- इलाहाबाद उच्च न्यायालय:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1866 में इलाहाबाद उच्च न्यायालय की स्थापना हुई. इसे पहले आगरा उच्च न्यायालय के नाम से जाना जाता था.
- राम प्रसाद बिस्मिल:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1897 में स्वतन्त्रता सेनानी राम प्रसाद बिस्मिल का जन्म उत्तर प्रदेश के शाहजहाँपुर शहर के खिरनीबाग मुहल्ले में हुआ था. उनके पिता मुरलीधर और माता मूलमती की दूसरी सन्तान थे.बाल्यकाल से ही रामप्रसाद की शिक्षा पर विशेष ध्यान दिया जाने लगा. उसका मन खेलने में अधिक किन्तु पढ़ने में कम लगता था.उसके पिता ने पहले हिन्दी का अक्षर-बोध कराया किन्तु उ से उल्लू न तो उन्होंने पढ़ना सीखा और न ही लिखकर दिखाया. हार कर उसे उर्दू के स्कूल में भर्ती करा दिया गया. शायद यही प्राकृतिक गुण रामप्रसाद को एक क्रान्तिकारी बना पाये. लगभग 14 वर्ष की आयु में रामप्रसाद को अपने पिता की सन्दूकची से रुपये चुराने की लत पड़ गयी. चुराये गये रुपयों से उन्होंने उपन्यास आदि खरीदकर पढ़ना प्रारम्भ कर दिया एवं सिगरेट पीने व भाँग चढ़ाने की आदत भी पड़ गयी थी. कुल मिलाकर रुपये – चोरी का सिलसिला चलता रहा और रामप्रसाद अब उर्दू के प्रेमरस से परिपूर्ण उपन्यासों व गजलों की पुस्तकें पढ़ने का आदी हो गया था.रामप्रसाद ने उर्दू मिडिल की परीक्षा में उत्तीर्ण न होने पर अंग्रेजी पढ़ना प्रारम्भ किया. साथ ही पड़ोस के एक पुजारी ने रामप्रसाद को पूजा-पाठ की विधि का ज्ञान करवा दिया. पुजारी एक सुलझे हुए विद्वान व्यक्ति थे. उनके व्यक्तित्व का प्रभाव रामप्रसाद के जीवन पर भी पड़ा. इसी दौरान वह मन्दिर में आने वाले मुंशी इन्द्रजीत से उसका सम्पर्क हुआ. मुंशी इन्द्रजीत ने रामप्रसाद को आर्य समाज के सम्बन्ध में बताया और स्वामी दयानन्द सरस्वती की लिखी पुस्तक सत्यार्थ प्रकाश पढ़ने को दी.’बिस्मिल’ की एक विशेषता यह भी थी कि वे किसी भी स्थान पर अधिक दिनों तक ठहरते नहीं थे.सरकारी ऐलान के बाद राम प्रसाद बिस्मिल ने अपने वतन शाहजहाँपुर आकर पहले भारत सिल्क मैनुफैक्चरिंग कम्पनी में मैनेजर के पद पर कुछ दिन नौकरी की उसके बाद सदर बाजार में रेशमी साड़ियों की दुकान खोलकर बनारसीलाल के साथ व्यापार शुरू कर दिया.उन्होंने वर्ष 1916 में 19 वर्ष की आयु में क्रान्तिकारी मार्ग में कदम रखा था. 11 वर्ष के क्रान्तिकारी जीवन में उन्होंने कई पुस्तकें लिखीं और स्वयं ही उन्हें प्रकाशित किया. उन पुस्तकों को बेचकर जो पैसा मिला उससे उन्होंने हथियार खरीदे और उन हथियारों का उपयोग ब्रिटिश राज का विरोध करने के लिये किया.
- के. एस. हेगड़े :- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1909 में भारतीय विधिवेत्ता, राजनीतिज्ञ और पूर्व लोकसभा अध्यक्ष के. एस. हेगड़े का जन्म पूर्व मैसूर राज्य के जिला दक्षिण केनरा के कर्कला तालुका में स्थित कावदूर गांव में हुआ था.
- लेखक वासुदेव वामन शास्त्री खरे:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1924 में मराठी भाषा के इतिहासकार कवि, नाटककार और जीवनी लेखक वासुदेव वामन शास्त्री खरे का निधन हुआ था.
