- संत रामकृष्ण परमहंस देव:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1886 में संत रामकृष्ण परमहंस देव का निधन गोधूलि वेला में हुआ था.
- कवयित्री सुभद्रा कुमारी चौहान:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1904 में कवयित्री सुभद्रा कुमारी चौहान का जन्म निहालपुर, इलाहाबाद में हुआ था. उनके पिता का नाम ‘ठाकुर रामनाथ सिंह’ था. उन्होंने ‘क्रास्थवेट गर्ल्स कॉलेज से पढ़ाई की. सुभद्रा कुमारी की काव्य प्रतिभा बचपन से ही सामने आ गई थी. वर्ष 1913 में नौ वर्ष की आयु में सुभद्रा की पहली कविता प्रयाग से निकलने वाली पत्रिका ‘मर्यादा’ में प्रकाशित हुई थी. बताते चलें कि, सुभद्रा और महादेवी वर्मा दोनों बचपन की सहेलियाँ थीं और दोनों ने एक-दूसरे की कीर्ति से सुख पाया. बाल्यकाल में ही सुभद्रा का विवाह होने के कारण उनकी पढ़ाई छूट गई थी. विवाह के डेढ़ वर्ष होने के बाद सुभद्रा कुमारी चौहान सत्याग्रह में शामिल हो गई. गृहस्थी और नन्हे-नन्हे बच्चों का जीवन सँवारते हुए उन्होंने समाज और राजनीति की सेवा की. उन्होंने जीवन के अनेक महत्त्वपूर्ण वर्ष जेलों में ही बिताए थे. राष्ट्रीय स्वतंत्रता संग्राम में सक्रिय भूमिका निभाते हुए, उस आनन्द और जोश में सुभद्रा जी ने जो कविताएँ लिखीं, वे उस आन्दोलन में एक नयी प्रेरणा भर देती हैं.
- प्रत्यक्ष कारवाई दिवस का ऐलान:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1946 में मुस्लिम लीग ने प्रत्यक्ष कारवाई दिवस का एलान किया, ताकि अलग मुस्लिम देश के लिए उनकी माँग बनी रहे. इस दौरान हुई हिंसा में कोलकाता में करीब 5000 लोग मारे गये और 15000 लोग घायल हुए थे.
- अभिनेता सैफ़ अली ख़ान:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1970 में अभिनेता सैफ़ अली ख़ान का जन्म दिल्ली में हुआ था. उनके पिता मंसूर अली खान पटौदी मशहूर भारतीय क्रिकेटर थे और उनकी माँ शर्मिला टैगोर जो कि अपने समय की चर्चित अभिनेत्री रही हैं. सैफ ने अपनी पढ़ाई लारेंस स्कूल, सनावार से पूरी की है. इसके बाद सैफ़ इंग्लैंड जाकर लाॅकर्स पार्क स्कूल, हर्टफोर्डशायर और विंचेस्टर कॉलेज से पढ़ाई पूरी की. सैफ ने अपने फ़िल्मी कैरियर की शुरूआत फिल्म ‘परंपरा’ से हुई थी. उनकी अगली फिल्म ‘आशिक आवारा’ के लिए उन्हें फिल्मफेयर की तरफ से सर्वश्रेष्ठ नवोदित अभिनेता का पुरस्कार भी मिलाा था. सैफ की पहली शादी अमृता सिंह से हुई थी जो कि उनसे 12 साल बड़ी थीं जबकि, उनकी दूसरी शादी 10 साल छोटी करीना कपूर से की.
- अभिनेत्री मनीषा कोईराला:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1970 में अभिनेत्री मनीषा कोईराला का जन्म नेपाल के काठमांडू में हुआ था. उनके पिता का नाम प्रकाश कोइराला और माँ का नाम सुषमा कोइराला हैं. नेपाल के पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री बिश्वेश्वर प्रसाद कोइराला की नातिन हैं मनीषा कोईराला. मनीषा की प्रारम्भिक पढाई वाराणसी के वंसत कन्या महाविद्यालय से हुई हैं. उसके बाद वह सेकंडरी की पढ़ाई करने के लिए आर्मी स्कूल धौलकुआं नई दिल्ली से पूरी की. बचपन से डॉक्टर बनकर देश सेवा की सपने देखने वाली आज मॉडल व अभिनेत्री हैं. मनीषा के फ़िल्मी कैरियर की शुरुआत वर्ष 1991 में सुभाष घई द्वारा निर्देशित फिल्म सौदागर से हुई थी. ज्ञात है कि, इस फिल्म में दो लीजेंड कलाकार राज कुमार- दिलीप कुमार एक साथ बड़े पर्दे पर दिखाई दिए थे. और यह फिल्म ब्लॉकबस्टर हिट फिल्म साबित हुई थी.

- पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री का निधन:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2018 में पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री और भारतरत्न से सम्मानित अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी का निधन हुआ था.
