आज 14 अगस्त 2024 है लेकिन, 14 अगस्त की याद आते ही मन सिहर जाता है. 77 वर्ष पूर्व हुई घटना ने दिल को झकझोर दिया और उसके गहरे जख्म आज भी नासूर बनकर चुभते रहते हैं.
अंग्रजों की एक शर्त ने भारतवर्ष के टुकड़े-टुकड़े कर दिया साथ ही लहुलुहान हुई धरती आज भी रक्तरंजित हो रही है. बंटबारे की एक शर्त ने धर्म और मजहब को भी बाँट दिया जो कल तक अपने थे आज पराये ही नहीं जान के दुश्मन भी बन गए.
ब्रिटिश औपनिवेशिक शासन ने आजादी की कीमत सिर्फ लकीर खीचकर ही नहीं किया बल्कि लोगों के दिलों व भावनाओं को भी बाँट दिया साथ ही एक ऐसा नासूर दिया जिसके जख्म आज भी हरे के हरे हैं.
बताते चलें कि, द्वितीय विश्व युद्ध के बाद, ब्रिटिश सरकार पर भारत को आजाद करने का दबाव बढ़ा. बढ़ते साम्प्रदायिक तनाव और हिंसा के कारण ब्रिटिश सरकार ने भारतीय उपमहाद्वीप को दो अलग-अलग देशों में विभाजित करने का निर्णय लिया. लॉर्ड माउंटबेटन, जो भारत के अंतिम वायसराय थे, ने 3 जून 1947 को विभाजन की योजना की घोषणा की. इस योजना के तहत, भारत और पाकिस्तान को दो स्वतंत्र राष्ट्र के रूप में मान्यता दी गई.
विभाजन विभीषिका स्मृति दिवस का आयोजन पहली बार 2021 में हुआ था, और तब से इसे राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर मान्यता प्राप्त है. यह दिन 1947 में भारत के विभाजन के दौरान हुई त्रासदी और उस समय के दौरान हुए बलिदानों को याद करने के लिए मनाया जाता है. विभाजन के समय, लाखों लोग बेघर हो गए थे, और कई ने अपनी जान गंवाई थी.
यह दिवस हमें यह याद दिलाता है कि देश की आज़ादी के लिए न केवल संघर्ष किया गया था, बल्कि उस संघर्ष में कई लोगों ने अपार पीड़ा झेली थी. यह दिन देश की एकता, अखंडता, और शांति को बनाए रखने के संकल्प का भी प्रतीक है.

Today is 14 August 2024, but the mind shivers as soon as one remembers 14 August. The incident that happened 77 years ago shook the heart and its deep wounds still sting like a sore.
A condition of the British broke India into pieces and the blood-soaked land is still blood-stained. A condition of partition also divided religions and sects, who was ours till yesterday, today not only became strangers but also mortal enemies.
The British colonial rule not only paid the price of independence by drawing lines but also divided the hearts and emotions of the people and gave a sore whose wounds are still fresh.
Let us tell you that, after the Second World War, the pressure on the British government to free India increased. Due to the rising communal tension and violence, the British government decided to partition the Indian subcontinent into two separate countries. Lord Mountbatten, who was the last Viceroy of India, announced the plan of partition on 3 June 1947. Under this plan, India and Pakistan were recognized as two independent nations.
Partition Horrors Remembrance Day was first organized in 2021, and since then it has been recognized at the national level. The day is observed to remember the tragedy that took place during the partition of India in 1947 and the sacrifices made during that time. At the time of partition, millions of people were rendered homeless, and many lost their lives.
This day reminds us that not only was the freedom of the country fought for, but many people suffered immense pain in that struggle. The day also symbolizes the resolve to maintain the unity, integrity, and peace of the country.