- लालडेंगा:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1927 में मिज़ोरम के मुख्यमंत्री लालडेंगा का जन्म हुआ था. लालडेंगा की अगुवाई में ‘मिज़ो नेशनल फ्रंट’ ने भारत सरकार के खिलाफ स्वतंत्रता के लिए 20 साल लंबी छापामार लड़ाई लड़ी. इसके बाद केंद्र के साथ 1986 में शांति समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए गए.
- पॉल रत्नस्वामी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1942 में भारतीय उत्प्रेरक वैज्ञानिक पॉल रत्नस्वामी का जन्म तमिलनाडु के चेन्नई शहर में हुआ था.
- शाहबुद्दीन याक़ूब क़ुरैशी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1947 में भारत के भूतपूर्व 17वें मुख्य निर्वाचन आयुक्त शाहबुद्दीन याक़ूब क़ुरैशी का जन्म हुआ था.
- लालू प्रसाद यादव:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1948 में बिहार के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री लालू प्रसाद यादव का जन्म गोपालगंज में एक यादव परिवार में हुआ था. प्रसाद ने वर्ष 1970 में पटना यूनिवर्सिटी स्टूडेंट्स यूनियन (पुसू) के महासचिव के रूप में छात्र राजनीति में प्रवेश किया और वर्ष 1973 में अपने अध्यक्ष बने. वर्ष 1974 में, उन्होंने बिहार आंदोलन, जयप्रकाश नारायण (जेपी) की अगुवाई वाली छात्र आंदोलन में अनुसूचित जाति व जनजाति तथा पिछड़े वर्ग के हक व अधिकार के लिए शामिल हो गए. लालू प्रसाद यादव मुख्यतः राजनीतिक और आर्थिक विषयों पर लेखों के अलावा विभिन्न आन्दोलनकारियों की जीवनियाँ पढ़ने का शौक रखते हैं. वे बिहार क्रिकेट एसोसिएशन के अध्यक्ष भी हैं. लालू यादव ने एक फिल्म में भी काम किया जिसका नाम उनके नाम पर ही है.देश भर में लालू प्रसाद यादव की एक छवि हास्य नेता की भी है. इनकी लोकप्रियता उनके बिहारी उच्चारण और अनोखे अंदाज के भाषण को लेकर भी है.

- Allahabad High Court: – On this day in the year 1866, the Allahabad High Court was established. It was earlier known as Agra High Court.
- Ram Prasad Bismil:- On this day in the year 1897, freedom fighter Ram Prasad Bismil was born in the Khirnibag locality of Shahjahanpur city of Uttar Pradesh. He was the second child of his father Muralidhar and his mother Mulmati. Special attention was paid to Ramprasad’s education since childhood. His mind was more interested in playing but less in reading. His father first made him understand the alphabet of Hindi, but he neither learned to read nor showed it by writing. After losing, he was admitted to an Urdu school. Perhaps this natural quality could make Ramprasad a revolutionary. At the age of about 14, Ramprasad got addicted to stealing money from his father’s chest. With the stolen money, he started reading by buying novels, etc., and had also developed the habit of smoking cigarettes and offering cannabis. Overall, the process of stealing money continued and Ramprasad had now become addicted to reading novels and books of ghazals full of Urdu love. Ramprasad started studying English after not passing the Urdu middle examination. At the same time, a priest from the neighborhood made Ramprasad aware of the method of worship. The priest was a settled scholar. His personality had an impact on Ramprasad’s life as well. During this time he came in contact with Munshi Indrajit who used to come to the temple. Munshi Indrajit told Ramprasad about the Arya Samaj and gave him to read Satyarth Prakash, a book written by Swami Dayanand Saraswati. One of the specialties of ‘Bismil’ was that he did not stay at any place for long. After the official announcement, Ram Prasad Bismil came to his hometown Shahjahanpur and first worked as a manager at Bharat Silk Manufacturing Company for a few days, after that he opened a silk saree shop in Sadar Bazar and started the business with Banarsilal. He became a revolutionary in the year 1916 at the age of 19 and stepped on the way. In the revolutionary life of 11 years, he wrote many books and published them himself. With the money he got by selling those books, he bought weapons and used those weapons to oppose the British Raj.
