1. उपदेशक चैतन्य देव:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1534 में धार्मिक उपदेशक चैतन्य देव का निधन हुआ था.
2. भारत का वाइसराय तथा गवर्नर-जनरल रहे लॉर्ड मिण्टो:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1845 में भारत का वाइसराय तथा गवर्नर-जनरल रहे लॉर्ड मिण्टो का जन्म को लन्दन, इंग्लैण्ड में हुआ था. इनका पूरा नाम ‘गिलबर्ट जॉन एलिएट मिण्टो’ था.
3. स्टॉक एक्सचेंज:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1875 में बंबई स्टॉक एक्सचेंज की स्थापना आज से 148 साल पहले हुई थी. महज 5 लोगों के समूह ने मिलकर इसकी स्थापना की. वर्तमान बाजार पूंजीकरण के मामले में बॉम्बे स्टॉक एक्सचेंज दुनिया का 11वां सबसे बड़ा स्टॉक एक्सचेंज बन गया है.
4. भूतपूर्व राज्यपाल सत्य नारायण सिन्हा:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1900 में राष्ट्रीय कांग्रेस’ के राजनेता, संसदीय मामलों के मंत्री तथा मध्य प्रदेश के भूतपूर्व राज्यपाल सत्य नारायण सिन्हा का जन्म बिहार के दरभंगा ज़िले में ‘शम्भूपट्टी’ नामक स्थान पर हुआ था. इनकी प्रारम्भिक शिक्षा मुजफ्फरपुर के स्कूल से प्राप्त की थी। बाद में ‘पटना विश्वविद्यालय’ से एल.एल.बी. की डिग्री प्राप्त की. वर्ष 1920 में सत्य नारायण सिन्हा स्वतंत्रता आंदोलन में सम्मिलित हुए. सत्य नारायण सिन्हा को वर्ष 1926-1930 तक इन्हें बिहार विधान परिषद का सदस्य बनाया गया. सत्य नारायण सिन्हा वर्ष 1952-1957 तक प्रथम लोकसभा, वर्ष 1957-1962 तक द्वितीय लोकसभा, वर्ष 1962-1967 तक तृतीय लोकसभा और फिर उसके बाद चौथी लोकसभा के भी सदस्य रहे. सत्य नारायण सिन्हा 9 मार्च, 1971 से 12 अक्टूबर, 1977 तक मध्य प्रदेश के राज्यपाल भी रहे.
5. लोकसभा के सदस्य मानक भाई अग्रवाल:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1923 में दूसरी लोकसभा के सदस्य मानकभाई अग्रवाल का जन्म हुआ था.
6. निर्देशक गुरु दत्त:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1925 में अभिनेता गुरु दत्त का जन्म बैंगलोर में हुआ था. उनके पिता का नाम पिता का नाम ‘शिवशंकर राव पादुकोण और  माता  का नाम वसंती पादुकोण था. ‘गुरु दत्त’ का वास्तविक नाम “वसंत कुमार शिवशंकर पादुकोण” था. गुरु दत्त की प्रारम्भिक शिक्षा कोलकत्ता में हुई थी. शिक्षा प्राप्त करने के बाद गुरु दत्त ने अल्मोड़ा स्थित उदय शंकर की नृत्य अकादमी में प्रशिक्षण प्राप्त किया और उसके बाद कलकत्ता में टेलीफोन ऑपरेटर का काम करने लगे. कुछ समय बाद गुरु दत्त  पुणे आकर  प्रभात स्टूडियो से जुड़ गए, जहाँ उन्होंने पहले अभिनेता और फिर नृत्य-निर्देशक के रूप में काम किया. गुरुदत्त ने अपने फ़िल्मी कैरियर की शुरुआत फ़ीचर फ़िल्म ‘बाज़ी’ से की थी.  गुरु दत्त की प्रसिद्धि का स्रोत बारीकी से गढ़ी गई, उदास व चिंतन भरी उनकी तीन बेहतरीन फ़िल्में हैं- ‘प्यासा’ (1957), ‘काग़ज़ के फूल’ (1959) और ‘साहब, बीबी और ग़ुलाम’ (1962). गुरु दत्त ने अपने फिल्मी कैरियर में कई नए तकनीकी प्रयोग भी किए जैसे, फ़िल्म बाज़ी में दो नए प्रयोग किए थे.
