्रता संग्राम में योगदान देने, उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री तथा भारत के गृहमंत्री के रूप में उत्कृष्ट कार्य करने के उपलक्ष्य में राष्ट्रपति राजेन्द्र प्रसाद द्वारा भारत रत्न से सम्मानित किया गया था.बताते चलें कि, जब गोविन्द बल्लभ पंत भारत के गृह मंत्री थे तो उन्ही के शासन काल में भारत रत्न का सम्मान की शुरुआत की गई थी.
- गद्यकार राधिकारमण प्रसाद सिंह:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1890 में गद्यकार राधिकारमण प्रसाद सिंह का जन्म शाहाबाद (बिहार) के सूर्यपुरा नामक स्थान पर प्रसिद्ध ज़मींदार राजा राजराजेश्वरी सिंह ‘प्यारे’ के यहाँ हुआ था.
- आर्यसमाजी भवानी दयाल संन्यासी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1892 में आर्यसमाजी भवानी दयाल संन्यासी का जन्म जोहान्सबर्ग, दक्षिण अफ़्रीका में हुआ था. उनके पिता जयराम सिंह और उनकी माता कुली बन कर भारत से वहां गए थे.
- तेलुगू साहित्यकार विश्वनाथ सत्यनारायण:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1895 में तेलुगू साहित्यकार विश्वनाथ सत्यनारायण का जन्म नंदमूरु गाँव, कृष्णा ज़िला, आंध्र प्रदेश में हुआ था. विश्वनाथ सत्यनारायण को साहित्य एवं शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में भारत सरकार द्वारा वर्ष 1971 में पद्म भूषण से सम्मानित किया गया था.
- कार्यवाहक राष्ट्रपति बी. डी. जत्ती:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1912 में कार्यवाहक राष्ट्रपति बी. डी. जत्ती का जन्म बीजापुर ज़िले के सवालगी ग्राम में हुआ था. फ़ख़रुद्दीन अली अहमद की मृत्यु के बाद भारत के कार्यवाहक राष्ट्रपति थे. कार्यवाहक राष्ट्रपति के रूप में इनका कार्यकाल 11 फ़रवरी 1977 से 25 जुलाई 1977 तक रहा था.
- क्रांतिकारी यतीन्द्रनाथ मुखर्जी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1915 में क्रांतिकारी यतीन्द्रनाथ मुखर्जी का निधन हुआ था.
- बांगला उपन्यासकार सुकुमार राय:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1923 में बांगला उपन्यासकार सुकुमार राय का निधन हुआ था.
- दून विद्यालय की स्थापना:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1935 में सतीश संजन दास द्वारा दून विद्यालय की स्थापना की गयी थी. वे भारत के एक स्वतंत्रता सेनानी चितरंजन दास और भारत के एक मुख्य न्यायाधीश सुधि संजन दास के भाई थे.
- लेखिका चित्रा मुद्गल:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1944 में लेखिका चित्रा मुद्गल का जन्म चेन्नई (तमिलनाडु) में हुआ था. उनकी प्रारंभिक शिक्षा पैतृक गांव उत्तर प्रदेश के उन्नाव ज़िले में स्थित निहाली खेड़ा और उच्च शिक्षा मुंबई विश्वविद्यालय में हुई थी. चित्रा मुद्गल के लेखन में जहाँ एक ओर निरंतर रीती होती जा रही मानवीय संवेदनाओं का चित्रण होता है, वहीं दूसरी ओर नए जमाने की रफ्तार में फँसी जिंदगी की मजबूरियों का चित्रण भी बड़े सलीके से किया है.
- अभिनेत्री भक्ति बर्वे:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1948 में अभिनेत्री भक्ति बर्वे का जन्म मुंबई में हुआ था. उनके पिता का नाम कृष्णराव था. भक्ति एक भारतीय अभिनेत्री हैं जो मुख्यत: मराठी, गुजराती और हिंदी फिल्मों में काम करती हैं. भक्ति ने वर्ष 1983 में आई कॉमेडी फिल्म जाने भी दो यारों में शोभा सेन का किरदार निभया था. इसके अलावा उन्होंने कई थिएटरों में भी काम किया है.
