1. सेनापति जयसिंह:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1611 में आमेर के राजा तथा मुग़ल साम्राज्य के वरिष्ठ सेनापति जयसिंह का जन्म हुआ था. जय सिंह आमेर राज्य के कच्छवाहा राजवंश के छबीस्वे शासक थे. जिन्होंने 46 वर्ष तक आमेर राज्य की गद्दी संभाली‌‌ थी.
2. भारतीय विद्रोह:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1857 में कानपुर में दूसरा नरसंहार हुआ था. बताते चलें कि, सतीचौरा घाट पर हुए कत्लेआम से बौखलाई अंग्रेजी हुकूमत ने धीरे-धीरे कानपुर को चारों तरफ से घेरना शुरू किया. इसी दौरान देर शाम बीबीघर में रह रही सभी महिलाओं और बच्चों के मौत के घाट उतार कर( अंग्रेजी महिलाओं और उनके बच्चों को नानाराव पार्क के बीबीघर रहने के लिए भेज दिया गया ) 16 जुलाई की सुबह शवों को कुएं में डाल दिया गया. बीबीघर कांड ने अंग्रेजो को अंदर तक झकझोर कर रख दिया था.
3. जमशेद जी जीजाभाई:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1883 में जमशेद जी जीजाभाई का जन्म मुंबई में एक ग़रीब परिवार में हुआ था. आर्थिक तंगी के कारण वे शिक्षा ग्रहण नहीं कर सके. 12 वर्ष की छोटी उम्र में अपने मामा के साथ पुरानी बोतलें बेचने के धंधे में लग गए थे. वर्ष 1899 में माता-पिता का देहांत हो जाने से परिवार का पूरा भार जीजाभाई ऊपर आ गया था. जमशेद जी में बड़ी व्यवसाय-बुद्धि थी. व्यवहार से जमशेद जी जीजाभाई ने साधारण हिसाब रखना और कामचलाऊ अंग्रेज़ी सीख ली थी. उन्होंने अपने व्यापार का भारत के बाहर विस्तार किया। भाड़े के जहाज़ों में चीन के साथ वस्तुओं का क्रय-विक्रय करने लगे. करीब 20 वर्ष के थे, तभी उन्होंने पहली चीन यात्रा की. कुल मिलाकर वे पांच बार चीन गए थे. एक बार पुर्तग़ालियों ने उनका जहाज़ पकड़कर लूट लिया और उन्हें केप ऑफ़ गुडहोप के पास छोड़ दिया था. किसी तरह मुंबई आकर उन्होंने फिर अपने को संभाला और वर्ष 1914 में अपना जहाज़ ख़रीदने के बाद जहाजी बेड़ा बढ़ाने और निरंतर उन्नति की दिशा में बढ़ते गए. सांप्रदायिक भेदभाव से दूर रहने वाले जीजाभाई ने महिलाओं की स्थिति सुधारने तथा पारसी समाज की बुराइयां दूर करने के लिए भी अनेक क़दम उठाए थे. ज्ञात है कि, महारानी विक्टोरिया द्वारा सम्मानित होने वाले प्रथम भारतीय थे.
4. राजनीतिज्ञ पत्तम थानु पिल्लई:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1885 में पत्तम थानु पिल्लई का जन्म त्रिवेन्द्रम के एक ‘नायर’ परिवार में हुआ था. क़ानून की शिक्षा पूरी करने के बाद उन्होंने कुछ समय तक लिपिक और अध्यापक का काम किया। उसके बाद पत्तम थानु पिल्लई वकालत करने लगे साथ ही सार्वजनिक कार्यों में भी भाग लेना शुरू किया. पिल्लई ने त्रावणकोर कांग्रेस पार्टी की स्थापना की और लोकप्रिय सरकार की स्थापना की मांग के लिए आंदोलन का नेतृत्व किया. वर्ष 1928 में ही पिल्लई त्रावणकोर विधानसभा के लिए चुन लिये गये थे. वर्ष 1948 में वे त्रावणकोर के मुख्यमंत्री बने, पर उनका कुछ कांग्रेसियों से मतभेद हो गया और उन्होंने इस्तीफा दे दिया था.
