1. विजय हासिल की:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1600 में मुगल बादशाह अकबर ने अहमदनगर पर विजय हासिल की थी.
2. कैद से फरार:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1666 में शिवाजी ने आगरा में फलों की टोकरी में छिपकर औरंगजेब की कैद से फरार हुए थे. बताते चलें कि, शिवाजी महाराज ने औरंगजेब की सुरक्षा व्यवस्था को चकमा देकर आगरा की कैद से मुक्ति पा ली थी और 91 दिन की यात्रा कर महाराष्ट्र के रायगढ़ किले में पहुंच गए थे. उनकी इस यात्रा में उत्तर भारत के तत्कालीन भारतीय शासकों और आम लोगों ने उनकी मदद की थी.
3. टकसाल में बना:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1757 में कलकत्ता में ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी का पहला एक रुपए का सिक्का टकसाल में बना था. बताते चलें कि, बंगाल के नवाब के साथ एक संधि के तहत ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी ने साल 1757 में यह टकसाल बनाई थी. जिसके बाद ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी ने कोलकात्ता में रुपए का पहला सिक्का बनाया था और कंपनी द्वारा बनाए गए पहले सिक्के को बंगाल के मुगल प्रांत में चलाया गया था.
4. क्रांतिकारी नेता एस. सत्यमूर्ति:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1887 में क्रांतिकारी नेता एस. सत्यमूर्ति का जन्म तमिलनाडु के तिरुचिराप्पल्ली ज़िले में पुदुकोटाई नामक स्थान पर हुआ था. पुदुकोटाई उन दिनों एक छोटी-सी रियासत थी जहाँ सत्यमूर्ति के पिता सुंदर शास्त्री वकालत करते थे. एस. सत्यमूर्ति भी बचपन से ही अपने पिता के साथ विभिन्न सभाओं में जाते और करीब, सात वर्ष की अवस्था में उन्होंने पहला भाषण दिया था. एस. सत्यमूर्ति ने पुदुकोटाई के राजा कालेज से उन्होंने बी. ए. किया और फिर मद्रास के क्रिश्चियन कालेज में भर्ती हो गए. उन दिनों बंग भंग के कारण सारे देश में एक आंदोलन चल रहा था. बंग-भंग के विरोध में अपने कालेज में हड़ताल करने का श्रेय भी सत्यमूर्ति का ही था. एस. सत्यमूर्ति वर्ष 1919 में कांग्रेस में सक्रिय रूप से शामिल हुए और वर्ष 1923 में स्वराज पार्टी के उम्मीदवार के रूप में मद्रास विधानसभा में चुने गये. वर्ष 1940 में इन्होंने व्यक्तिगत सत्याग्रह में भाग लिया, जिसमें इन्हें गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया.
5. साहित्यकार हरिशंकर शर्मा:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1891 में साहित्यकार हरिशंकर शर्मा का जन्म उत्तर प्रदेश में अलीगढ़ जनपद के हरदुआगंज कस्बे में हुआ था.उनके पिता का नाम पंडित नाथूराम शंकर शर्मा था. बचपन से ही उन्हें घर में साहित्यिक वातारण मिला था, जिसका पंडित जी पर विशेष रूप से प्रभाव पड़ा था. हरिशंकर शर्मा की शिक्षा विधिवत् किसी स्कूल अथवा काँलेज में नहीं हुई थी बल्कि, घर पर रह कर ही उन्होंने उर्दू, फ़ारसी, गुजराती तथा मराठी आदि भाषाओं का अच्छा ज्ञान प्राप्त कर लिया था.
