1. महिला शासिका रजिया सुल्तान: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1240 में महिला शासिका रजिया सुल्तान का निधन कैथल, हरियाणा में हुआ था.
2. मुग़ल बादशाह बहादुर शाह प्रथम: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1643 में मुग़ल बादशाह बहादुर शाह प्रथम का जन्म बुरहानपुर, भारत में हुआ था. ज्ञात है कि , बहादुर शाह प्रथम दिल्ली का सातवाँ मुग़ल बादशाह था. उसके पिता का नाम बादशाह औरंगज़ेब था. वर्ष 1699 में क़ाबुल (वर्तमान अफ़ग़ानिस्तान) का सुबेदार नियुक्त किया गया था.
3. पंजाब विश्वविद्यालय: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1882 में पंजाब विश्वविद्यालय की स्थापना ब्रिटिश उपनिवेश वादी सरकार द्वारा लाहौर में हुई थी. भारत विभाजन के बाद कुछ समय के लिए यह दिल्ली तथा शिमला से कार्यरत रही थी. बताते चलें कि, भारत के प्राचीन विश्वविद्यालयों में से एक है पंजाब विश्वविद्यालय. वर्तमान समय में पंजाब विश्वविद्यालय चण्डीगढ़ में स्थित है.
4. क्रांतिकारी लाला हरदयाल: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1884 में ‘गदर पार्टी’ के संस्थापक लाला हरदयाल का जन्म दिल्ली में हुआ था. देशभक्ति की भावना हरदयाल के अन्दर छात्र जीवन से ही भरी हुई थी. उन्होंने दिल्ली में युवकों के एक दल का भी गठन किया था. लाहौर में उनके दल में लाला लाजपत राय जैसे युवा भी सम्मिलित थे. एम. ए. की परीक्षा में अच्छे नंबर लाने पर उन्हें छात्रवृत्ति मिली। जिसके बाद हरदयाल उच्च शिक्षा लेने के लिए लंदन चले गए जहाँ उनकी मुलाकात लाला हरदयाल जी भाई परमानन्द, श्याम कृष्ण वर्मा हुई. हरदयाल ने श्याम कृष्ण वर्मा के सहयोग से ‘पॉलिटिकल मिशनरी’ नाम की एक संस्था बनाई थी. दो वर्ष उन्होंने लंदन के सेंट जोंस कॉलेज में बिताए और फिर भारत वापस आकर पटियाला, दिल्ली होते हुए लाहौर पहुँचे जहाँ ‘पंजाब’ नामक अंग्रेज़ी पत्र के सम्पादक बन गए. हरदयाल के बढ़ते प्रभाव को देखकर सरकारी हल्कों में उनकी गिरफ़्तारी की चर्चा होने लगी थी. तब लाला लाजपत राय ने आग्रह करके उन्हें विदेश भेज दिया गया. वर्ष 1913 में ग़दर पार्टी की स्थापना हुई थी जिसका मुख्य उद्देश्य था अंग्रेजी साम्राज्य को जड़ से उखाड़ फेंकना. प्रथम विश्वयुद्ध आरम्भ होने पर लाला हरदयाल ने भारत में सशस्त्र क्रान्ति को प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए क़दम भी उठाए थे. हरदयाल ने भारत का पक्ष प्रचार करने के लिए स्विट्ज़रलैण्ड, तुर्की आदि देशों की भी यात्रा की थी.
5. संपदा शुल्क अधिनियम: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1953 में भारत में संपदा शुल्क अधिनियम प्रभावी हुआ था. बताते चलें कि, संपदा शुल्क अधिनियम,1953 में एक नई धारा 16 ए के सम्मिलन आवंटित या एक सहकारी आवास सोसाइटी द्वारा उसे काम पर रखा इमारत में मृतक के हित से संबंधित, (बाद में “मूल अधिनियम” के रूप में करने के लिए कहा गया है).
6. बौद्ध धर्म अपनाया: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1956 में डॉ. भीम राव अम्बेडकर ने अपने तीन लाख 85 हजार अनुयायियों के साथ कोचांदा (नागपुर) में बौद्ध धर्म अपनाया था.
7. अभिनेत्री जोया अख्तर: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1972 को अभिनेत्री जोया अख्तर का जन्म मुंबई में हुआ था. उनके पिता का नाम जावेद अख्तर है जो बॉलीवुड के लेखक और कवि हैं और उनकी माँ का नाम हनी ईरानी है.  जोया अख्तर की सौतेली माँ शबाना आजमी भी बॉलीवुड का एक- मानी अभिनेत्री हैं. जोया अख्तर निर्देशक-कोरिओग्राफर फराह खान और निर्देशक साजिद खान की मौसेरी बहन है. जोया ने अपनी प्रारम्भिक शिक्षा मनेच्क्जी कूपर विद्यालय, मुम्बई से की और स्नातक की पढ़ाई उन्होंने सेंट जेवियर्स कॉलेज, मुम्बई से पूर्ण की थी. पढ़ाई पूरी होने के बाद जोया ने फिल्म निर्माण से जुड़ी बारीकियां सीखने के लिए न्यूयॉर्क विश्वविद्यालय चलीं गयीं. जोया ने अपने निर्देशन कैरियर की शुरुआत वर्ष 2011 में फिल्म ‘लक बाय चांस’ से की थी.