5. आठवें मुख्य न्यायाधीश:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1902 में भारत के आठवें मुख्य न्यायाधीश कोका सुब्बा राव का जन्म राजामुंद्री, मद्रास (आज़ादी पूर्व) में हुआ था. उन्होंने आंध्र प्रदेश उच्च न्यायालय के मुख्य न्यायाधीश के रूप में भी कार्य किया था. कोका सुब्बा राव ने वर्ष 1967 में संयुक्त विपक्षी दलों के उम्मीदवार के रूप में भारत के राष्ट्रपति के लिए चुनाव लड़ा. वह डॉ. जाकिर हुसैन से चुनाव हार गए थे.
6. स्वतंत्रता सेनानी के कामराज:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1903 में स्वतंत्रता सेनानी के कामराज का जन्म तमिलनाडु के ‘विरुधुनगर’ में हुआ था. उनका मूल नाम ‘कामाक्षी कुमारस्वामी नादेर’ था, लेकिन बाद में वह के. कामराज के नाम से प्रसिद्ध हुए. बताते चलें कि, के. कामराज को भारतीय राजनीति में वे ‘किंग मेकर’ के रूप में जाने जाते थे. भारत के प्रथम प्रधानमंत्री जवाहरलाल नेहरू के वह अत्यधिक निकट रहे. आज़ादी के बाद 13 अप्रैल 1954 को कामराज ने अनिच्छापूर्वक तमिलनाडु का मुख्यमंत्री पद स्वीकार किया और प्रदेश को एक ऐसा नेता मिल गया जो उनके लिए कई क्रांतिकारी क़दम उठाने वाला था. कामराज लगातार तीन बार तमिलनाडु के मुख्यमंत्री रहे. उन्होंने प्रदेश की साक्षरता दर, जो कभी सात प्रतिशत हुआ करती थी, को बढ़ाकर 37 प्रतिशत तक पहुंचा दिया था. ज्ञात है कि, कामराज को दो पूर्व प्रधानमंत्रियों लाल बहादुर शास्त्री के साथ वर्ष 1964 तथा इंदिरा गांधी के साथ वर्ष 1966 में काम करने का अवसर मिला। के कामराज की पहचान ‘दक्षिण के गांधी’ के रूप में थी.
7. आंध्र प्रदेश की प्रथम महिला नेता दुर्गाबाई देशमुख:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1909 में आंध्र प्रदेश की प्रथम महिला नेता दुर्गाबाई देशमुख का जन्म राजामुंद्री में एक मध्यम स्तर के परिवार में हुआ था. उनके पिता का बाल्यकाल में ही देहांत हो गया था. उनकी माँ राजनीति में भाग लेती थीं और कांग्रेस कमेटी की सचिव भी थीं. दुर्गाबाई के बाल्यकाल के दिनों में बालिकाओं को विद्यालय नहीं भेजा जाता था परन्तु दुर्गाबाई में पढ़ने की लगन थी. उन्होंने अपने पड़ोसी एक अध्यापक से हिन्दी पढ़ना आरंभ कर किया. बताते चले कि, उन दिनों हिन्दी का प्रचार-प्रसार राष्ट्रीय आंदोलन का एक अंग था. दुर्गाबाई ने शीघ्र ही हिन्दी में इतनी योग्यता अर्जित कर ली कि वर्ष 1923 में उन्होंने बालिकाओं के लिए एक विद्यालय खोल लिया. गांधी जी ने इस प्रयत्न की सराहना करके दुर्गाबाई को स्वर्ण पदक से सम्मानित किया था. दुर्गाबाई सक्रिय रूप से स्वतंत्रता संग्राम में भाग लेने लगीं और माँ के साथ खद्दर बेचने लगी. नमक सत्याग्रह में उन्होंने प्रसिद्ध नेता टी. प्रकाशम के साथ भाग लिया। अंग्रेजों ने उन्हें गिरफ्तार कर लिया.
