- फ़िल्म निर्देशक यश चोपड़ा: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1932 में फ़िल्म निर्देशक यश चोपड़ा का जन्म लाहौर (पकिस्तान) में हुआ था. स्वतंत्रता के बाद यश चोपड़ा भारत आ गए थे. उनके बड़े भाई बी. आर. चोपड़ा बॉलीवुड के जाने-माने निर्माता निर्देशक थे और बड़े भाई की प्रेरणा पर ही उन्होंने भी फ़िल्मों में हाथ आजमाया और आज बॉलीवुड के प्रतिष्ठित बैनरों में से एक है. यश चोपड़ा ने अपने निर्देशन कैरियर की शुरुआत वर्ष 1959 में अपने भाई के बैनर तले ही बनी फ़िल्म ‘धूल का फूल’ का निर्देशन किया था. वर्ष 1965 में आई फ़िल्म ‘वक्त’ यश चोपड़ा की पहली हिट फ़िल्म साबित हुई थी.
- धार्मिक नेता माता अमृतानंदमयी: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1953 में धार्मिक नेता माता अमृतानंदमयी का जन्म पर्यकडवु (जो अब कभी कभी अमृतापुरी के नाम से भी जाना जाता है) के छोटे से गांव अलप्पढ़ पंचायत, जिला कोलम, केरल में हुआ था. इनके जन्म के समय का नाम जन्म सुधामणि इदमन्नेल है.

- अभिनेत्री सुधा चंद्रन: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1965 में अभिनेत्री सुधा चंद्रन का जन्म केरल में हुआ था. उनके पिता का नाम के डी चंद्रन और माता का नाम थंगम था. बचपन से ही सुधा को नृत्य में विशेष रूचि थी. नृत्य के प्रति अत्यधिक झुकाव के कारण ही उनके माता-पिता 5 वर्ष की आयु में ही नृत्य अकादमी मुंबई में दाखिला करवा दिया था. करीब 16 वर्ष की उम्र होते होते वह 75 से ज्यादा स्टेज शो पर फॉर्म दे चुकी थी. सुधा ने भारतनाट्यम में अलग पहचान दिलाई जिसके कारण उन्हें कई पुरस्कारों से सम्मानित भी किया गया था. तिरूचिरापल्ली से मद्रास जाते समय उनकी बस दुर्घटनाग्रस्त हो गई जिसके कारण सुधा के बाएँ पाँव की एड़ी टूट गई, और दायाँ पाँव बुरी तरह जख्मी हो गया. प्लास्टर लगने पर बायाँ पाँव तो ठीक हो गया लेकिन, दायाँ पाँव को काटना पड़ा. सुधा ने पैर खोने के बाद भी उन्होंने नृत्य के प्रति अपना जुनून जारी रखा और वर्ष 1983 में दो साल बाद एक बार फिर नृत्य में वापसी की और कई देशों में प्रदर्शन भी किया. सुधा के जीवन पर आधारित फिल्म मयूरी से उन्होंने फिल्मी कैरियर की शुरुआत की.