6. साहित्यकार हज़ारी प्रसाद द्विवेदी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1907 में साहित्यकार हज़ारी प्रसाद द्विवेदी का जन्म बलिया ज़िले के ‘आरत दुबे का छपरा’ गाँव के एक प्रतिष्ठित सरयूपारीण ब्राह्मण कुल में हुआ था. इनके पिता पण्डित अनमोल द्विवेदी संस्कृत के प्रकाण्ड पंडित थे वहीं, द्विवेदी जी के प्रपितामह ने काशी में कई वर्षों तक रहकर ज्योतिष का गम्भीर अध्ययन किया था. द्विवेदी जी की माता भी प्रसिद्ध पण्डित कुल की कन्या थीं. इस तरह बालक द्विवेदी को संस्कृत के अध्ययन का संस्कार विरासत में ही मिल गया था. वर्ष 1930 में इंटर की परीक्षा उत्तीर्ण करने बाद द्विवेदी जी प्राध्यापक होकर शान्ति निकेतन चले गये. वर्ष 1940 -50 तक हज़ारी प्रसाद वहाँ पर हिन्दी भवन के निर्देशक के पद पर भी काम किया. द्विवेदी जी के निबंधों के विषय भारतीय संस्कृति, इतिहास, ज्योतिष, साहित्य, विविध धर्मों और संप्रदायों का विवेचन आदि है.
7. शास्त्रीय गायक अब्दुल राशिद ख़ान:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1908 में शास्त्रीय गायक अब्दुल राशिद ख़ान का जन्म रायबरेली, उत्तर प्रदेश में हुआ था.
8. न्यायाधीश बदरुद्दीन तैयब:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1909 में न्यायाधीश बदरुद्दीन तैयब का निधन हुआ था.
9. कथाकार और एकांकीकार आरसी प्रसाद सिंह:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1911 में कथाकार और एकांकीकार आरसी प्रसाद सिंह का जन्म बिहार के समस्तीपुर ज़िला में रोसड़ा रेलवे स्टेशन से आठ किलोमीटर की दूरी पर स्थित बागमती नदी के किनारे एक गाँव ‘एरौत’ (पूर्व नाम ऐरावत) में हुआ था. आरसी प्रसाद की शिक्षा पूर्ण करने के बाद साहित्य लेखन की ओर रुचि बढ़ी. उनकी साहित्यिक रुचि एवं लेखन शैली से प्रभावित होकर रामवृक्ष बेनीपुरी ने उन्हें “युवक” समाचार पत्र में लेखन का अवसर प्रदान किया था. आरसी प्रसाद ने साहित्य से जुड़े रहने के अलावा राजनीतिक रूप से भी जागरूक एवं निर्भीक व्यक्ति थे. उन्होंने अपनी लेखनी से नेताओं पर कटाक्ष करते हुए उन्होंने लिखा है कि- “बरसाती मेंढक से फूले, पीले-पीले गदराए, गाँव-गाँव से लाखों नेता खद्दरपोश निकल आए.”
10. नवें राष्ट्रपति शंकर दयाल शर्मा:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1918 में भारत के नवें राष्ट्रपति शंकर दयाल शर्मा का जन्म भोपाल में ‘दाई का मौहल्ला’ में हुआ था. इनके पिता का नाम ‘पण्डित खुशीलाल शर्मा’ था और वह एक प्रसिद्ध वैद्य थे वही, इनकी माता का नाम ‘सुभद्रा देवी’ था. शंकरदयाल की प्रारंभिक शिक्षा स्थानीय ‘दिगम्बर जैन स्कूल’ में हासिल की थी. उन्होंने ‘सेंट जोंस कॉलेज’, आगरा और बाद में इलाहाबाद विश्वविद्यालय और लखनऊ विश्वविद्यालय से एल एल.बी. की उपाधि प्राप्त की थी. उसके बाद उच्च शिक्षा के लिए इंग्लैण्ड गए. वहाँ उन्होंने क़ानून की शिक्षा ग्रहण की और पी.एच.डी. की उपाधि प्राप्त की. स्वतंत्रता संग्राम में और भोपाल रियासत के विलय के आन्दोलन में आपने सक्रिय भाग लिया और जेल की यातनाएँ सहीं. देश के स्वतंत्र होने पर शंकरदयाल शर्मा वर्ष 1952 -56 तक भोपाल राज्यसभा के सदस्य चुने गए और प्रथम मुख्यमंत्री भी बने थे.
11. साहित्यकार शिव प्रसाद सिंह:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1928 में साहित्यकार शिव प्रसाद सिंह का जन्म बनारस के जलालपुर गांव में एक ज़मींदार परिवार में हुआ था.
