सिक्खों के तीसरे गुरु गुरु अमर दास:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1574 में सिक्खों के तीसरे गुरु गुरु अमर दास का निधन हुआ था.
संगीतकार चेमबइ वैद्यनाथ भगवतार:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1895 में संगीतकार चेमबइ वैद्यनाथ भगवतार का जन्म हुआ था.
गौड़ीय वैष्णव गुरु तथा धर्मप्रचारक भक्तिवेदान्त स्वामी प्रभुपाद:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1896 में स्वामी प्रभुपाद का जन्म कलकत्ता के बंगाली क्षत्रिय स्वर्णकार परिवार में हुआ था. इनका पूरा नाम अभयचरण डे था.
भूगोलवेत्ता लक्ष्मी नारायण उपाध्याय:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1901 में भूगोलवेत्ता लक्ष्मी नारायण उपाध्याय का जन्म अलीगढ़ के एक संपन्न परिवार में हुआ था.

साहित्यकार राही मासूम रज़ा:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1926 में साहित्यकार राही मासूम रज़ा का जन्म गाजीपुर जिले के गंगौली गांव के एक सम्पन्न एवं सुशिक्षित शिया परिवार में हुआ था. हुआ था. राही की प्रारम्भिक शिक्षा ग़ाज़ीपुर में हुई थी. राही को बचपन में पैर में पोलियो हो जाने के कारण पढ़ाई कुछ सालों के लिए छूट गयी थी. इंटरमीडियट करने के बाद वह अलीगढ़ आ गये और उच्च शिक्षा अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय में हुई थी. राही के भीतर साम्यवादी दृष्टिकोण का विकास हुआ और वह भारतीय कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी के सदस्य भी बन गये थे. राही ने 300 फ़िल्मों की पटकथा और संवाद लिखे तथा दूरदर्शन के लिए 100 से अधिक धारावाहिक लिखे, जिनमें ‘महाभारत’ और ‘नीम का पेड़’ अविस्मरणीय हैं.
ग़ज़लकार दुष्यंत कुमार:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1933 में ग़ज़लकार दुष्यंत कुमार का जन्म बिजनौर जनपद (उत्तर प्रदेश) के ग्राम राजपुर नवादा में हुआ था. उन्होंने इलाहाबाद विश्वविद्यालय से शिक्षा प्राप्त करने के उपरांत कुछ दिनों तक आकाशवाणी, भोपाल में असिस्टेंट प्रोड्यूसर रहे थे. दुष्यन्त की कविता में ज़िन्दगी के सुख- दुःख का ब्यान है. बताते चलें कि, दुष्यंत के लेखन का स्वर सड़क से संसद तक गूँजता था.
इंडियन नेशनल आर्मी की स्थापना:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1942 में रास बिहारी बोस ने इंडियन नेशनल आर्मी की स्थापना जापान में की थी. इसका उद्देश्य द्वितीय विश्व युद्ध के दौरान अंग्रेजों के खिलाफ लड़ना था.
राजनीतिज्ञ पी. ए. संगमा:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1947 में राजनीतिज्ञ पी. ए. संगमा का जन्म मेघालय राज्य के पश्चिमी गारो हिल ज़िले के चपाहटी गांव में हुआ था.

रेमन मैग्सेसे पुरस्कार:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1997 में साहित्यकार महाश्वेता देवी तथा पर्यावदणविद एम.सी. मेहता को 1997 का रेमन मैग्सेसे पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया था.
‘लोगो’ बदला:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2008 में यूनियन बैंक ऑफ़ इण्डिया ने अपना ‘लोगो’ बदला था.
वायस एडमिरल निर्मल कुमार वर्मा:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2009 में वायस एडमिरल निर्मल कुमार वर्मा को भारतीय नौसेना के प्रमुख नियुक्त किया गया था. उन्होंने एडमिरल सुरेश मेहता का स्थान लिया था.
लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल पी. सी. भारद्वाज:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2009 में लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल पी. सी. भारद्वाज सेना के उपप्रमुख बने थे.
राज्य सरकार को नोटिस:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2009 में सर्वोच्च न्यायालय में जसवंत सिंह की किताब पर गुजरात में प्रतिबंध लगाए जाने के मामले में राज्य सरकार को नोटिस दिया था.
