1. कश्मीर में प्रवेश किया: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1586 में मुगल बादशाह अकबर की सेना ने कश्मीर में प्रवेश किया था. बताते चलें कि, चक वंश के शासक युसुफ शाह चक के आत्मसमर्पण करने के कारण कश्मीर पर मुगलों ने कब्जा किया था.
2. सिक्खों के गुरु ‘गुरु गोविंद सिंह’: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1708 में सिक्खों के गुरु ‘गुरु गोविंद सिंह’ का निधन हुआ था.
3. समुद्र में 40 फुट नीचे डूबने से: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1737 में बंगाल में 20 हजार छोटे जहाज के समुद्र में 40 फुट नीचे डूबने से तीन लाख लोगों की मौत हुई थी.
4. स्वतंत्रता सेनानी नरहरि पारिख: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1891 में स्वतंत्रता सेनानी नरहरि पारिख का जन्म गुजरात के अहमदाबाद में हुआ था. उन्होंने ‘गुजरात कॉलेज’ से अपनी स्नातक की शिक्षा पूर्ण की और फिर मुम्बई से क़ानून की डिग्री प्राप्त की थी. महात्मा गाँधी ने अपनी वसीयत में महादेव देसाई और नरहरि पारिख को अपना ट्रस्टी नियुक्त किया था. वर्ष 1937 में प्रथम कांग्रेस मंत्रिमंडल बनने पर नरहरि पारिख को बुनियादी शिक्षा बोर्ड का अध्यक्ष नियुक्त बनाया गया था. वर्ष 1940 में वे ‘सेवाग्राम’ के ‘ग्राम सेवक विद्यालय’ के प्राचार्य भी बनाये गए थे.
5. क्रान्तिकारी दुर्गा भाभी: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1907 में क्रान्तिकारी दुर्गा भाभी का जन्म के शहजादपुर नामक गाँव (इलाहाबाद) के पंडित बांके बिहारी के यहाँ हुआ था. पंडित बांके बिहारी इलाहाबाद कलेक्ट्रेट में नाजिर थे जबकि उनके बाबा महेश प्रसाद भट्ट जालौन ज़िले में थानेदार के पद पर तैनात थे. दुर्गा भाभी का पूरा नाम दुर्गावती देवी था. दस वर्ष की अल्प आयु में ही दुर्गा भाभी का विवाह लाहौर के भगवतीचरण बोहरा के साथ हो गया था. क्रांतिकारी भगवतीचरण बोहरा के साथ विवाह हो जाने के बाद दुर्गा भाभी शीघ्र ही वे अपने पति के कार्यों में सहयोग देने लगी थीं.अपने क्रांतिकारी जीवन में दुर्गा भाभी ने खतरा मोल लेकर कई बड़े काम किये थे.28 मई वर्ष 1930 का दिन दुर्गा भाभी के जिंदगी का काला दिन था.28 मई के दिन ही उनके पति की मौत हो गई थी. दुर्गा भाभी इस घटना से जल्दी ही उबर गई और देश की आज़ादी को ही अपने जीवन का आखिरी लक्ष्य मान कर एक बार फिर से आजादी की जंग में कूद पड़ी थी. दुर्गा भाभी ने देश के लिए, उसकी आज़ादी के लिए अपने पति, परिवार, बच्चा और एक खुशहाल जीवन सब कुछ दांव पर लगा दिया, लेकिन आज़ादी के बाद जिस तरह से उन्होंने गुमनामी की चादर ओढ़ी ली थी.
6. ग़ज़ल और ठुमरी गायिका बेगम अख़्तर: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1914 में ग़ज़ल और ठुमरी गायिका बेगम अख़्तर का जन्म फ़ैज़ाबाद (उत्तर प्रदेश) में हुआ था. अख़्तर का बचपन के दिनों से ही पार्श्व गायिका बनना चाहती थीं लेकिन, उनके परिवार वाले उनकी इस इच्छा के सख्त ख़िलाफ़ थे. उनके चाचा ने बेगम अख़्तर के संगीत के प्रति लगाव को पहचान लिया और उन्हें इस राह पर आगे बढ़ने के लिये प्रेरित भी किया था. बेगम अख़्तर ने फ़ैज़ाबाद में सारंगी के उस्ताद इमान ख़ाँ और अता मोहम्मद खान से संगीत की प्रारंभिक शिक्षा ली थी. इसके अलावा उन्होंने मोहम्मद ख़ान, अब्दुल वहीद ख़ान से भारतीय शास्त्रीय संगीत भी सीखा था. नाटकों में मिली शोहरत के बाद बेगम अख़्तर को कलकत्ता की ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी में अभिनय करने का मौका मिला था. बेगम अख़्तर ने अपने अभिनय कैरियर की शुरुआत फिल्म ‘एक दिन का बादशाह’ से की थी. परन्तु उनकी पहचान वर्ष 1933 में ईस्ट इंडिया के बैनर तले बनी फ़िल्म ‘नल दमयंती’ से मिली थी.
