1. जिंगी का किला:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1677 में छत्रपति शिवाजी महाराज ने जिंगी का किला जीता था.
2. मल्हारराव होल्कर:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1766 में इंदौर के होल्कर वंश के प्रवर्तक मल्हारराव होल्कर का निधन हुआ था.
3. हिन्दी कवि सुमित्रानंदन पंत:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1900 में हिन्दी कवि सुमित्रानंदन पंत का जन्म अल्मोड़ा (अब बागेश्वर) ज़िले के कौसानी नामक ग्राम में हुआ था. जन्म के छह घंटे बाद ही उनकी माँ का निधन हो गया जिसके बाद उनका लालन-पालन उनकी दादी ने किया था. उनके बचपन का नाम गोसाईं दत्त था. हाईस्कूल में उन्होंने अपना नाम सुमित्रानंदन पंत रख लिया. सात वर्ष की उम्र में, जब वे चौथी कक्षा में ही पढ़ रहे थे, उन्होंने कविता लिखना शुरु कर दिया था. वर्ष 1918 के आसपास तक वे हिंदी के नवीन धारा के प्रवर्तक कवि के रूप में पहचाने लगे थे. इस दौर की उनकी कविताएं वीणा में संकलित हैं. वर्ष 1926 में उनका प्रसिद्ध काव्य संकलन ‘पल्लव’ प्रकाशित हुआ. हिंदी साहित्य सेवा के लिए उन्हें पद्मभूषण(1961), ज्ञानपीठ(1968), साहित्य अकादमी, तथा सोवियत लैंड नेहरू पुरस्कार जैसे उच्च श्रेणी के सम्मानों से अलंकृत किया गया.
4. मूर्तिकार रामकिंकर बैज:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1910 में पद्म भूषण से सम्मानित प्रसिद्ध मूर्तिकार रामकिंकर बैज का जन्म पश्चिम बंगाल के बांकुरा में एक आर्थिक और सामाजिक रूप से विपन्न परिवार में हुआ था.अपने दृढ़ संकल्प से वह भारतीय कला के प्रतिष्ठित प्रारंभिक आधुनिक कलाकारों में से एक बने.भारतीय कला में उनके अतुल्य योगदान के लिए वर्ष 1970 में भारत सरकार ने उन्हें पद्म भूषण से सम्मानित किया गया था.
5. अमर शहीद पीरू सिंह:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1918 में पीरू सिंह का जन्म हुआ था.
6. स्वतंत्रता सेनानी राजकुमार शुक्ल:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1929 में चंपारण सत्याग्रह और स्वतंत्रता सेनानी राजकुमार शुक्ल का निधन 54 वर्ष की आयु में मोतिहारी में हुआ था.
7. ‘क्रान्तिकारी विचारों के जनक’ विपिन चन्द्र पाल:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1932 में भारत में ‘क्रान्तिकारी विचारों के जनक’ विपिन चन्द्र पाल का निधन हुआ था.
8. आंध्रा राज्य के प्रथम मुख्यमंत्री टी० प्रकाशम:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1957 में स्वतंत्रता सेनानी और आंध्रा राज्य के प्रथम मुख्यमंत्री टी० प्रकाशम का निधन हुआ था.
9. उड़न परी पी० टी० उषा:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1964 में उड़न परी के नाम से प्रसिद्ध धाविका पी० टी० उषा का जन्म केरल के कोज़िकोड जिले के पय्योली ग्राम में हुआ था. उनका पूरा नाम पिलावुळ्ळकण्टि तेक्केपरम्पिल् उषा है. भारत के केरल राज्य की खिलाड़ी हैं.वर्ष 1976 में केरल राज्य सरकार ने महिलाओं के लिए एक खेल विद्यालय खोला और उषा को अपने ज़िले का प्रतिनिधित्व करने के लिए चुना गया. 90 दशक में जो सफलताएँ और ख्याति पी० टी० उषा ने प्राप्त की हैं वे उनसे पूर्व कोई भी भारतीय महिला एथलीट नहीं प्राप्त कर सकी. वर्तमान में भी उन्हें एशिया की सर्वश्रेष्ठ महिला एथलीट मानी जाती हैं. उषा एक धाविका के रूप में भारत के लिए केरल का और विश्व के लिए भारत का अमूल्य उपहार है. पी० टी० उषा को सर्वाधिक सहयोग अपने प्रशिक्षक ओ० पी० नम्बियार का मिला है.वर्ष 1985 में उन्हें पद्म श्री व अर्जुन पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया.
