Vidyapati Smriti Diwas

Vidyapati Smriti Diwas is celebrated in the Mithila region in memory of the great poet, litterateur and devotee poet Vidyapati. This day holds special significance to honour his literary and cultural contributions. Vidyapati was born in the Mithila region and was famous for his Maithili, Sanskrit and Awadhi compositions. His literature is an expression of love, devotion and culture, and he is also known as Maithili Kokil.