8. क्रिकेटर गौतम गंभीर: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1981 में क्रिकेटर और भारतीय जनता पार्टी के नेता गौतम गंभीर का जन्म नई दिल्ली में हुआ था. उनके पिता का नाम दीपक गंभीर है जो टेक्सटाइल बिजनेसमैन हैं और उनकी माँ का नाम सीमा है. गौतम की प्रारम्भिक शिक्षा मॉडर्न स्कूल, नई दिल्ली से पूरी की. उन्होंने आगे की पढ़ाई हिन्दू कॉलेज से पूरी की थी. बताते चलें कि, गौतम ने १० वर्ष की उम्र से क्रिकेट खेलना शुरू कर दिया था. गौतम को वर्ष 2000 में  बैंगलोर में राष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट अकादमी के लिए चुना गया था. गौतम के लिए वर्ष 2008 बहुत ही अच्छा रहा था उन्होंने  रणजी ट्रॉफी के फाइनल में नाबाद 130 रन बनाए, जिसमें दिल्ली ने उत्तर प्रदेश को नौ विकेट से हराया था. वर्ष 2002 में गौतम ने जिम्बाब्वे के खिलाफ लगातार दो दोहरे शतक बनाए थे. गौतम को वर्ष 2007 में आईसीसी वर्ल्ड ट्वेंटी 20 के लिए भारत की टीम में चुना गया, जिसे भारत ने दक्षिण अफ्रीका में जीत लिया, और फाइनल में पाकिस्तान को हरा दिया था.
9. अभिनेत्री विभूती शर्मा: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1996 में अभिनेत्री विभूती शर्मा का जन्म हुआ था. उनकी माँ का नाम डॉ. विभाश्री है जो पेशे से डॉक्टर और ज्योतिषी भी है. विभूति एक बहुमुखी भारतीय अभिनेत्री और मॉडल हैं जो कई अंतर्राष्ट्रीय ब्रांडों का चेहरा भी रही हैं. विभूती शर्मा ने अपने अभिनय कैरियर की शुरुआत फिल्म कुकी से की है.
10. शहीदों को श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित की: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1997 में ब्रिटेन की महारानी एलिजाबेथ द्वितीय और प्रिंस फ़िलिप ने अमृतसर के जलियांवाला बाग में शहीदों को श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित की थी.

1. Female ruler Razia Sultan: – On this day in the year 1240, female ruler Razia Sultan died in Kaithal, Haryana.
2. Mughal Emperor Bahadur Shah I: – On this day in the year 1643, Mughal Emperor Bahadur Shah I was born in Burhanpur, India. It is known that Bahadur Shah I was the seventh Mughal emperor of Delhi. His father’s name was Emperor Aurangzeb. In the year 1699, he was appointed the governor of Kabul (present-day Afghanistan).
3. Punjab University: – On this day in the year 1882, Punjab University was established in Lahore by the British colonial government. After the partition of India, it was functioning from Delhi and Shimla for some time. Let us tell you that Punjab University is one of the ancient universities of India. At present Punjab University is situated in Chandigarh.
4. Revolutionary Lala Hardayal: – On this day in the year 1884, Lala Hardayal, the founder of the ‘Gadar Party’, was born in Delhi. The feeling of patriotism was instilled in Hardayal right from his student days. He had also formed a group of youth in Delhi. Youth like Lala Lajpat Rai were also included in his party in Lahore. MA. He got a scholarship for scoring good marks in the examination. After this Hardayal went to London to pursue higher education where he met Lala Hardayal ji, brother Parmanand, and Shyam Krishna Verma. Hardayal had formed an organization named ‘Political Missionary’ with the help of Shyam Krishna Verma. He spent two years at St. John’s College, London and then came back to India and reached Lahore via Patiala, Delhi where he became the editor of an English newspaper named ‘Punjab’. Seeing the increasing influence of Hardayal, his arrest started being discussed in government circles. Then Lala Lajpat Rai requested him to send him abroad. The Ghadar Party was established in the year 1913, whose main objective was to uproot the British Empire. When the First World War started, Lala Hardayal also took steps to encourage armed revolution in India. Hardayal had also travelled to countries like Switzerland, Turkey etc. to campaign for India.

His father’s name is Deepak Gambhir who is a textile businessman and his mother’s name is Seema. Gautam completed his primary education at Modern School, New Delhi.