12. महाजती सदन का शिलान्यास:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1939 में गुरुवर रवींद्र नाथ टैगोर ने कलकत्ता में सुभाष चंद्र बोस महाजती सदन का शिलान्यास किया था.
13. बलिया स्वतंत्र:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1942 में चित्तू पांडे की अगुवाई में बलिया स्वतंत्र हुआ था.
14. टुकडी को खदेडा गया:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1944 में भारत से जापान की अंतिम सैन्य टुकडी को खदेडा गया था.
15. राजधानी बनी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1949 में भुवनेश्वर ओडिशा की राजधानी बनी थी.
16. सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता सुधा मूर्ति:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1950 में सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता सुधा मूर्ति (इन्फोसिस फाउंडेशन के संस्थापक एन आर नारायणमूर्ति की पत्नी) का जन्म कर्नाटक के शिगगाँव में हुआ था.
17. अभिनेता और निर्माता उत्पल दत्त:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1993 में अभिनेता और निर्माता उत्पल दत्त का निधन हुआ था.
18. मदद पर रोक लगाने की:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1999 में भारत की परमाणु नीति मसौदे पर नाराज़ जी-8 ने सभी तरह की मदद पर रोक लगाने की घोषणा की थी.

2. Escaped from prison: – On this day in the year 1666, Shivaji escaped from Aurangzeb’s prison by hiding in a fruit basket in Agra. Let us tell that, Shivaji Maharaj got rid of the imprisonment of Agra by dodging the security system of Aurangzeb and after traveling for 91 days reached Raigad Fort in Maharashtra. 3. Minted: – On this day in the year 1757, the first rupee coin of the East India Company was minted in Calcutta. 4. Revolutionary leader S. Satya Murthy: – On this day in the year 1887, revolutionary leader S. Satyamurthy was born at a place called Pudukottai in Tiruchirappalli district of Tamil Nadu. Pudukottai was a small princely state in those days where Satyamurthy’s father Sundar Shastri used to practice law. S. Satyamurthy also accompanied his father to various meetings since childhood and at the age of seven, he gave his first speech. S. Satyamoorthy did his B.A. from Raja College, Pudukottai. A. Did it and then got admitted to the Christian College in Madras. In those days a movement was going on in the whole country due to the partition of the country. The credit for going on strike in his college in protest against the partition was also of Satyamurthy. S. Satyamurthy actively joined the Congress in the year 1919 and was elected to the Madras Legislative Assembly in the year 1923 as a Swaraj Party candidate. In the year 1940, he participated in individual Satyagraha, in which he was arrested.
5. Writer Harishankar Sharma:- On this day in the year 1891, writer Harishankar Sharma was born in Harduaganj town of Aligarh district in Uttar Pradesh. His father’s name was Pandit Nathuram Shankar Sharma. Since childhood, he had got a literary environment at home, which had a special impact on Pandit Ji. Hari Shankar Sharma was not formally educated in any school or college, but by staying at home, he acquired a good knowledge of languages like Urdu, Persian, Gujarati, and Marathi.

Litterateur Hazari Prasad Dwivedi:- On this day in the year 1907, litterateur Hazari Prasad Dwivedi was born in a prestigious Saryuparin Brahmin clan of ‘Arat Dubey ka Chhapra’ village of Ballia district. His father Pandit Anmol Dwivedi was a scholar of Sanskrit, while Dwivedi ji’s great-grandfather had studied astrology seriously after staying in Kashi for many years. Dwivedi Ji’s mother was also the daughter of a famous Pandit family. In this way, child Dwivedi had inherited the culture of Sanskrit study. After passing the intermediate examination in the year 1930, Dwivedi ji went to Shantiniketan after becoming a professor. Till the year 1940-50, Hazari Prasad also worked as the director of Hindi Bhavan there. The subjects of Dwivedi Ji’s essays are Indian culture, history, astrology, literature, interpretation of various religions and sects, etc.

Former name Airavat). After completing the education of RC Prasad, interest in writing literature increased.
