सत्संग के दौरान एक भक्त ने महाराजजी से पूछा कि, महाराजजी चैत्र कृष्ण पक्ष में जो एकादशी होती है उसका क्या महत्व है ! और उसकी कथा क्या है ! साथ ही महाराजजी यह भी बताएं कि, इस एकादशी को करने से क्या फल मिलता है…?
वालव्याससुमनजीमहाराज कहते है कि, हिन्दू पंचांग के अनुसार फाल्गुन का महीना साल का अंतिम महीना होता है और नये साल की शुरुआत चैत के महीने से होती है. नये साल का शुभारम्भ चित्रा नक्षत्र में होती है इसीलिए वर्ष के पहले महीने को नक्षत्र नाम “चित्रा” के कारण चैत्र कहलाता है. हिन्दू पंचांग के अनुसार चैत्र का महीना बड़ा ही पावन महीना होता है. वालव्याससुमनजीमहाराज कहते है कि, अर्जुन ने भी यही सवाल श्यामसुंदर कमलनयन भगवान श्रीकृष्ण से पूछा! तब कमलनयन श्यामसुन्दर ने कहा कि, हे अर्जुन चैत्र कृष्ण पक्ष में जो एकादशी होती उसे पापमोचनी एकादशी के नाम से जानते हैं. हे अर्जुन, मनुष्य के जीवनकाल के दौरान जाने-अनजाने जो पाप हो जाते है उन पापो से मुक्ति प्राप्त करने के लिए इस व्रत को किया जाता है.
वालव्याससुमनजीमहाराज कहते है कि, भविष्योत्तर पुराण में पापमोचनी व्रत की विस्तृत चर्चा की गई है. इस व्रत में भगवान विष्णु के चतुर्भुज रूप की पूजा होती है और इस व्रत को करने से समस्त पाप नष्ट हो जाते हैं. इस व्रत को करने वाले साधक को चाहिए की पूजा के पश्चात भगवान के समक्ष बैठकर भगवद कथा का पाठ करना चाहिए.
पूजन सामाग्री :-
वेदी,कलश,सप्तधान,पंच पल्लव,रोली, गोपी चन्दन, गंगा जल, दूध, दही, गाय के घी का दीपक, सुपाड़ी, विल्वपत्र, भांग, धतुरा, मोगरे की अगरबत्ती, ऋतू फल, फुल, आंवला, अनार, लौंग, नारियल, नीबूं, नवैध, केला और तुलसी पत्र व मंजरी.
व्रत विधि:-
सबसे पहले आपको एकादशी के दिन सुबह उठ कर स्नान करना चाहिए और व्रत का संकल्प लेना चाहिए. उसके बाद भगवान विष्णु की मूर्ति या चित्र की स्थापना की जाती है. उसके बाद भगवान विष्णु की पूजा के लिए धूप, दीप, नारियल और पुष्प का प्रयोग करना चाहिए. अंत में भगवान विष्णु के स्वरूप का स्मरण करते हुए ध्यान लगायें, उसके बाद विष्णु सहस्त्रनाम का पाठ करके, कथा पढ़ते हुए विधिपूर्वक पूजन करें. ध्यान दें…. एकादशी की रात्री को जागरण अवश्य ही करना चाहिए, दुसरे दिन द्वादशी के दिन सुबह ब्राह्मणो को अन्न दान व दक्षिणा देकर इस व्रत को संपन्न करना चाहिए.
कथा:-
लोमश ऋषि ने राजा मान्धाता को एक कहानी सुनाई कि चैत्ररथ नामक सुन्दर वन में च्यवन ऋषि के पुत्र मेधावी ऋषि तपस्या में लीन थे. इसी वन में एक दिन मंजुघोषा नामक अप्सरा की नज़र ऋषि पर पड़ी तो वह उनपर मोहित हो गयी और उन्हें अपनी ओर आकर्षित करने हेतु यत्न करने लगी. संयोगवश कामदेव भी उसी समय उधर से ही गुजर रहे थे कि, उनकी नज़र अप्सरा पर गयी, और वह उसकी मनोभावना को समझते हुए उसकी सहायता करने लगे. अप्सरा अपने यत्न में सफल हुई और मेधावी ऋषि कामपीड़ित हो गये.