10. ब्रजभाषा के कवि गया प्रसाद शुक्ल:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1972 में ‘सनेही’ व ब्रजभाषा के प्रसिद्ध कवि गया प्रसाद शुक्ल का निधन नवासी वर्ष की आयु में कानपुर के उर्सला अस्पताल में हुआ था.
11. कमांडर एम० एस० कोहली:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1965 में कमांडर एम० एस० कोहली के नेतृत्व में पहला भारतीय दल माउंट एवरेस्ट सम्मेलन में पहुंचा था.
12. दूसरे हावड़ा ब्रिज का शिलान्यास:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1972 में दूसरे हावड़ा ब्रिज का शिलान्यास तत्कालीन प्रधानमंत्री इंदिरा गांधी ने किया था.
13. अंजुम चोपड़ा:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1977 मेंएक पूर्व भारतीय महिला क्रिकेट खिलाड़ी अंजुम चोपड़ा का जन्म हुआ था.
14. अभिनेता और गायक एनटी राम राव जूनियर:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1983 में भारतीय अभिनेता और गायक एनटी राम राव जूनियर का जन्म हुआ.
15. सबसे उम्रदराज़ महिला पर्वतारोही प्रेमलता अग्रवाल:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2011 में दुनिया के सबसे ऊंचे पर्वत शिखर माउंट एवरेस्ट पर चढ़ने वाली सबसे उम्रदराज़ भारतीय महिला प्रेमलता अग्रवाल (झारखंड की पर्वतारोही) होने का गौरव हासिल करते हुए पर्वतारोहण के क्षेत्र में एक नया इतिहास रचा.
16. ऑयल रिफ़ाइनरी देश को समर्पित:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2011में प्रधानमंत्री मनमोहन सिंह ने मध्य प्रदेश के बीना में हज़ारों करोड़ की लागत से बनी ऑयल रिफ़ाइनरी देश को समर्पित की. यह भारत पेट्रोलियम लिमिटेड, ओमान ऑयल कम्पनी तथा मध्य प्रदेश सरकार के प्रयासों से बनी विश्व स्तरीय परियोजना है.
17. मानव विज्ञानी और नारीवादी विद्वान लीला दुबे:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2012 में मानव विज्ञानी और नारीवादी विद्वान लीला दुबे का निधन 89 वर्ष की आयु में हुआ था.

3. Hindi poet Sumitranandan Pant:- On this day in the year 1900, Hindi poet Sumitranandan Pant was born in Kausani village of Almora (now Bageshwar) district. His mother died six hours after his birth, after which he He was brought up by his grandmother. His childhood name was Gosain Dutt. In high school, he changed his name to Sumitranandan Pant. At the age of seven, when he was studying in the fourth standard, he started writing poetry. By the year 1918, he was recognized as the originator poet of the new stream of Hindi. His poems of this period are compiled in Veena. In the year 1926, his famous poetry collection ‘Pallav’ was published. He was decorated with high-class honors like Padma Bhushan (1961), Jnanpith (1968), Sahitya Akademi, and Soviet Land Nehru Award for service to Hindi literature.
4. Sculptor Ramkinkar Baij:- On this day in the year 1910, the famous sculptor Ramkinkar Baij, who was awarded the Padma Bhushan, was born in Bankura, West Bengal, in an economically and socially poor family. With his determination, he became one of the eminent artists of Indian art. Became one of the early modern artists. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan by the Government of India in the year 1970 for his immense contribution to Indian art.
5. Amar Shaheed Piru Singh:- On this day in the year 1918, Piru Singh was born.

9. Udan Pari P.T. Usha:- On this day in the year 1964, the famous sprinter P.T. Usha, known as Udan Pari, was born in Payyoli village of Kozhikode district of Kerala. His full name is Pilavulkanti Tekkeparampil Usha. She is a sportsperson from the Indian state of Kerala. In the year 1976, the state government of Kerala opened a sports school for women, and Usha was selected to represent her district. The success and fame that PT Usha has achieved in the nineties, no Indian female athlete could achieve before that. Even at present, she is considered the best female athlete in Asia.
