पौष पूर्णिमा के दिन वनस्पतियों की देवी, ‘देवी शाकंभरी’ की जयंती के रूप में मनाई जाती है. मार्कंडेय पुराण के अनुसार, पौष पूर्णिमा के दिन माता शाकंभरी की जयंती मनाई जाती है. इसे शक्ति और प्रकृति की देवी शाकंभरी के अवतरण दिवस के रूप में जाना जाता है. माता शाकंभरी को देवी दुर्गा का ही रूप माना जाता है. शाकंभरी का अर्थ है – “शाक (सब्जियों) से भरपूर”. उन्होंने मानवता को भोजन और जीवन के लिए आवश्यक प्राकृतिक संसाधनों का वरदान दिया था.
कथा: –
पौराणिक ग्रंथों के अनुसार, एक समय धरती पर भयंकर अकाल पड़ा, जिससे जीव-जंतु और मानवता संकट में आ गए. उस समय देवी शाकंभरी ने अवतार लेकर धरती पर सब्जियों, फलों, और अनाज का उत्पादन किया, जिससे सभी की भूख शांत हुई. देवी शाकंभरी का चित्रण अक्सर उनके हाथों में फूल, फल, और सब्जियां पकड़े हुए किया जाता है. वे करुणा, पोषण और समृद्धि का प्रतीक हैं. देवी को शाक-सब्जियों और अनाज का भोग लगाकर उनकी कृपा प्राप्त की जाती है.