8. बम्बई विधानसभा के सदस्य गनपतराव देवजी तापसे:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1909 में महाराष्ट्र काँग्रेस कमेटी की कार्यकारिणी के सदस्य तथा बम्बई विधानसभा के सदस्य गनपतराव देवजी तापसे का जन्म हुआ था. वर्ष 1940 में उन्होंने सविनय अवज्ञा आन्दोलन में भाग लिया और जेल गये. उसके बाद पुन: भारत छोड़ो आन्दोलन के दौरान उन्हें पुनः जेल भेजा गया. वर्ष 1946 में वे सतारा ज़िले से बम्बई विधानसभा के सदस्य निर्वाचित हुए. वर्ष 1977 को वे उत्तर प्रदेश के राज्यपाल नियुक्त हुए.
9. शहीद हुए मोहम्मद उस्मान:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1912 में भारतीय सेना के उच्च अधिकारी, जो भारत और पाकिस्तान के प्रथम युद्ध (1947-48) में शहीद हुए मोहम्मद उस्मान का जन्म ब्रिटिश भारत में संयुक्त प्रांत के मऊ जिले में हुआ था. उस्मान अंसारी ने बचपन में ही सेना में शामिल होने के लिए अपना मन बना लिया था और भारतीयों के लिए कमीशन रैंक पाने के लिए सीमित अवसरों तथा कड़ी प्रतिस्पर्धा के बावजूद वह प्रतिष्ठित रॉयल मिलिटरी एकेडमी (आरएमएएस) में प्रवेश प्राप्त करने में सफल रहे.भारत के विभाजन के समय उन्होंने कई अन्य मुस्लिम अधिकारियों के साथ पाकिस्तान सेना में जाने से इनकार कर दिया और भारतीय सेना के साथ सेवा जारी रखी. जम्मू-कश्मीर में पाकिस्तानी सैनिकों से लड़ते हुए 3 जुलाई 1948 में वो शहीद हो गए थे. तदोपरांत उन्हें दुश्मन के सामने बहादुरी के लिए भारत के दूसरे सबसे बड़े सैन्य पदक महावीर चक्र से सम्मानित किया गया.
10. रंगमंच के सिद्धांतकार बादल सरकार:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1925 में रंगमंच के सिद्धांतकार बादल सरकार का जन्म हुआ था.
11. पहली मोटरबस सेवा:- बॉम्बे (अब मुम्बई) में आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1926 में पहली मोटरबस सेवा की शुरुआत हुई थी. मुंबई के लोगों को पहली बार बस दौड़ती देखी थी. यह बस सेवा मुंबई की ही पहली नहीं बल्कि पूरे देश की पहली बस सेवा थी. इसे को बृहनमुंबई इलेक्ट्रिसिटी सप्लाई एंड ट्रांसपोर्ट (BEST) ने शुरू किया था.
12. पत्रकार प्रभाष जोशी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1937 में हिंदी के जाने-माने पत्रकार प्रभाष जोशी का जन्म मध्य प्रदेश के शहर इंदौर के निकट स्थित बड़इंदौर से निकलने वाले हिन्दी दैनिक नई दुनिया से अपनी पत्रकारिता शुरू करने वाले प्रभाष जोशी, राजेन्द्र माथुर और शरद जोशी के समकक्ष थे. देशज संस्कारों और सामाजिक सरोकारों के प्रति समर्पित प्रभाष जोशी सर्वोदय और गांधीवादी विचारधारा में रचे बसे थे. वर्ष 1983 में एक्सप्रेस समूह के इस हिन्दी दैनिक की शुरुआत करने वाले प्रभाष जोशी ने हिन्दी पत्रकारिता को नई दशा और दिशा दी. उन्होंने सरोकारों के साथ ही शब्दों को भी आम जन की संवेदनाओं और सूचनाओं का संवाद बनाया. प्रभाष जी के लेखन में विविधता और भाषा में लालित्य का अद्भुत समागम रहा. उनकी कलम सत्ता को सलाम करने की जगह सरोकार बताती रही और जनाकांक्षाओं पर चोट करने वालों को निशाना बनाती रही। उन्होंने संपादकीय श्रेष्ठता पर प्रबंधकीय वर्चस्व कभी नहीं होने दिया था.
