- सिवाणा पर आक्रमण:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1306 में अलाउद्दीन ख़िलजी ने सिवाणा पर आक्रमण किया, तब यह दुर्ग कान्हड़देव के भतीजे चौहान सरदार शीतलदेव के अधिकार में था.
- निर्ममतापूर्ण हत्या की:-आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1757 में बंगाल के अंतिम नवाब सिराज उद्दौला की उनकी शरण में रह रहे एक व्यक्ति मोहम्मद बेग ने निर्ममतापूर्ण हत्या की.
- चन्दूलाल माधवलाल त्रिवेदी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1893 में चन्दूलाल माधवलाल त्रिवेदी का जन्म और पालन-पोषण कैरा (अब खेड़ा) जिले के कपडवंज में हुआ था. वो आंध्र प्रदेश के पहले राज्यपाल थे. बॉम्बे विश्वविद्यालय और ऑक्सफोर्ड के सेंट जॉन्स कॉलेज में अपनी पढ़ाई पूरी करने के बाद उन्होंने वर्ष 1916 में भारतीय सिविल सेवा परीक्षा में सफलतापूर्वक भाग लिया और अगले अक्टूबर में सेवा में नियुक्त हुए.
- कहानीकार कालिंदी चरण पाणिग्रही:-आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1901 में उड़िया कवि, उपन्यासकार, कहानीकार, नाटककार और निबंधकार कालिंदी चरण पाणिग्रही का जन्म हुआ था.
- भूवैज्ञानिक सर्वेक्षण विभाग:-आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1916 में भारतीय भूवैज्ञानिक सर्वेक्षण विभाग की स्थापना हुई थी.
- राजनीतिज्ञ अशोक घोष:-आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1921 में अखिल भारतीय फॉरवर्ड ब्लॉक राजनीतिक दल के वरिष्ठ नेता अशोक घोष का जन्म देवभूमि उत्तरांचल के गढ़वाल क्षेत्र में हुआ था.
- योगाचार्य स्वामी राम:-आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1925 में योगाचार्य स्वामी राम का जन्म उत्तरांचल सदा से दिव्य योगियों एवं सन्तों की भूमि रही है.योग में रुचि होने के कारण स्वामी राम ने अनेक संन्यासियों के पास जाकर योग की कठिन साधना की। व्यक्तिगत प्रयास एवं गुरु कृपा से इन्हें अनेक सिद्धियाँ प्राप्त हुईं. योग द्वारा शरीर का ताप बढ़ाने एवं घटाने, हृदय की गति घटाने और 20 मिनट तक बिल्कुल रोक देने, दूर बैठे अपने भक्त के स्वास्थ्य को ठीक करना आदि को देखकर विदेशी विशेषज्ञ अपना सब ज्ञान और विज्ञान भूल गये.
- राजनीतिज्ञ बाबूलाल गौर:-आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1930 में राजनीतिज्ञ बाबूलाल गौर का जन्म नौगीर ग्राम, प्रतापगढ़ ज़िला (उत्तर प्रदेश) में हुआ था. इनके पिता का नाम श्री रामप्रसाद था। बाबूलाल गौर ने अपनी शैक्षणिक योग्यताओं में बी.ए. और एल.एल.बी. की डिग्रियाँ प्राप्त की हैं. वे मध्य प्रदेश के भूतपूर्व मुख्यमंत्री हैं, जिनका प्रदेश की राजनीति में प्रमुख स्थान रहा है. बाबूलाल गौर सन 1946 से ही ‘राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघ’ से जुड़ गए थे. उन्होंने दिल्ली तथा पंजाब आदि राज्यों में आयोजित सत्याग्रहों में भी भाग लिया था। श्री गौर आपात काल के दौरान 19 माह की जेल भी काट चुके हैं.
- क्रांतिकारी असित भट्टाचार्य:-आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1934 में क्रांतिकारी असित भट्टाचार्य का निधन हुआ था.
