Each year, a specific theme is set for this day, drawing attention to the problems faced by people who stutter and their solutions. Through these themes, various aspects related to stuttering are discussed and awareness is raised. The theme for the year 2026 is “Different Facets of Stuttering – What’s yours?” This theme emphasizes that the experience of stuttering is different for every individual, whether mild, severe, overt, or indirect. Its aim is to raise awareness about this condition.

International Stuttering Awareness Day aims to inspire people who stutter to live their lives with greater confidence and respect in society. This day also provides an opportunity to make society aware that stuttering is not a measure of a person’s ability and that people need to be sensitive and aware about it.
