वैलेंटाइन वीक का आगाज हो चूका है. वैलेंटाइन वीक के पहले दिन रोज डे मनाया जाता है. इसकी शुरुआत कैथोलिक परम्परा के अनुसार होती है. वैसे तो देखा जाय तो रोज यानी गुलाब का फूल ईराक का राष्ट्रिय है. गुलाब के फूल को प्रेम का प्रतीक भी माना जाता है.
इतिहासकारों के अनुसार, मुग़ल शासक जहांगीर और नूरजहां की प्रेम कहानी काफी प्रसिद्ध है. कहा जाता है कि, नूरजहां को गुलाब का फूल काफी पसंद था और जहांगीर प्रतिदिन करीब एक टन गुलाब नूरजहां को भेजा करते थे. वहीं दूसरी तरफ महारानी विक्टोरिया के दौर में एक-दुसरे से प्यार मोहब्बत बढ़ाने के लिए गुलाब का फूल देते थे. कालांतर में यह प्रथा बन गई.
गुलाब को प्यार, स्नेह और भावनाओं का प्रतीक माना जाता है. अलग-अलग रंगों के गुलाब विभिन्न भावनाओं को दर्शाते हैं: –
लाल गुलाब – सच्चे प्यार और रोमांस का प्रतीक
गुलाबी गुलाब – प्रशंसा, आदर और कृतज्ञता
पीला गुलाब – दोस्ती और खुशी
सफेद गुलाब – शांति और नई शुरुआत
नारंगी गुलाब – जोश और आकर्षण
वर्तमान समय में वैलेंटाइन वीक के पहले दिन लोग अक्सर अपनी भावनाओं को जताते हैं साथ ही अपने रिश्तों को मजबूत करने के लिए गुलाब का फुल देते हैं.

Valentine’s Week has begun. Rose Day is celebrated on the first day of Valentine’s Week, according to Catholic tradition. Rose is the national flower of Iraq and is also considered a symbol of love.
Historians say the love story of Mughal rulers Jahangir and Noor Jahan is quite famous. It is said that Noor Jahan loved roses and Jahangir used to send about one ton of roses to Noor Jahan every day. On the other hand, during the era of Queen Victoria, roses were given to increase love and affection. Over time, this became a tradition.
Rose is considered a symbol of love, affection and emotions. Roses of different colours represent different emotions:-
Red Rose – Symbol of true love and romance
Pink Rose – Admiration, respect and gratitude
Yellow Rose – Friendship and happiness
White Rose – Peace and new beginnings
Orange Rose – Passion and attraction
Nowadays, on the first day of Valentine’s Week, people often express their feelings and give roses to strengthen their relationships.
