आज ईसाई धर्म के अनुययियों का बलिदान दिवस है जिसे हमसभी “ गुड फ्राइडे ” के नाम से जानते हैं . बताते चलें की, “ गुड फ्राइडे को ग्रेट फ्राइडे, होली डे और ब्लैक डे” के नाम से भी जाना जाता है. “गुड फ्राइडे” को संधि करने पर गुड और फ्राइडे. जिसमे गुड का अर्थ होता है “ अच्छा ” और फ्राइडे का अर्थ होता है “ शुक्रवार ”. लेकिन, यहाँ गुड सिर्फ कहने के लिए है बल्कि हकीकत में अत्यंत ही पीड़ादायक, दर्दनाक और दुखदायी है. यह वो दिन है जब दुनिया में मानवता का संदेश देने वाले, सहनशीलता का पाठ पढाने वाला और क्षमा करने वाला व्यक्ति जिसे ईसाई धर्म के अनुयायी ‘ईश्वर का बेटा’ मानते और जानते हैं और उनका नाम “ईसा मसीह” है. ईसा मसीह जिन्होंने मानव जाती को मानवता और प्रेम का संदेश दिया जिसके बदले में उस वक्त के धार्मिक कट्टरपंथियों ने रोम के शासक से शिकायत कर उन्हें सूली पर टंगवाया. अपने अंत समय में ईसा मसीह ने ईश्वर से बस यही प्रार्थना कि, हे प्रभु इन्हें माफ़ कर दो, ये नहीं जानते हैं कि ये क्या कर रहे हैं.
बताते चलें कि, 2000 वर्ष पहले यरुशलम के गैलिली प्रांत में ईसा लोगों को मानवता,एकता और अहिंसा का उपदेश दे रहे थे. उनके उपदेशों से प्रभावित होकर वहां के लोगों ने उन्हें ईश्वर मानना शुरू कर दिया लेकिन, वहां के धार्मिक अंधविश्वास फैलाने वाले धर्मगुरुओं कि घटती लोकप्रियता के कारण चिढने लगे और उनलोगों ने ईसा की शिकायत रोम के शासक ‘पिलातुस’ से कर दी. उन्होंने पिलातुस को बताया कि खुद को ईश्वरपुत्र बताने वाला यह युवक पापी होने के साथ-साथ ईश्वर राज की बातें भी करता है. शिकायत मिलने के बाद ईसा पर धर्म की अवमानना के साथ राजद्रोह का आरोप लगाया और ‘ईसा’ को क्रूज पर मत्यु दंड देने का फरमान जारी कर दिया. इसके बाद उन पर कोड़ें और चाबुक बरसाए गए और कांटों का ताज पहनाने के बाद कीलों से ठोकते हुए सूली पर लटका दिया गया.
गुड फ्राइडे के 40 दिन पहले से ही ईसाइयों के घरों में प्रार्थना और उपवास का दौर शुरू हो जाता है. इस दौरान शाकाहारी खाना खाया जाता है. गुड फ्राइडे के दिन लोग चर्च जाते है और ‘प्रभु ईशु’ को याद कर शोक मनाते हैं. बताते चलें कि, मौत के तीन दिनों बाद ईसा मसीह के जीवित होने की ख़ुशी में लोग ईस्टर संडे मनाते है और एक-दुसरे को तोहफा देते हैं और खुशी भी मनाते हैं.
