- सम्राट ‘अकबर‘: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1542 को मुगल वंश के सम्राट ‘अकबर’ का जन्म उमरकोट किला, सिंध में हुआ था. तैमूरी वंशावली के मुगल वंश का तीसरा शासक था ‘अकबर’. मुगल साम्राज्य के संस्थापक ‘जहीरुद्दीन मुहम्मद बाबर’ का पौत्र और ‘नासिरुद्दीन हुमायूं’ एवं ‘हमीदा बानो’ का पुत्र था ‘अकबर’.’अकबर’ के शासन का प्रभाव देश की कला एवं संस्कृति पर भी पड़ा था. मुगल चित्रकारी का विकास करने के साथ साथ ही उसने यूरोपीय शैली का भी स्वागत किया था. उसे साहित्य में भी काफी रुचि थी और उसने अनेक संस्कृत पाण्डुलिपियों व ग्रन्थों को फारसी में तथा फारसी ग्रन्थों का संस्कृत व हिन्दी में भी अनुवाद करबाया था.
- शांति संधि पर हस्ताक्षर: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1686 को ‘औरंगजेब’ ने बीजापुर के साथ शांति संधि पर हस्ताक्षर किए थे.
- फिल्म निर्माता रघुपति वेंकैया नायडू: – आज ही के दिन 1869 में फिल्म निर्माता रघुपति वेंकैया नायडू का जन्म मछलीपट्टनम में हुआ था. उन्होंने कई मूक भारतीय फिल्मों और टॉकीज का निर्माण किया था.
- नाटककार और गीतकार ‘चंद्रधर बरुआ‘: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1874 में लेखक, कवि, नाटककार और गीतकार ‘चंद्रधर बरुआ’ का जन्म डेरगांव, गोलाघाट, असम में हुआ था.
- ‘शिरडी के साईं‘: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1918 में ‘शिरडी के साईं’ का निधन शिरडी में हुआ था.
- भूपतिराजू विस्सम राजू: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1920 में रासी सीमेंट्स और सीमेंट कॉरपोरेशन ऑफ इंडिया के पूर्व अध्यक्ष ‘भूपतिराजू विस्सम राजू’ का जन्म कुमुदवल्ली ( आंध्र प्रदेश ) में हुआ था.’भूपतिराजू’ को भारतीय सीमेंट उद्योग का अग्रदूत भी माना जाता है. उन्हें वर्ष 2001 में भारत सरकार ने उद्योग एवं व्यापार क्षेत्र में ‘पद्म भूषण’ से सम्मानित किया था.
- पूर्व राष्ट्रपति और मिसाइल मैन ‘ए. पी. जे. अब्दुल. कलाम‘: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1931 को पूर्व राष्ट्रपति और मिसाइल मैन ‘ए. पी. जे. अब्दुल. कलाम’ का जन्म धनुषकोडी गाँव (रामेश्वरम, तमिलनाडु) के एक मध्यम वर्गीय मुस्लिम अंसार परिवार में हुआ था. उनके पिता नाम जैनुलाब्दीन था. पाँच वर्ष की अवस्था में रामेश्वरम की पंचायत के प्राथमिक विद्यालय में कलाम का दीक्षा-संस्कार हुआ था. कलाम ने अपनी आरंभिक शिक्षा जारी रखने के लिए अख़बार वितरित करने का काम भी किया था. वर्ष 1972 में ‘अब्दुल. कलाम’ भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन से जुड़े थे. उनके दिशा-निर्देशन में भारत का पहला स्वदेशी उपग्रह (एस.एल.वी. तृतीय) प्रक्षेपास्त्र बनाने का श्रेय हासिल हुआ था. वर्ष 1980 में इन्होंने रोहिणी उपग्रह को पृथ्वी की कक्षा के निकट स्थापित किया था. कलाम ने स्वदेशी लक्ष्य भेदी नियंत्रित प्रक्षेपास्त्र (गाइडेड मिसाइल्स) को डिजाइन व स्वदेशी तकनीक से बनाया भी था. ज्ञात है कि, पूर्व राष्ट्रपति कलाम कर्नाटक भक्ति संगीत को हर दिन सुनते थे साथ ही उन्हें हिंदू संस्कृति में गहरी आस्था व विश्वास भी था.
- राजनीतिज्ञ ‘मदन लाल खुराना‘: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1936 में दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री ‘मदन लाल खुराना’ का जन्म ब्रितानी भारत के ल्याल्लपुर (वर्तमान फैसलाबाद) में हुआ था. उनके पिता का नाम एस.डी. खुराना और माँ का नाम लक्ष्मी देवी था. भारत के विभाजन के समय ‘मदन लाल खुराना’ को अपना घर छोड़ना पड़ा और नई दिल्ली के कीर्ति नगर के शरणार्थी शिविर में रहे थे. खुराना ने दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय के किरोड़ी मल कॉलेज से स्नातक पास की थी. खुराना ने ही छात्र राजनीति की शुरुआत इलाहाबाद से की थी.
- साहित्यकार सूर्यकांत त्रिपाठी निराला: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1961 में साहित्यकार सूर्यकांत त्रिपाठी निराला का निधन प्रयागराज में हुआ था.
- अभिनेता-निर्देशक ओम शिवपुरी: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1990 में अभिनेता-निर्देशक ओम शिवपुरी का निधन मुंबई में हुआ था.

- Emperor ‘Akbar’: – On this day in the year 1542, Emperor ‘Akbar’ of the Mughal dynasty was born in Umerkot Fort, Sindh. ‘Akbar’ was the third ruler of the Mughal dynasty of the Taimuri dynasty. Akbar was the grandson of ‘Zaheeruddin Muhammad Babar’, the founder of the Mughal Empire and the son of ‘Nasiruddin Humayun’ and ‘Hamida Bano’. Akbar’s rule also had an impact on the art and culture of the country. Along with developing Mughal painting, he also welcomed the European style.