13. अभिनेत्री सुलभा आर्या:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1950 में अभिनेत्री सुलभा आर्या का जन्म मुंबई, महाराष्ट्र में हुआ था. सुलभा आर्य एक हिंदी और मराठी फिल्म, टेलीविजन और थिएटर अभिनेत्री हैं साथ ही इंडियन पीपुल्स थिएटर एसोसिएशन (इप्टा) की अध्यक्ष भी हैं. अभिनेत्री सुलभा के पति छायाकार स्व० ईशान आर्य है. बताते चलें कि, सुलभा आर्या महाराष्ट्रीयन हिंदू हैं. लेकिन सुलभा आर्या ने आर्य समाज में शबाना आज़मी के भाई मुस्लिम इशान आर्य (इरशाद अहसान) से शादी की थी. सुलभा की हालिया रिलीज फिल्म सर्कस है साथ ही टीवी सीरियल ससुराल गेंदा फूल में शान्ति मासी के रूप में जानी जाती है.
14. सर्वोच्च नागरिक सम्मान भारत रत्न देने की घोषणा की:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1955 में प्रथम राष्ट्रपति डॉ. राजेन्द्र प्रसाद ने देश के तत्कालीन प्रधानमंत्री जवाहरलाल नेहरु को सर्वोच्च नागरिक सम्मान भारत रत्न देने की घोषणा की थी. बताते चलें कि, वर्ष 1954 में स्थापित यह सम्मान किसी भी क्षेत्र में उत्कृष्ठ योगदान के लिए प्रदान किया जाता है.
15. भौतिक विज्ञानी अशोक सेन:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1956 में भौतिक विज्ञानी अशोक सेन का जन्म कोलकाता, पश्चिम बंगाल में हुआ था. उनके पिता का नाम अनिल कुमार सेन और माता का नाम गौरी सेन है. अनिल कुमार सेन स्कॉटिश चर्च कॉलेज में भौतिकी के प्राध्यापक रहे थे. सेन ने वर्ष 1975 में कलकत्ता विश्वविद्यालय के तहत प्रेसीडेंसी कॉलेज से विज्ञान की स्नातक डिग्री प्राप्त की और तीन साल बाद इंडियन इंस्टिट्यूट ऑफ टैक्नोलॉजी कानपुर (आईआईटी कानपुर) से मास्टर डिग्री ली. प्रो. अशोक सेन ने स्टोनी ब्रूक विश्वविद्यालय से भौतिक विज्ञान विषय से अपनी डॉक्टरेट की. वर्ष 2012 को प्रो. अशोक सेन को पहले यूरी मिलनर फंडामेंटल फिजिक्स प्राइज़ (मौलिक भौतिकी पुरस्कार) से सम्मानित किया गया. बताते चलें कि, दुनिया में शिक्षा के इस सबसे बड़े पुरस्कार की स्थापना रूसी अरबपति यूरी मिलनर ने की है.
16. गायक बाल गन्धर्व:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1967 में मराठी रंगमंच के नायक और गायक बाल गन्धर्व का निधन हुआ था.
17. उद्यमी विजय शेखर शर्मा:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1978 में उद्यमी विजय शेखर शर्मा का जन्म हुआ था. विजय शेखर शर्मा ने ही पेटीऍम को बाज़ार में उतारा था.
18. पद से इस्तीफा दिया:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1979 में भारत के प्रधानमंत्री मोरारजी देसाई ने अपने पद से इस्तीफा दिया था.
19. आतंकवाद प्रभावित क्षेत्र:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1984 में पंजाब में सिख समुदाय के अशांत होने के बाद पंजाब को आतंकवाद प्रभावित क्षेत्र घोषित किया गया था.
20. विश्व रिकॉर्ड बनाया:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1986 में महिला क्रिकेटर संध्या अग्रवाल ने टेस्ट क्रिकेट में 190 रन बनाकर विश्व रिकॉर्ड बनाया था.