7. फ़िल्म निर्माता निर्देशक और पटकथा लेखक के. बालाचंदर:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1930 में के. बालाचंदर का जन्म तमिलनाडु के तंजावुर में हुआ था. उन्होंने ‘अन्नामलाई विश्वविद्यालय’ से बी.एस.सी. किया. बालाचंदर ने वर्ष 1965 में फ़िल्म उद्योग में आए और नागेश अभिनीत अपनी पहली ही फ़िल्म ‘नीरकुमिझीझ’ से ख्याति अर्जित कर ली. उन्होंने कई फ़िल्मों का निर्माण और निर्देशन किया, जिन्होंने कई राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार और राज्य सरकारों तथा अन्य संगठनों के पुरस्कार जीते.
8. अभिनेता संजीव कुमार:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1938 में अभिनेता संजीव कुमार का जन्म मुंबई में एक मध्यम वर्गीय गुजराती परिवार में हुआ था. वह बचपन से ही फ़िल्मों में बतौर अभिनेता काम करने का सपना देखा करते थे. इसी सपने को पूरा करने के लिए वह अपने जीवन के शुरुआती दौर में रंगमंच से जुड़े और बाद में उन्होंने फ़िल्मालय के एक्टिंग स्कूल में दाख़िला लिया. इसी दौरान वर्ष 1960 में उन्हें फ़िल्मालय बैनर की फ़िल्म ‘हम हिन्दुस्तानी’ में एक छोटी सी भूमिका निभाने का मौक़ा मिला. वर्ष 1962 में राजश्री प्रोडक्शन की निर्मित फ़िल्म ‘आरती’ के लिए उन्होंने स्क्रीन टेस्ट दिया, जिसमें वह पास नहीं हो सके. संजीव ने अपने फ़िल्मी कैरियर की शुरुआत वर्ष 1965 में प्रदर्शित फ़िल्म ‘निशान’ से किया. वर्ष 1970 में ही संजीव की प्रदर्शित फ़िल्म ‘दस्तक’ में लाजवाब अभिनय के लिए वह सर्वश्रेष्ठ अभिनेता के ‘राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार’ से सम्मानित किया गया था. वर्ष 1972 में प्रदर्शित फ़िल्म ‘कोशिश’ में उनके अभिनय का नया आयाम दर्शकों को देखने को मिला. अभिनय में एकरूपता से बचने और स्वंय को चरित्र अभिनेता के रूप में भी स्थापित करने के लिए संजीव कुमार ने अपने को विभिन्न भूमिकाओं में पेश किया. भारतीय सिनेमा जगत में संजीव कुमार को एक ऐसे बहुआयामी कलाकार के तौर पर जाना जाता है जिन्होंने नायक, सहनायक, खलनायक और चरित्र कलाकार भूमिकाओं से दर्शकों को अपना दीवाना बनाया था.
9. नेतृत्व स्वीकार किया:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1944 में नेताजी सुभाष चंद्र बोस ने भारत को ब्रिटिश शासन से स्वतंत्र कराने के लिए आजाद हिंद फ़ौज का नेतृत्व स्वीकार किया था.
10. पहली पंचवर्षीय योजना पेश की:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1951 में जवाहरलाल नेहरू ने संसद में भारत की पहली पंचवर्षीय योजना पेश की थी.