7. स्वतंत्रता सेनानी बली राम भगत: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1922 में स्वतंत्रता सेनानी एवं पूर्व लोकसभा अध्यक्ष बली राम भगत का जन्म पटना, बिहार में हुआ था. उन्होंने स्नातक की शिक्षा पटना कॉलेज से प्राप्त की और बाद में पटना विश्वविद्यालय से अर्थशास्त्र की शिक्षा ली. वर्ष 1939 में भगत की उम्र करीब 17 वर्ष की  रही होगी उस वक्त उन्होंने भारतीय राष्ट्रीय कांग्रेस में शामिल हो कर पार्टी द्वारा देश को विदेशी शासन से मुक्त कराने के लिए शुरू किए गए कई संघर्षों में भी भाग लिया था. भगत वर्ष 1944 में अखिल भारतीय विद्यार्थी कांग्रेस के संस्थापक सदस्य और वर्ष 1946-47 के दौरान बिहार प्रदेश विद्यार्थी कांग्रेस के महासचिव भी रहे थे. वर्ष 1963-66 तक  भगत योजना मंत्रालय में राज्य मंत्री बने थे. उसके बाद वर्ष 1963-67 के दौरान वह वित्त मंत्रालय में राज्य मंत्री रहे. बली राम भगत को गुरदयाल सिंह ढिल्‍लों द्वारा अध्यक्ष पद से त्यागपत्र दिए जाने के बाद रिक्त हुए पद पर 15 जनवरी, 1976 को पांचवीं लोक सभा के अध्यक्ष के रूप में निर्वाचित किया गया था. भगत अपने संसदीय जीवन के दौरान भगत ने अनेक अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मंचों पर भारतीय संसद का प्रतिनिधित्व किया था.
8. कवि एवं आलोचक विजयदेव नारायण साही: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1924 में कवि एवं आलोचक विजयदेव नारायण साही का जन्म कबीर चौरा, वाराणसी में हुआ था. इनके पिता का नाम ब्राह्मदेवनारायण साही तथा माता का नाम सूरतवन्ती साही था. बताते चलें कि, ‘मछलीघर’ उनके जीवन-काल में प्रकाशित एकमात्र पुस्तक थी.
9. शास्त्रीय गायक अरुण भादुड़ी: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1943 में शास्त्रीय गायक अरुण भादुड़ी का जन्म पश्चिम बंगाल के मुर्शिदाबाद में हुआ था. भादुड़ी ने संगीत की प्रारम्भिक शिक्षा मोहम्मद ए दाउद ने दी थी. उसके बाद उन्होंने हिंदुस्तानी शास्त्रीय संगीत की बारीकियों, बारीकियों और अलंकरणों पर मोहम्मद सगीरुद्दीन खान से सीखा था. आईटीसी-एसआरए में अरुण भादुड़ी ने रामपुर-सहसवान घराने के स्वर्गीय उस्ताद इश्तियाक हुसैन खान से प्रशिक्षण प्राप्त किया था. अरुण भादुड़ी ने अपनी खुद की एक अनौपचारिक शैली बनाने के लिए इन सभी शैलियों को खूबसूरती से चित्रित किया है. संगीत के क्षेत्र में शानदार योगदान के कारण वर्ष 2014 में पंडित अरुण भादुड़ी को राज्य का सबसे शीर्ष नागरिक सम्मान ‘बंग बिभूषण’ से सम्मानित किया गया था.
10. मिशनरीज ऑफ़ चैरिटी की स्थापना: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1950 में मदर टेरेसा ने कोलकाता में मिशनरीज ऑफ़ चैरिटी की स्थापना की थी.
11. स्वतन्त्रता सेनानी के. केलप्पन: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1971 में स्वतन्त्रता सेनानी के. केलप्पन का निधन हुआ था.
12. संगीतकार वाजिद ख़ान: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1977 में संगीतकार वाजिद ख़ान का जन्म मध्य प्रदेश के जिले मंदसौर के बेहद छोटे से गाँव सोनगिरी में हुआ था.
13. अभिनेत्री एवं मिस वर्ल्ड युक्ता मुखी: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1979 में अभिनेत्री एवं मिस वर्ल्ड युक्ता मुखी का जन्म बेंगलूर के एक सिंधी परिवार में हुआ था. युक्ता ने वर्ष 1999 में मिस इंडिया का खिताब जीता था. उसके बाद उन्होंने वर्ष 1999 में ही मिस वर्ल्ड भी बनीं थी. युक्ता मुखी ने अपने अभिनय कैरियर की शुरुआत वर्ष 2002 में फिल्म ‘प्यासा’ से की थी. युक्ता मुखी ने वर्ष 2008 में न्यूयॉर्क बेस्ड बिजनेसमैन प्रिंस तुली से शादी कर ली.
14. क्रिकेटर ज़हीर ख़ान: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1978 में क्रिकेटर ज़हीर ख़ान का जन्म श्रीरामपुर, अहमदनगर, महाराष्ट्र में हुआ था. ज़हीर दाएँ हाथ से बल्लेबाज़ी और बाएँ हाथ से मध्यम तेज़ गति की गेंदबाज़ी करते हैं.
15. फिल्म अभिनेता अरुण बाली: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2022 में फिल्म अभिनेता अरुण बाली का निधन मुम्बई में हुआ था.