21. पार्श्व गायिका रुपाली जग्गा:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1995 में सहारनपुर, उत्तर प्रदेश में हुआ था. उनके पिता का नाम सुधीर जग्गा और माता का नाम अंजू जग्गा है. रुपाली की पढ़ाई उत्तर प्रदेश से हुई थी. रुपाली ने चार साल के उम्र में ही संगीत सीखना प्रारंभ कर दिया था. जब वह पाँच साल की हुई तो उन्होंने एक भजन गाया और छः साल के उम्र होते ही उन्होंने अपना पूरा मन संगीत सीखने पर ही लगा दिया। बताते चलें कि, रुपाली जग्गा कई सालों से अपने गुरु माँ निधि नारंग से आगरा घराने से शास्त्रीय संगीत सीख रही हैं. रुपाली को भारत की शकीरा और आर जे नाम से भी इनके प्रशसकों द्वारा जाना जाता है। रुपाली ने अपने करियर की शुरुआत में कई सारे रियलिटी सिंगिंग शो में पार्टिसिपेट किया और एक कामयाब सिंगर के रूप में अपना नाम स्थापित किया। हिंदी फिल्मों के अलावा रुपाली कई साउथ फिल्मों के गीत को भी अपनी आवाज दी हैं. गीत गानें के अलावा उन्हें गीत लिखने का भी शौक है.
22. सैनिक बंधक मुक्त कराए गए:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2000 में सिएरा लियोन में सैन्य कार्यवाही द्वारा सभी भारतीय सैनिक बंधक मुक्त कराए गए.
23. परिवार नियोजन विशेषज्ञ बानो जहाँगीर कोयाजी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2004 में भारतीय चिकित्सा वैज्ञानिक तथा परिवार नियोजन विशेषज्ञ बानो जहाँगीर कोयाजी का निधन हुआ था.
24. भारत सरकार द्वारा सार्वजनिक किया गया:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2010 में भारतीय रुपया चिह्न (₹) भारत सरकार द्वारा सार्वजनिक किया गया था.
25. अंतरिक्ष कक्षा में सफलतापूर्वक स्थापित किया:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2011 में एक ध्रुवीय उपग्रह प्रक्षेपण यान पीएसएलवी द्वारा आधुनिक संचार उपग्रह जीसैट-12 को अंतरिक्ष कक्षा में सफलतापूर्वक स्थापित किया था.
26. गोबी रेगिस्तान में चलने वाली पहली भारतीय महिला:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2011 में एशिया के सबसे बड़े रेगिस्तान मंगोलिया में 1,600 किमी की दूरी पर गोबी रेगिस्तान में चलने वाली पहली भारतीय महिला सुचेता कदेथांकर बनीं थी.
27. घर देने की घोषणा:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2011 में टाटा समूह ने नैनो के बाद 32 हज़ार रुपए में घर देने की घोषणा की थी.

1. Senapati Jai Singh: – On this day in the year 1611, Jai Singh, the king of Amer and the senior commander of the Mughal Empire, was born. Jai Singh was the twenty-sixth ruler of the Kachwaha dynasty of Amer state. Who held the throne of Amer state for 46 years.
2. Indian Rebellion: – On this day in the year 1857, the second massacre took place in Kanpur. Let us tell that the English government, enraged by the massacre at Satichaura Ghat, gradually started surrounding Kanpur from all sides. Meanwhile, late in the evening all the women and children living in Bibi Ghar were killed (English women and their children were sent to live in Bibi Ghar in Nanarao Park) and on the morning of 16th July, the dead bodies were thrown into the well. The Bibighar incident had shaken the British to the core.
3. Jamshed ji Jijabhai:- On this day in the year 1883, Jamshed ji Jijabhai was born in a poor family in Mumbai. Due to financial constraints, he could not get an education. At the young age of 12, he started the business of selling old bottles with his maternal uncle. Due to the death of the parents in the year 1899, the entire burden of the family fell on Jijabhai. Jamshed ji had great business intelligence. By practice, Jamshedji Jijabhai had learned to keep simple accounts and improvised English. He expanded his business outside India. Started buying and selling goods with China in hired ships. He was about 20 years old when he made his first trip to China. Altogether he went to China five times. Once the Portuguese looted his ship and left him near the Cape of Good Hope. Somehow, after coming to Mumbai, he took care of himself again and after buying his own ship in the year 1914, he kept moving towards increasing the fleet and progressing continuously. Jijabhai, who stayed away from communal discrimination, had also taken many steps to improve the condition of women and remove the evils of Parsi society. It is known that he was the first Indian to be honored by Queen Victoria.
