- 11वाँ बादशाह रफ़ीउद्दौला: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1719 में मुग़ल वंश का 11वाँ बादशाह रफ़ीउद्दौला का निधन का निधन हुआ था.
- श्रीपाद दामोदर सातवलेकर:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1867 में श्रीपाद दामोदर सातवलेकर का जन्म सह्याद्रि पर्वत श्रृंखला के दक्षिणी छोर पर स्थित ‘सावंतवाड़ी’ रियासत में हुआ था. इनके पिता का नाम दामोदर भट्ट था. बचपन से ही बालक श्रीपाद दामोदर सातवलेकर को वेदों का अध्ययन कराया गया था. संस्कृत भाषा के प्रचार में भी पहला अखिल भारतीय प्रयास पण्डित सातवलेकर ने ही किया था. उन्होंने इस कठिन भाषा को सरलता से सिखाने के लिए आज से 80 वर्ष पूर्व ‘संस्कृत स्वयं शिक्षक’ नाम से पुस्तक तैयार की थी.

- अंतरिक्षयात्री सुनीता विलियम्स: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1965 में अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी ‘नासा’ के माध्यम से अंतरिक्ष जाने वाली भारतीय मूल की दूसरी महिला सुनीता विलियम्स का जन्म अमेरिका के ओहियो राज्य में यूक्लिड नगर (स्थित क्लीवलैंड) में हुआ था. उनके पिता डॉ. दीपक एन. पांड्या एक जाने-माने तंत्रिका विज्ञानी हैं, जिनका संबंध भारत के गुजरात राज्य से हैं और उनकी माँ का नाम बॉनी जालोकर पांड्या स्लोवेनिया की हैं. सुनीता ने मैसाचुसेट्स से ही हाई स्कूल पास करने के बाद वर्ष 1987 में उन्होंने संयुक्त राष्ट्र की नौसैनिक अकादमी से फिजिकल साइन्स में बीएस (स्नातक उपाधि) की परीक्षा उत्तीर्ण की उसके बाद वर्ष 1995 में उन्होंने फ़्लोरिडा इंस्टिट्यूट ऑफ़ टैक्नोलॉजी से इंजीनियरिंग मैनेजमेंट में एम.एस. की उपाधि हासिल की. वर्ष 1998 में सुनीता का अमेरिका की अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी नासा में चयन हुआ जिसके बाद उनका प्रशिक्षण भी शुरू हुआ था. वर्ष 1998 से नासा से जुड़ी सुनीता ने अभी तक कुल 30 अलग-अलग अंतरिक्ष यानों में 2770 उड़ानें भरी.
