- द्वितीय आंग्ल-मराठा युद्ध:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1803 में द्वितीय आंग्ल-मराठा युद्ध के अंतर्गत दिल्ली लड़ाई की शुरुआत की गयी थी.
- प्रथम विश्व धर्म सम्मेलन शिकागो:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1857 को शिकागो (अमेरिका) में आयोजित विश्व धर्म सम्मेलन में स्वामी विवेकानंद ने कट्टरता, सहिष्णुता और सभी धर्मों में निहित सच्चाई पर ऐतिहासिक भाषण दिया था.
- सुब्रह्मण्य भारती:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1882 में सुब्रह्मण्य भारती का जन्म गाँव एट्टियपुरम, तमिलनाडु में हुआ था. इन्हें महाकवि भरतियार के नाम से भी जाना जाता है. भारती एक जुझारू शिक्षक, देशप्रेमी और महान् कवि थे.
- स्वतंत्रता सेनानी विनोबा भावे:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1895 में स्वतंत्रता सेनानी विनोबा भावे का जन्म गाहोदे, गुजरात के एक कुलीन ब्राह्मण परिवार में हुआ था. उनका वास्तविक नाम विनायक नरहरि भावे था. गाँधी जी के उपदेशों ने भावे को भारतीय ग्रामीण जीवन के सुधार के लिए एक तपस्वी के रूप में जीवन व्यतीत करने के लिए प्रेरित किया था. विनोबा भावे भारत के एक सर्वाधिक जाने-माने समाज सुधारक एवं ‘भूदान यज्ञ’ नामक आन्दोलन के संस्थापक थे.
- मराठी साहित्यकार आत्माराम रावजी देशपांडे:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1901 में मराठी साहित्यकार आत्माराम रावजी देशपांडे का जन्म मुर्तजापुर, महाराष्ट्र में हुआ था.
- दक्षिण अफ़्रीका में सत्याग्रह आन्दोलन:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1906 में महात्मा गाँधी ने दक्षिण अफ़्रीका में सत्याग्रह आन्दोलन आरंभ किया था.
- क्रिकेटर लाला अमरनाथ:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1911 में अंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट में भारत की ओर से पहला शतक जमाने वाले क्रिकेटर लाला अमरनाथ का जन्म कपूरथला के एक कायस्थ परिवार में हुआ था. अमरनाथ ने अंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट में भारत की ओर से पहला शतक जमाया था. वे भारत के पहले आलराउंडर थे जिन्होंने बल्ले के अलावा गेंद से भी अपने विरोधियों की नाक में दम किया था. लाला अमरनाथ को वर्ष 1991 में खेल के क्षेत्र में योगदान के लिए पद्म भूषण से सम्मानित किया था.
- हिन्दी व राजस्थानी लेखक कन्हैयालाल सेठिया:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1919 में आधुनिक काल के हिन्दी व राजस्थानी लेखक कन्हैयालाल सेठिया का जन्म राजस्थान के चूरु जिले के सुजानगढ़ शहर में हुआ था. इनके पिता का नाम छगनमलजी सेठिया था तथा माता मनोहरी देवी थीं. कन्हैयालाल की प्रारम्भिक पढ़ाई कलकत्ता (वर्तमान कोलकाता) में हुई थी. कन्हैयालाल ने राजस्थान में सामंतवाद के ख़िलाफ़ इन्होंने जबरदस्त मुहिम चलायी थी और पिछड़े वर्ग को आगे लाने में महत्त्वपूर्ण योगदान दिया था.
- पहली बार जन गण मन गाया:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1942 में सुभाष चंद्र बोस और आजाद हिंद सेना ने राष्ट्रगान के रूप में पहली बार जन गण मन गाया था.
- राजनीतिज्ञ प्रह्लाद जोशी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1962 में राजनीतिज्ञ प्रह्लाद जोशी का जन्म हुआ था.

- गुरु नीम करोली बाबा:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1973 में गुरु नीम करोली बाबा का निधन हुआ था.
- अभिनेत्री ट्यूलिप जोशी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1972 में अभिनेत्री ट्यूलिप जोशी का जन्म मुंबई के एक गुजरती परिवार में हुआ था. जोशी की प्रारम्भिक शिक्षा जमनाबाई नर्सी स्कूल से पूरी की उसके बादउन्होंने अपने ग्रेजुएशन की पढ़ाई फ़ूड एंड विज्ञानं से विवेक कॉलेज से पूरी की. ट्यूलिप ने वर्ष 2000 में फेमिन मिस इंडिया प्रतियोगिता में हिस्सा लिया था. ट्यूलिप ने अपने फिल्मी कैरियर की शुरुआत यशराज बैनर की फिल्म मेरे यार की शादी से की थी.
- अभिनेत्री श्रेया सरन:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1982 में अभिनेत्री श्रेया सरन का जन्म उत्रराखण्ड के हरिद्वार में हुआ था. उनके पिता पुष्पेंद्र सरन, राज्य के स्वामित्व वाले भारत हेवी इलेक्ट्रिकल्स लिमिटेड के लिए काम करते थे, जबकि उनकी मां नीरजा सरन दिल्ली पब्लिक स्कूल में रसायन-विज्ञान की शिक्षिका थीं. श्रेया ने अपनी प्रारम्भिक शिक्षा दिल्ली पब्लिक स्कूल रानीपुर और हरिद्वार से पूरी की साथ ही उन्होंने स्कूली पढ़ाई खत्म होने के बाद श्रेया ने दिल्ली यूनिवर्सिटी के लेडी श्री राम कॉलेज से लिट्रेचर में स्नातक किया था. सरन ने में अपनी माँ से कथक डांस और राजस्थानी फोक डांस सीखा साथी उन्होंने कथक डांस में पारंगत होने के लिए शोवना नारयण से ट्रेनिंग ली. पढ़ाई के दौरान श्रेया को एक वीडियो एल्बम में थिरकती क्योँ हवा में काम करने का मौका मिला। इस एल्बम की शूटिंग बनारस के घाटों पर हुई थीं. श्रेया ने फ़िल्मों में अपने अभिनय कैरियर की शुरूआत उषा किरण मूवीज़ द्वारा निर्मित तेलुगू फ़िल्म इष्टम (2001) से की थी.

Lala Amarnath was awarded Padma Bhushan in the year 1991 for his contribution to the field of sports.

His father’s name was Chhaganmalji Sethia and his mother was Manohari Devi. Kanhaiyalal’s primary education was in Calcutta (present-day Kolkata). Kanhaiyalal had launched a tremendous campaign against feudalism in Rajasthan and had made an important contribution to bringing the backward classes forward.

His father, Pushpendra Saran, worked for the state-owned Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, while his mother, Neerja Saran, was a chemistry teacher at Delhi Public School. Shreya completed her primary education at Delhi Public School, Ranipur and Haridwar. After completing her schooling, Shreya graduated in Literature from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University. Saran learned Kathak dance and Rajasthani folk dance from her mother and took training from Shovana Narayan to become proficient in Kathak dance. While studying, Shreya got a chance to work on a video album titled Thirakti Kyun Hawa. The shooting of this album was done on the ghats of Banaras.
