क्या ‘हम भारत के लोग’ अपने संविधान के महान आदर्शों पर कायम हैं? क्या हमारा देश अपने महान संविधान की लोकतांत्रिक भावनाओं के अनुरूप चल पा रहा है? क्या ‘हम भारत के लोग’ अपने संविधान के महान आदर्शों पर कायम हैं? क्या देश के प्रत्येक नागरिक को समान रूप से सामाजिक और नैसर्गिक न्याय मिल पा रहा है? क्या अमीरी और गऱीबी की भयानक गहरी खाई मिट चुकी है. इन सवालों पर आज 14 अप्रैल को चिन्ता ,चिन्तन और मनन का एक विशेष दिन है, क्योंकि आज हमारे संविधान निर्माण के लिए गठित प्रारूप समिति के अध्यक्ष बाबा साहब डॉ. भीमराव अम्बेडकर की जयंती है. यह उनके अनमोल विचारों को याद करने का दिन है. विद्वान विधिवेत्ता बाबा साहब डॉ. भीमराव अम्बेडकर की अध्यक्षता में प्रारूप समिति ने गहन विचार मंथन के बाद संविधान के प्रारूप को अंतिम रूप दिया. डॉ. अम्बेडकर ज़मीन से और आम जनता से जुड़े हुए नेता थे, जिनकी संघर्षपूर्ण जीवन गाथा देश की वर्तमान और भावी पीढ़ियों के लिए भी प्रेरणादायक है.
देश पन्द्रह अगस्त 1947 को आज़ाद हुआ. डॉ. अम्बेडकर की अध्यक्षता में संविधान प्रारूप समिति का गठन 29 अगस्त 1947 को किया था. गहन चिंतन मनन के बाद बनाया गया यह विशाल प्रारूप डॉ. अम्बेडकर ने 24 नवम्बर 1949 को डॉ. राजेंद्र प्रसाद को सौंपा, जो संविधान सभा के अध्यक्ष और देश के प्रथम राष्ट्रपति थे. संविधान सभा ने 26 नवम्बर 1949 को संविधान के प्रारूप को अंगीकृत किया,जो 26 जनवरी 1950 से पूरे देश मे लागू हुआ. यही वह ऐतिहासिक दिन है, जिसे हम गणतंत्र दिवस के रूप में मनाते हैं. हमारी संविधान सभा में कुल 299 सदस्य थे। इनमें 229 निर्वाचित और 70 मनोनीत सदस्य थे. संविधान सभा में छत्तीसगढ़ से गुरु अगमदास, बैरिस्टर ठाकुर छेदीलाल, पंडित रविशंकर शुक्ल, किशोरी मोहन त्रिपाठी, घनश्याम सिंह गुप्त, गनपतराव दानी और रामप्रसाद पोटाई भी सदस्य के रूप में शामिल थे.
हमारे महान पूर्वजों ने अपनी चिन्तन शक्ति और श्रम शक्ति लगाकर जिस संविधान का निर्माण किया, उसे सुरक्षित रखना हम सबकी ज़िम्मेदारी है. संविधान ने ही हमें लोकतंत्र जैसी महान धर्मनिरपेक्ष शासन व्यवस्था दी है, जिसे कुछ साम्प्रदयिक शक्तियां आज मटियामेट करने पर आमादा नज़र आ रही हैं. दंगे फ़साद और बुलडोजर हमारे संविधान को रौंदने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं. डॉ. अम्बेडकर ने, प्रारूप समिति और संविधान सभा के सदस्यों ने कभी सपने में भी नहीं सोचा होगा कि भारतीय संविधान को ये दिन भी देखना पड़ जाएगा. उनकी आत्माएं ईश्वर से प्रार्थना कर रही होंगी हे भगवान! भारत के महान संविधान को दंगाइयों से बचाना. संविधान प्रदत्त नागरिक आज़ादी और मानवीय गरिमा को नीचे जाने से बचाना. देश में सर्व धर्म समभाव के वातावरण को बचाए रखना.

Are you standing on the great ideals of the Constitution?
Are ‘we the people’ of India upholding the noble ideals of our constitution? Is our country able to run according to the democratic spirit of its great constitution? Are ‘we the people’ of India upholding the noble ideals of our constitution? Is every citizen of the country getting social and natural justice equally? Has the terrible deep gulf between rich and poor been erased? Today, 14th April, is a special day of concern, contemplation, and meditation on these questions, because today is the birth anniversary of Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the chairman of the drafting committee formed for the making of our constitution. This is the day to remember his priceless thoughts. The drafting committee under the chairmanship of learned jurist Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar finalized the draft of the constitution after deep brainstorming. Dr. Ambedkar was a leader connected to the land and the common people, whose life story of struggle is inspiring for the present and future generations of the country.
The country became independent on 15 August 1947. The constitution drafting committee was constituted on 29 August 1947 under the chairmanship of Dr. Ambedkar. Dr. Ambedkar handed over this huge draft made after deep contemplation to Dr. Rajendra Prasad on 24 November 1949, who were the President of the Constituent Assembly and the first President of the country. The Constituent Assembly adopted the draft of the Constitution on 26 November 1949, which came into force in the entire country on 26 January 1950. This is the historical day, which we celebrate as Republic Day. There were a total of 299 members in our Constituent Assembly. Of these, 229 were elected and 70 were nominated members. Guru Agamdas, Barrister Thakur Chhedilal, Pandit Ravi Shankar Shukla, Kishori Mohan Tripathi, Ghanshyam Singh Gupta, Ganpatrao Dani, and Ramprasad Potai were also included as members from Chhattisgarh.
It is the responsibility of all of us to protect the Constitution which was created by our great forefathers by putting their thinking power and labor power. The constitution itself has given us a great secular governance system like democracy, which some communal forces seem determined to destroy today. Riots and bulldozers are trying to trample our constitution. Dr. Ambedkar, the members of the Drafting Committee, and the Constituent Assembly would never have thought even in their dreams that the Indian Constitution would have to see this day as well. Their souls must be praying to God Oh God! To save the great constitution of India from the rioters. To protect the constitutionally provided civil liberties and human dignity from going down. To preserve the atmosphere of equality of all religions in the country.