काम के वश में होकर मेधावी ऋषि शिव तपस्या का व्रत भूल गये और अप्सरा के साथ रमण करने लगे. कई वर्षों के बाद जब उनकी चेतना जागी, तो उन्हें एहसास हुआ कि वह शिव की तपस्या से विरक्त हो चुके हैं और उन्हें उस अप्सरा पर बहुत क्रोध हुआ साथ ही तपस्या भंग करने का दोषी जानकर ऋषि ने अप्सरा को श्राप दे दिया कि, तुम पिशाचिनी बन जाओ. श्राप से दु:खी होकर वह ऋषि के पैरों पर गिर पड़ी और श्राप से मुक्ति के लिए अनुनय करने लगी. तब मेधावी ऋषि ने तब उस अप्सरा को विधि सहित चैत्र कृष्ण एकादशी का व्रत करने के लिए कहा. चुकीं, भोग में निमग्न रहने के कारण ऋषि का तेज भी लोप हो गया था अत: ऋषि ने भी इस एकादशी का व्रत किया, जिससे उनके पाप नष्ट हो गये और अप्सरा भी इस व्रत के प्रभाव से पिशाच योनि से मुक्त हो गयी और उसे सुन्दर रूप प्राप्त हुआ और वो स्वर्ग के लिए प्रस्थान कर गयी.
एकादशी का फल:-
एकादशी प्राणियों के परम लक्ष्य, भगवद भक्ति, को प्राप्त करने में सहायक होती है. यह दिन प्रभु की पूर्ण श्रद्धा से सेवा करने के लिए अति शुभकारी एवं फलदायक माना गया है. इस दिन व्यक्ति इच्छाओं से मुक्त हो कर यदि शुद्ध मन से भगवान की भक्तिमयी सेवा करता है तो वह अवश्य ही प्रभु की कृपापात्र बनता है.

Walvyassumanji Maharaj says that according to the Hindu calendar, the month of Phalgun is the last month of the year and the new year begins with the month of Chait. The beginning of the new year is in Chitra Nakshatra, that is why the first month of the year is called Chaitra because of the Nakshatra name “Chitra”. According to the Hindu calendar, the month of Chaitra is very auspicious. Valvyassumanji Maharaj says that Arjun also asked the same question to Shyamsundar Kamalnayan Lord Krishna! Then Kamalnayan Shyamsundar said that, O Arjun, the Ekadashi that is celebrated in Chaitra Krishna Paksha is known as Papmochani Ekadashi. O Arjuna, this fast is observed to get rid of the sins committed knowingly or unknowingly during the lifetime of a man.
Valvyassumanji Maharaj says that in the Bhavishyottara Purana, “Papmochani Vrat” has been discussed in detail. The four-armed form of Lord Vishnu is worshiped in this fast and all sins are destroyed by observing this fast. The seeker who observes this fast should recite Bhagavad Katha sitting in front of God after worship.
Worship material: –
Vedi, Kalash, Saptadhan, Panch Pallav, Roli, Gopi sandalwood, Ganga water, milk, curd, cow’s ghee lamp, supari, vilvapatra, cannabis, dhatura, mogre incense sticks, seasonal fruits, flowers, amla, pomegranate, cloves, Coconut, Lemon, Nawaidh, Banana and Tulsi Patra and Manjari.
Fasting method: –
First of all, on the day of Ekadashi, you should wake up early in the morning and take a bath and take a vow of fasting. After that, the idol or picture of Lord Vishnu is established. After that incense, lamps, coconut, and flowers should be used to worship Lord Vishnu. In the end, meditate remembering the form of Lord Vishnu, and after that recite Vishnu Sahastranam and worship it methodically while reciting the story. Pay attention… Jagran must be done on the night of Ekadashi, on the second day of Dwadashi, this fast should be completed by donating food and Dakshina to Brahmins.
Story:-
Lomash Rishi told a story to King Mandhata that in the beautiful forest named Chaitraratha, the son of Chyavan Rishi, the meritorious sage was engrossed in penance. One day in this forest, an Apsara named Manjughosha caught sight of the sage and she became fascinated with him and tried to attract him towards her. Coincidentally, Kamdev was also passing by at the same time when his eyes fell on Apsara, and understanding her feelings, he started helping her. The Apsara was successful in her endeavor and the meritorious sages were overwhelmed.
Being in control of lust, the meritorious sage Shiva forgot the fast of penance and started enjoying with Apsara. After many years, when his consciousness awoke, he realized that he had become disenchanted with Shiva’s penance and he got very angry with that Apsara, as well as being guilty of breaking the penance, the sage cursed the Apsara that, you are vampire. become Saddened by the curse, she fell at the feet of the sage and started pleading to get rid of the curse. Then the meritorious sage then asked Apsara to fast on Chaitra Krishna Ekadashi with the method. Due to being engrossed in indulgence, the Rishi had also lost his luster, so the Rishi also fasted on this Ekadashi, due to which his sins were destroyed and Apsara was also freed from the vampire vagina by the effect of this fast and she became beautiful. Got the form and she left for heaven.
Results of Ekadashi: –
Ekadashi helps in achieving the ultimate goal of living beings, devotion to God. This day is considered very auspicious and fruitful to serve the Lord with full devotion. On this day, if a person frees himself from desires and does devotional service to God with a pure heart, then he definitely becomes blessed by God.
