शारदा सिन्हा भारत की प्रसिद्ध लोक गायिका हैं, जिन्हें विशेष रूप से बिहार और उत्तर प्रदेश की लोकगीत परंपराओं में उनके योगदान के लिए जाना जाता है. उनका जन्म 1 अक्टूबर 1952 को सुपौल जिले के हुलसा गांव में हुआ था और उनका ससुराल बेगूसराय जिले के सिहमा गांव में है.
शारदा सिन्हा ने अपने कैरियर की शुरुआत मैथिली लोक गीत गाकर की थी. उन्होंने भोजपुरी, मैथिली, और मगही जैसी भाषाओं में लोकगीत गाकर अपनी पहचान बनाई है. उन्हें छठ पूजा के गीतों के लिए विशेष रूप से लोकप्रियता मिली है. उनके गाए गए छठ के गीत जैसे “केलवा के पात पर उगले सुरुज देव” और “हो दीनानाथ” भारतीय लोक संगीत में बेहद प्रसिद्ध हैं.
शारदा सिन्हा को संगीत के क्षेत्र में अपने योगदान के लिए कई पुरस्कारों से सम्मानित किया गया है. उन्हें पद्म श्री (1991) और पद्म भूषण (2018) जैसे प्रतिष्ठित राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कारों से नवाजा गया है. उन्होंने न केवल पारंपरिक गीत गाए हैं, बल्कि कुछ बॉलीवुड फिल्मों में भी अपनी आवाज दी है, जिसमें “मैंने प्यार किया” फिल्म का गाना “कहे तोसे सजना” भी शामिल है.
लोक गायिका शारदा सिन्हा का निधन 05 नवंबर 2024 को एम्स, नई दिल्ली में हुआ था. उनका संगीत शैली में लोक जीवन और संस्कृति की झलक मिलती है, और वे आज भी भारत में लोक संगीत की एक सशक्त आवाज मानी जाती हैं.

Sharda Sinha began her career singing Maithili folk songs. She made her mark by singing folk songs in languages like Bhojpuri, Maithili, and Magahi. She gained particular popularity for her Chhath Puja songs. Her Chhath songs, such as “Kelwa Ke Paat Par Ugle Suruj Dev” and “Ho Dinanath,” are extremely popular in Indian folk music.
Sharda Sinha has been honored with several awards for her contributions to the field of music. She was awarded prestigious national awards like the Padma Shri (1991) and the Padma Bhushan (2018). She not only sang traditional songs but also lent her voice to some Bollywood films, including the song “Kahe Tose Sajna” from the film “Maine Pyar Kiya.”