- बोस गिरफ्तार:-आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1940 में क्रांतिकारी नेता सुभाष चंद्र बोस को गिरफ्तार कर कलकत्ता भेजा गया था.
- अभिनेत्री आशालता वाबगांवकर:-आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1941 में मराठी और हिंदी फिल्मों की आशालता वाबगांवकर का जन्म गोवा में हुआ था. आशालता वाबगांवकर की शुरुआती शिक्षा मुंबई के सेंट कोलंबो हाईस्कूल, गिरगांव में हुई थी. 12वीं के बाद कुछ समय तक उन्होंने मंत्रालय में पार्ट टाइम काम भी किया. इसी दौरान उन्होंने आर्ट में ग्रेजुएशन और पोस्ट ग्रेजुएशन की पढ़ाई पूरी की. उन्होंने नाथीबाई दामोदर ठाकरे महिला विश्वविद्यालय से मनोविज्ञान में एमए किया था. उन्होंने ऑल इंडिया रेडियो के मुंबई केंद्र पर कुछ कोंकणी गाने भी गाए.
- जनकवि आलोक धन्वा:-आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1948 में जनकवि आलोक धन्वा का जन्म मुंगेर (बिहार) में हुआ था. धन्वा हिन्दी के उन बड़े कवियों में हैं, जिन्होंने 70 के दशक में कविता को एक नई पहचान दी.
- अभिनेता अंजना श्रीवास्तव:-आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1948 में अभिनेता अंजना श्रीवास्तव का जन्म कलकत्ता (बंगाल) में हुआ था.
- स्वतंत्रता सेनानी यूसुफ़ मेहरअली:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1950 में स्वतंत्रता सेनानी तथा समाज सुधारक यूसुफ़ मेहरअली का निधन हुआ था.
- पार्श्वगायक मोहम्मद अज़ीज़:-आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1954 में पार्श्वगायक मोहम्मद अज़ीज़ का जन्म पश्चिम बंगाल में हुआ था. उनका वास्तविक नाम ‘सैयद मोहम्मद अज़ीज़-अन-नवी’ था.मोहम्मद अज़ीज़, अपने समय बेहद प्रसिद्ध गायक मोहम्मद रफ़ी के गानों के बहुत बड़े फैन थे. हालांकि मोहम्मद अज़ीज़ ने रफ़ी से कोई प्रशिक्षण नहीं लिया था, लेकिन सुन-सुन कर सीखा और कॅरियर में एक समय ऐसा भी आया था, जब लोग उनको मोहम्मद रफ़ी का उत्तराधिकारी कहने लगे थे. मोहम्मद अज़ीज़ ने कोलकाता के गालिब रेस्टोरेंट में एक गायक के तौर पर अपना कॅरियर शुरू किया था. उनकी पहली हिंदी फिल्म ‘अम्बर’ थी. मोहम्मद अज़ीज़ ने पहली बार अमिताभ बच्चन की फिल्म‘ ‘मर्द’ के लिए ‘मर्द टांगे वाला…’ गीत गाया था.
- लोकसभा के सदस्य तूफ़ानी सरोज :-आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1956 में लोकसभा के सदस्य तूफ़ानी सरोज का जन्म हुआ था.
- अभिनेता पवन मल्होत्रा:-आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1958 में अभिनेता पवन मल्होत्रा का जन्म दिल्ली में हुआ था. उन्होंने दिल्ली यूनिवर्सिटी से आर्ट्स में स्नातक की पढ़ाई की है. उसके वह दिल्ली थिएटर से जुड़ गए. वंही से उन्हें सीधे टीवी दुनिया में एंट्री मिल गयी. वर्ष 1986 में पवन को उनका पहला शो दूरदर्शन का नुक्क्ड़ मिला जिसमे उन्होंने सईद का किरदार निभाया था. उन्होंने कई सालों तक बतौर सहायक निर्देशक बुद्धदेव दासगुप्ता, सईद अख्तर मिर्जा श्याम बेनेगल दीपा मेहता के साथ काम किया.