1. Entered Kashmir: – On this day in the year 1586, the army of Mughal emperor Akbar entered Kashmir. Let us tell you that Kashmir was captured by the Mughals due to the surrender of Chak dynasty ruler Yusuf Shah Chak.
2. Guru of Sikhs ‘Guru Gobind Singh’: – On this day in the year 1708, Guru of Sikhs ‘Guru Gobind Singh’ died.
3. Due to sinking 40 feet below the sea: – On this day in the year 1737, three lakh people died in Bengal when 20 thousand small ships sank 40 feet below the sea.
4. Freedom fighter Narhari Parikh: – On this day in the year 1891, freedom fighter Narhari Parikh was born in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. He completed his graduation from ‘Gujarat College’ and then obtained a law degree from Mumbai. Mahatma Gandhi had appointed Mahadev Desai and Narhari Parikh as his trustees in his will. When the first Congress Cabinet was formed in 1937, Narhari Parikh was appointed Chairman of the Basic Education Board. In the year 1940, he was also made the principal of ‘Gram Sevak Vidyalaya’ of ‘Sevagram’.
5. Revolutionary Durga Bhabhi: – On this day in the year 1907, revolutionary Durga Bhabhi was born to Pandit Banke Bihari of a village named Shahzadpur (Allahabad). Pandit Banke Bihari was a Nazir in Allahabad Collectorate while her father Mahesh Prasad Bhatt was from Jalaun. Was posted as Police Station Officer in the district. Durga Bhabhi’s full name was Durgavati Devi. At the young age of ten, Durga Bhabhi was married to Bhagwati Charan Bohra of Lahore. After getting married to the revolutionary Bhagwati Charan Bohra, Durga Bhabhi soon started supporting her husband in his work. In her revolutionary life, Durga Bhabhi had done many big things by taking risks. 28 May 1930 was the day of Durga Bhabhi. It was a dark day in her life. Her husband had died on 28th May itself. Durga Bhabhi soon recovered from this incident and considering the independence of the country as the ultimate goal of her life, she once again jumped into the fight for freedom. Durga Bhabhi risked her husband, family, child and a happy life for the country and its freedom, but after independence, the way she covered herself with anonymity.
6. Ghazal and Thumri singer Begum Akhtar: – On this day in the year 1914, Ghazal and Thumri singer Begum Akhtar was born in Faizabad (Uttar Pradesh). Akhtar wanted to become a playback singer since her childhood days, but her family members were strictly against her wishes. Her uncle recognized Begum Akhtar’s passion for music and inspired her to move forward. Begum Akhtar took her primary education in music from Sarangi maestro Iman Khan and Ata Mohammad Khan in Faizabad. Apart from this, he also learned Indian classical music from Mohammad Khan and Abdul Waheed Khan. After gaining fame in plays, Begum Akhtar got a chance to act in the East India Company of Calcutta. Begum Akhtar started her acting career with the film ‘Ek Din Ka Badshah’. But he got recognition from the film ‘Nal Damayanti’ made under the banner of East India in the year 1933.
7. Freedom fighter Bali Ram Bhagat: – On this day in the year 1922, freedom fighter and former Lok Sabha Speaker Bali Ram Bhagat was born in Patna, Bihar. He received his graduation from Patna College and later studied economics at Patna University. In the year 1939, Bhagat would have been around 17 years of age, at that time he had joined the Indian National Congress and also participated in many struggles started by the party to free the country from foreign rule. Bhagat was a founding member of the All-India Student Congress in 1944 and also the General Secretary of Bihar Pradesh Student Congress during 1946-47. Bhagat became Minister of State in the Planning Ministry from 1963-66. After that, during the year 1963-67, he was Minister of State in the Finance Ministry. Bali Ram Bhagat was elected as the Speaker of the fifth Lok Sabha on January 15, 1976, to fill the vacancy caused by Gurdial Singh Dhillon’s resignation from the Speaker post. Bhagat During his parliamentary career, Bhagat represented the Indian Parliament at many international forums.
8. Poet and critic Vijaydev Narayan Sahi: – On this day in the year 1924, poet and critic Vijaydev Narayan Sahi was born in Kabir Chaura, Varanasi. His father’s name was Brahmadevnarayan Sahi and his mother’s name was Suratwanti Sahi. Let us tell you that ‘Machhalighar’ was the only book published during his lifetime.
9. Classical singer Arun Bhaduri: – On this day in the year 1943, classical singer Arun Bhaduri was born in Murshidabad, West Bengal. Bhaduri was given initial education in music by Mohammed A Dawood. After that, he learned the subtleties, nuances and embellishments of Hindustani classical music from Mohammad Sagiruddin Khan. At ITC-SRA, Arun Bhaduri received training from the late Ustad Ishtiaq Hussain Khan of Rampur-Sahaswan Gharana. Arun Bhaduri has beautifully combined all these styles to create a casual style of his own. Due to his outstanding contribution to the field of music, in the year 2014, Pandit Arun Bhaduri was awarded the state’s highest civilian award ‘Bang Bibhushan’.