4. Politician Pattam Thanu Pillai:- On this day in the year 1885, Pattam Thanu Pillai was born in a ‘Nair’ family of Trivandrum. After completing his law education, he worked as a clerk and teacher for some time. After that Pattam Thanu Pillai started advocating and also started participating in public works. Pillai founded the Travancore Congress Party and led the movement demanding the establishment of a popular government. In the year 1928, Pillai was elected to the Travancore Legislative Assembly. In the year 1948, he became the Chief Minister of Travancore, but he had differences with some Congressmen and resigned.
5. Eighth Chief Justice: – On this day in the year 1902, Koka Subba Rao, the eighth Chief Justice of India, was born in Rajahmundry, Madras (pre-independence). He also served as the Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court. Koka Subba Rao contested for the President of India in the year 1967 as the candidate of the combined opposition parties. He lost the election to Dr. Zakir Hussain.
6. Kamaraj of freedom fighter:- On this day in the year 1903, Kamaraj of freedom fighter was born in ‘Virudhunagar’ of Tamil Nadu. His original name was ‘Kamakshi Kumaraswamy Nader’, but later he became K.K. Became famous by the name of Kamaraj. Let us say that K. Kamaraj was known as the ‘King Maker’ in Indian politics. He remained very close to Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India. After independence, on 13 April 1954, Kamaraj reluctantly accepted the post of Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and the state got a leader who was going to take many revolutionary steps for him. Kamaraj was the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for three consecutive terms. He had increased the literacy rate of the state, which used to be seven percent, to 37 percent. It is known that Kamaraj had the opportunity to work with two former Prime Ministers, Lal Bahadur Shastri in the year 1964 and Indira Gandhi in the year 1966. K Kamaraj was identified as the ‘Gandhi of the South’.
7. Durgabai Deshmukh, the first woman leader of Andhra Pradesh:- On this day in the year 1909, Durgabai Deshmukh, the first woman leader of Andhra Pradesh was born in a middle-level family in Rajahmundry. His father had died in his childhood. His mother used to participate in politics and was also the secretary of the Congress Committee. During Durgabai’s childhood, girls were not sent to school, but Durgabai had a penchant for studies. He started studying Hindi from a teacher of his neighbor. It goes on to say that in those days the promotion of Hindi was a part of the national movement. Durgabai soon acquired such proficiency in Hindi that in the year 1923, she opened a school for girls. Appreciating this effort, Gandhiji honored Durgabai with a gold medal. Durgabai started actively participating in the freedom struggle and started selling Khaddar with her mother. He participated in the Salt Satyagraha along with the famous leader T. Prakasam. The British arrested him.
8. Member of Bombay Legislative Assembly Ganpatrao Devji Tapse:- On this day in the year 1909, Ganpatrao Devji Tapse, a member of the executive committee of the Maharashtra Congress Committee and a member of the Bombay Legislative Assembly, was born. In the year 1940, he participated in the Civil Disobedience Movement and went to jail. After that, he was again sent to jail during the Quit India movement. In the year 1946, he was elected a member of the Bombay Legislative Assembly from Satara district. In the year 1977, he was appointed the Governor of Uttar Pradesh.
9. Martyred Mohammad Usman:- On this day in the year 1912, the high officer of the Indian Army, who was martyred in the first war between India and Pakistan (1947-48), Mohammad Usman was born in the Mau district of the United Provinces in British India. Was. Usman Ansari had his mind set on joining the army as a child and managed to gain admission to the prestigious Royal Military Academy (RMAS) despite stiff competition and limited opportunities for Indians to attain commissioned rank. India At the time of partition, he along with many other Muslim officers refused to join the Pakistan Army and continued to serve with the Indian Army.
