========== ========= =============

From childhood till 1970, I have observed that the combined chirping of sparrows in the trees and clumps of our village was so melodious that I used to listen silently for at least an hour every day, mesmerized. Their number was up to a thousand on big and dense trees, and their combined song was used to create such intoxication that every listener would get lost in those vocal waves. Before joint singing, they used to have maneuvered flights from here and there in the sky above the village. Then gradually his voice used to decrease and then he became completely silent. All the sparrows seem to have gone to sleep in the bedroom. The same sequence would be repeated again in the morning. The chiming waves of Chan-Chan, Chin-Chin, and Chun-Chun created a strange harmony. It seemed as if all the sparrows together sang to the villagers in the morning and evening as a recompense to the villagers for their needs. Provided Mud, thatch, clumps, and mud walls were their refuge, where they used to stay safe in their nests and also lay eggs, which would come out of the eggs in a few days and start flying in the sky. By the time the summer season comes, their number increases a lot. It was very tempting to descend in herds on the thatch and in the courtyard, pick grains or food grains and then fly away. When the heat increased, cold water was kept for them in an earthen vessel under the shade in every house, drinking which they would be satisfied. His rolling in the dust of the courtyard or outside, which the women of the house used to call bathing, was no less than a surprise for us children, but today all those scenes have been reduced to memories. Not only the gardens were cut, but the trees inside the village were also cut. Now in some places, some drumstick trees are left, on which sometimes a sparrow is seen in a flock of two or four. After all, how would they celebrate Mars in the cement jungle? Now she has become unwanted by the village and the villagers. Nobody even thinks about them anymore. Does no one care that why there is such a famine of sparrows in the village? While living in a stone house, everyone has also turned to stone. Now there is no tolerance in the courtyard and outside in the houses. He has been made homeless. No place to lay eggs. The custom of farming with oxen ended. Cow and buffalo are also not in everyone’s homes now. Now she is forced to lead a lonely life like a refugee. It may not have any effect on today’s children or youth, but for those who have seen that scenario and have ever enjoyed seeing it, this scene is no less than a pain. Earlier we used to recognize not only the people of the village but even the animals and birds of all the houses. Now people are refusing to recognize even their own people. It may seem natural for those who are confined to themselves, but we feel that something of our own has been lost.