11. अभिनेत्री संगीता बिजलानी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1960 में अभिनेत्री संगीता बिजलानी का जन्म मुंबई के एक सिंधी परिवार में हुआ था. संगीता ने 16 साल की उम्र से ही मॉडलिंग करना शुरू कर दिया था. वर्ष 1980 में मिस इंडिया का खिताब जीता. संगीता ने अपने फ़िल्मी कैरियर की शुरुआत फिल्म ‘कातिल’ से की थी. संगीता अपनी फिल्मों और खूबसूरती को लेकर तो चर्चा में रहती ही थीं, इसके अलावा उनके सलमान खान के साथ रिश्ते ने भी खूब सुर्खियां बटोरी थीं. सलमान से रिश्ता टूटने के बाद संगीता बिजलानी ने 1996 में क्रिकेटर मो.अजहरुद्दीन से शादी की. हालांकि दोनों का रिश्ता 14 साल बाद टूट गया.
12. राजनीतिज्ञ सुखबीर सिंह बादल:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1962 में शिरोमणि अकाली दल के अध्यक्ष सुखबीर सिंह बादल का जन्म पंजाब के छोटे से गांव अबुल खुराना के जाट सिख परिवार में हुआ था. वर्ष 1947 में प्रकाश सिंह बादल ने राजनीति के क्षेत्र में प्रदार्पण किया था। लेकिन उन्होंने अपना पहला विधानसभा चुनाव वर्ष 1957 में जीता था. मोरारजी देसाई के शासन काल में वह सांसद बने। उन्हें केन्द्रीय मंत्री के तौर पर कृषि और सिंचाई मंत्रालय का उत्तरदायित्व सौंपा गया था. प्रकाश सिंह बादल पंजाब के सिख धर्म पर आधारित राजनैतिक दल शिरोमणि अकाली दल के अध्यक्ष भी थे.
13. राष्ट्रीय पशु घोषित:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1969 में बाघ को भारत का राष्ट्रीय पशु घोषित किया गया था. बताते चलें कि, बाघ को बतौर भारत का राष्ट्रीय पशु चुनने का मुख्य कारण इसकी चपलता, लालित्य, ताकत और शक्ति के आधार पर था.
14. शायर शेरी भोपाली:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1991 में शायर शेरी भोपाली का निधन हुआ था.
15. दो चौकियां स्थापित करने की घोषणा:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2001 में भारत द्वारा पाक सीमा पर दो चौकियां स्थापित करने की घोषणा की गई थी.
16. ओट्टो स्कॉट रिसर्च पुरस्कार:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2007 में भारतीय मूल के अमेरिकी वैज्ञानिक हिमांशु जैन को ग्लास साइंस के क्षेत्र में ध्यातत्व कार्य हेतु ओट्टो स्कॉट रिसर्च पुरस्कार प्रदान किया गया था.
17. शायर एवं लेखक सरदार अंजुम:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2015 में शायर एवं लेखक सरदार अंजुम का निधन हुआ था.

Satya Narayan Sinha was a member of the first Lok Sabha from the year 1952-1957, the second Lok Sabha from the year 1957-1962, the third Lok Sabha from the year 1962-1967, and then the fourth Lok Sabha after that. Satya Narayan Sinha was also the Governor of Madhya Pradesh from March 9, 1971, to October 12, 1977.

6. Director Guru Dutt: – On this day in the year 1925, actor Guru Dutt was born in Bangalore. His father’s name was ‘Shri Shivshankar Rao Padukone’ and his mother’s name was Vasanti Padukone. The real name of ‘Guru Dutt’ was “Vasant Kumar Shivshankar Padukone”. Guru Dutt’s early education took place in Kolkata. After receiving education, Guru Dutt received training at Uday Shankar’s dance academy in Almora and then started working as a telephone operator in Calcutta. After some time, Guru Dutt came to Pune and joined Prabhat Studio, where he worked first as an actor and then as a choreographer. Guru Dutt started his film career with the feature film ‘Baazi’.
