- चाफेकर बंधुओं:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1897 में चाफेकर बंधुओं (पुणे ) ने तत्कालीन जिलाधिकारी वाल्टर चार्ल्स रैण्ड की गोली मारकर हत्या कर दी.
- स्वतंत्रता सेनानी गणेश घोष:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1900 में स्वतंत्रता सेनानी गणेश घोष का जन्म ब्रिटिशकालीन भारत में बंगाल में हुआ था. विद्यार्थी जीवन में ही वे स्वतंत्रता संग्राम में सम्मिलित हो गए थे. गाँधी जी ने असहयोग आंदोलन स्थगित कर दिया तो गणेश कोलकाता के जादवपुर इंजीनियरिंग कॉलेज में भर्ती हो गए. वर्ष 1923 में उन्हें ‘मानिकतल्ला बम कांड’ के सिलसिले में गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया. कोई प्रमाण न मिलने के कारण उन्हें सज़ा तो नहीं हुई पर सरकार ने 4 वर्ष के लिए नज़रबंद कर दिया था. वर्ष 1928 में वे बाहर निकले और कांग्रेस के कोलकाता अधिवेशन में भाग लिया.प्रसिद्ध क्रांतिकारी सूर्य सेन के संपर्क में आए और शस्त्र बल से अंग्रेज़ों की सत्ता समाप्त करके चिटगाँव में राष्ट्रीय सरकार की स्थापना की तैयारी करने लगे. स्वतंत्रता के बाद भी उन्होंने अनेक आंदोलनों में भाग लिया और अपने जीवन के लगभग 27 वर्ष जेलों में बिताए.
- अभिनेता और खलनायक अमरीश पुरी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1932 में अमरीश पुरी का जन्म जन्म पंजाब के नवांशहर में निहाल सिंह पुरी और वेद कौर के खत्री परिवार में हुआ था.अपने बड़े भाई मदन पुरी का अनुसरण करते हुए फ़िल्मों में काम करने मुंबई पहुंचे, लेकिन पहले ही स्क्रीन टेस्ट में विफल रहे और उन्होंने ‘भारतीय जीवन बीमा निगम’ में नौकरी कर ली. अमरीश पुरी ने वर्ष 1960 के दशक में रंगमंच को आगे बढ़ाने में अहम भूमिका निभाई. उन्होंने दुबे और गिरीश कर्नाड के लिखे नाटकों में प्रस्तुतियाँ दीं. रंगमंच पर बेहतर प्रस्तुति के लिए उन्हें वर्ष 1979 में संगीत नाटक अकादमी की तरफ से पुरस्कार दिया गया, जो उनके अभिनय कैरियर का पहला बड़ा पुरस्कार था.अमरीश ने अपने फ़िल्मी कैरियर की शुरुआत वर्ष 1971 में फ़िल्म ‘रेशमा और शेरा’ से खलनायक के रूप में की लेकिन, वह इस फ़िल्म से दर्शकों के बीच अपनी पहचान नहीं बना सके. अमरीश को हिंदी सिनेमा में स्थापित होने में थोड़ा वक्त जरूर लगा, लेकिन फिर कामयाबी उनके कदम चूमती गयी. वर्ष 1980 के दशक में उन्होंने बतौर खलनायक कई बड़ी फिल्मों में अपनी छाप छोड़ी. वर्ष 1987 में शेखर कपूर की फिल्म ‘मिस्टर इंडिया में मोगैंबो की भूमिका के जरिए वे सभी के जेहन में छा गए.वर्ष 1990 के दशक में उन्होंने ‘दिलवाले दुल्हनिया ले जाएंगे ‘घायल’ और ‘विरासत’ में अपनी सकारात्मक भूमिका के जरिए सभी का दिल जीता.
- कवी जगन्नाथदास ‘रत्नाकर’:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1932 में कवी जगन्नाथदास ‘रत्नाकर’ का निधन हुआ था.

- अनुभव सिन्हा:-आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1965 में फिल्म निर्देशक, निर्माता और लेखक अनुभव सिन्हा का जन्म हुआ था. इलाहाबाद उत्तर-प्रदेश में हुआ था। उनके पिता का नाम प्रेम गोविन्द सिन्हा और माँ का नाम सुशीला सिन्हा है.अनुभव ने अपनी पढाई गवर्मेंट इंटर कॉलेज इलाहाबद से पूरी की है. उसके बाद अनुभव ने अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम यूनिवर्सिटी से मिकेनिकल इंजिनीयरिंग में स्नातक हैं.इंजिनीयरिंग करने के नबाद अनुभव ने दो साल तक नई दिल्ली में बतौर इंजीनियर नौकरी की,उसके बाद वह मुंबई आकर पंकज पाराशार के साथ बतौर सहायक निर्देशक हिंदी सिनेमा में काम करना शुरू कर दिया. अनुभव ने वर्ष 2001 में फिल्म तुम बिन निर्देशित की. हालांकि यह फिल्म दर्शकों पर अपनी कोई ख़ास छाप नहीं छोड़ सकी और बॉक्स-ऑफिस पर फ्लॉप साबित हुई.वर्ष 2011 में अनुभव ने बॉलीवुड के बादशाह शाहरुख़ खान के साथ मिलकर रा-1 निर्देशित की। इस फिल्म में शाहरुख़ खान,करीना कपूर और अर्जुन रामपाल मुख्य भूमिका में नजर आये थे.
